Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can we purchase the lens barrel cover separately, i lost mine?

A: Sorry. The lens barrel cover is not sold separately in the LensCoat Lens Cover for Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS II (Realtree Max4 Camo).

Q: 2. Will this case fit a Nikon z6ii with a 100-400 mm lens?

A: If you are using the Nikon Z6 II Mirrorless Camera with the Nikon MB-N10 Multi-Battery Power Pack for Select Z-Series Cameras, then yes, the LensCoat BodyBag Pro Sport (Black) may work for your usage needs, though it may be a bit snug as the Nikon NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S Lens is longer than 8 inches. If you are using the Nikon Z6 II Mirrorless Camera without a grip, this LensCoat case would be too large for your usage needs. Without a battery grip, the OP/TECH USA D-SLR Tele Digital D-Series Soft Pouch (Black), B&H # OPDDSLRTPB, would be closer as a recommendation for your usage needs.

Q: 3. Does this fit the older style 100-400 L push/pull style lens?

A: No, this one will only fit the version 2 lens, if you have. Version1, you will need the cover specifically made for that lens, hope this helps

Q: 4. I hand carry my camera and 500mm lens. I have a strap connected on one end to the camera and the other end to the lens (on the tripod foot). Would I be able to carry my camera and lens with this cover on it? Thanks.

A: You can hand carry your camera while this cover is placed over it.

Q: 5. How do you zoom with the neoprene on the barrel, or is it stuck at 400?

A: The sleeve that exactly fits over the barrel extended to 400mm attaches with a velcro strip. When you want to use as a zoom lens, you simply undo the velcro. I then refasten the velcro and hang the circular piece over my gimbal head where it can't get lost. When I hand hold, I just leave the extension cover off.

Q: 6. Will the Wimberley wh200 head that all ready has a lenscoat wrap on it fit in this pouch?

A: Yes the Gimbal with the lens coat wrap will fit inside the pouch easily.

Q: 7. Will this cover fit the Movo GH800 Gimbal Head?

A: yes it will

Q: 8. will this fit a 7Dii with either ef300f/2.8 or ef100-400ii mounted on a wimberley side kick gimbol ?

A: Yes, LensCoat RainCoat Large Sleeve will perfectly fit the Canon 300mm F2.8 lens with lens hood on the 7D mark II. It will also work for the 100-400mm fully extended on the camera. The cover is design with a velcro patch so the user can have access to put the cover on the equipment while mounted on any tripod head.

Q: 9. Will this fit with a Wimberely Sidekick attached to a RRS ballhead and a 600mm Nikon lens?

A: It should fit with no problems. I use the Raincoat with my 600mm Nikon lens on Wimberly head. The Raincoat has a Velcro bottom closure that fits around the mounting foot so there is no interference with the mounting foot and head.

Q: 10. How well does this fit the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary? Would the Raincoat 2 Standard be a better fit (although I fear it might be slightly too small)?

A: I do not have Sigma 150-600mm lens. I bought the raincoat 2 for Nikon 400mm, 2.8 lens, and I have not used it in the field yet.

I bought several of this kind tripod backpacks ever since I discovered them. So far they are the best way to carry my big tripods to day hikes. You could even leave the camera on the tripod when you walk, just remember to lock the head so the camera won't swing around behind your head.

I've been looking for something like this for a long time. I wanted at backpack that I could transport a tripod and a small amount of gear when taking a short hike. This fits the bill. I wish it had a slightly larger gear capacity, but it works for what it is.

I usually only need 2 filters (one on lens and one in a case) and this is the smallest I could find, perfect for carrying filters while I'm out, I use a bigger case for my home storage. Putting two 58mm filters in is pretty tight but doable. Easier to put two smaller size filters in. I've also been able to fit a Hasselblad B50-to-58mm adapter with a filter attached into the slot, but again, its snug.

I was looking for less bulky way to carry a set of 52mm filters in my compact camera case and this has worked perfectly. I'm able to slip in two filters and then clip it to shoulder strap anchor point on my case. Bought one and liked enough that I bought a second in a different color. It is a tight fit. You could probably get a 58mm filter into it (as it's labeled by LensCoat) but don't expect to get anything larger in it. Perfect for my needs.

Typical of LensCoat, this one fits great on my son's Panasonic lens. The quality seems good, and it's comfortable in the hand.

I use this with the Canon EF 400mm F4 DO and it is really an essential accessory for the lens. The Canon one is bulky, heavy, and is a pain to get on and off. This one is lighter, quick to get on and off, and can be put on the lens when in storage with the hood in reverse, hood on normally, or even just over the front of the lense without the hood. It stays one and does what it should. The little loop on it is also useful for attaching a cord to something like your tripod ring so you don't lose it or let it fall on the ground. This is also the most economical and reasonably priced product in the entire LensCoat line of products in my opinion. At sub $30, there should be no hesitation in purchasing this to protect your lens.

I debated about purchasing this cover because i dont have the exact tripod head that its designed for. So i measured, looked carefully at the great photos provided on the B&H site and decided to go ahead, its not like this thing is $$. So when it came, free shipping by the way, and i tried it out, IT FIT !!!! It has the same freaky super velcro as the leg wraps i also purchased from B&H so its not slipping off. I am very happy with this item.

I purchased this for my 70-200mm f2.8 for a football game that I had field access and for which I was not sure what the weather was going to be during the game. I wanted some general protection and this was it. It comes in 3 small sections that you slide over your lens & lens hood. They all fit very snug and there was no worry that it would move or fall off at any time. As it turned out, the game night weather was clear, but very cold. I had this lens on a 2nd body with a Black Rapid strap. It was great to pull up the 2nd camera/lens and not feel the cold metal of the 70-200mm barrell. The cover does not impact your access to the focus or zoom ring. I am not sure how the cover would do in more severe weather but I like that it does give basic protection from keeping it on sling hanging from my side.

I actually needed to carry a 77mm polarizer and a 72mm polarizar in either of two bags. With this combination, the 72mm may be tricky to get over the rim of the 77mm not a show stopper. I went to a local name professional photography retailer and was told We don't have any filter cases. Nobody carries filters anyway these days because you can do so much in photoshop! As far as I'm concerned duplicating a polarizer in PS is not one or if so, I'd certainly like to not waste that much time.
