Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it only fit the 28mm? Does not fit in the 50mm or 35mm E mount version?

A: That is correct, the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 Interchangeable Bayonet (ARRI PL) only works with the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 anamorphic cine lens. The other two lenses have specific adapters just for them.

Q: 2. Would this be compatible with the Black Magic 4k equipped with a metabones XL speedbooster?

A: Yes, the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens (PL/EF Mounts, Silver Flare) would work with the Metabones XL Speedbooster.. However, you will be limited to recording in 4k resolutions when using S35 lenses like the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm.

Q: 3. Is this adapter for the Novoflexar rapid focus system lenses made for Novoflex since 60's till 90's?

A: No, this Novoflex Adapter for Novoflex A Mount to Canon EOS M Cameras was created much more recently in order to attach Sony Alpha DSLR A-mount lenses onto Canon EOS-M mirrorless cameras. Both have not been around as long as the 1960's through 1990's. They are much younger systems than that.

Q: 4. Is this mount for the mirrorless version of the lens or for the PL/EF version and this is just a replacement mount?

A: There are many other versions of the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 lens. The adapter would be used with the X-mount, MFT mount, and E-Mount models that do not include the EF adapter.

Q: 5. Is this be a good lens for landscape photography? I am using a full frame Canon 6DMk2.

A: Yes, this lens would work well for landscapes.

Q: 6. Will this enable an MFT-mount Nanomorph to fit on an EF-mount camera?

A: When using the Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 Lens the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 Interchangeable Bayonet (Canon EF) will allow the lens to mount to Canon EF mount cameras.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with the DJI Inspire 2 drone with Zenmuse X7 camera?

A: Yes, The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 50mm with DJI DL mount will support the Zenmuse X7 camera on the Inspire 2 drone.

Q: 8. Is this lens a reasonable choice for panoramic pictures?

A: If you are shooting a crop sensor camera, not so much. It is a really sharp lens but not that wide. 24mm on full frame turns in a reasonable wide angle shot. On a crop sensor, 18mm is wide enough to make it look big. That is really equiv to 28.8mm on full frame (Canon anyway). A 14mm would really get into wide territory on a crop sensor. Canon's are 1.6 x the focal length. really good for long, bad for short. You really need to go much smaller than 35mm for a real panoramic effect...

Q: 9. Weight?

A: The approximate weight of the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens (FUJIFILM X, Silver Flare) is around .79 lb / 320g.

Q: 10. Can I swap this EF mount onto the RF lenses?

A: Yes, The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 50mm T2.4 Interchangeable Bayonet (Canon EF) will adapt to the Interchangeable Bayonet (Canon RF) mount system.

[Canon EF] The r5 makes manual focus so incredibly easy, I can confidently capture bride groom portraits with ease and know they're in focus. The bokeh has a vintage reminiscence to it which I absolutely love

[Canon EF] Ive used the 27mm for a while and was convinced I needed something a bit closer for my kit. Great tool to have and compliments the the other lenses as well for both my Komodo and R5C! Very little distortion, barely any breathing and the silver flare is not obnoxious! Recommend these lenses as they are small and light and great intro to the bigger and beefier vintage anamoprhics.

[0.29 lb] I am truly amazed by the images these lenses can produce for the price and size! If you are looking for lenses that don't look sterile and have some character to them without having to sell all your possessions to afford them, then these are absolutely the lenses for you!

[Canon EF] Great value for the price. The aesthetics of the images achieved are beautiful. It would be nice to have a detailed manufacturer's video of the mount change from PL to EF.

[Canon EF] First off, there's a review with 1 start saying ( Not for professional use ) - I think that's an irresponsible opinion, without any room for subjectiveness. Since the definition of a professional really is nothing more than someone who is being paid for their work, you can't just say not for professional use, when there are many types of looks in demand by clients looking for exactly what these produce. I'd say these are definitely lenses for professionals in the right situation.

Quick mentiontions (tough body and mounts, strong gears, very controlled flaring, and ultra light).

I am not saying these are the best tools for every job, and I agree that there are some issues regarding the lenses distortion - which are easily noticeable in review videos (evidently the other person didn't study before buying), which for me, has all be quickly addressable in an editor with limited adjustments if I decided to correct it.

However, I have already had a few clients, including my own personal work, where the look and feel these lenses with the distortion they create is preferred, it added a feel to the image, it was the deciding factor to use these for the productions actually (feature films), it added a driving mood that complimented the narrative - so when I say they are a tool, I am simply saying - understand what your tools have to offer, and you will know if they are the right ones for the jobs, and in those cases, these lenses are phenomenal. They are a little too sharp for my typical feel, but I slapped a custom made filter in my matte box, and they have become the perfect look for my film making aesthetic.

Study these lenses on YouTube, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make sure those strengths align with your objective - if they do, BUY THESE - I love mine.

[0.29 lb] These lenses have a constant 1.5x squeeze factor, which gives consistent results across the entire focus range and makes for reliable de-squeezing in post. Other affordable Anamorphic lens brands do not have a constant squeeze factor. This lens is clean with minimal chromatic aberration only at the very lowest T-stop. It is incredibly lightweight which is useful in run and gun productions. I cant speak for the PL mount, as those may have a bit more heft to them. Flaring is very gentle on the silver version and slightly more aggressive on the blue and amber versions. You cant go wrong with this lens. See attached example.

[Canon EF] It works with my Lumix camera bodies and was super easy to swap out lens mounts with the original PL mount. Definitely recommend.

[Canon EF] Conversion with supplied EF mount was not too difficult. Fit is perfect. Love this affordable option for shooting anamorphic. Ordered the Laowa Venus 1.33x front anamorphic adapter to get a 2x squeeze out of it. Because of the availability delay on the adapter I can't report on the two together yet. But at a 1.5x squeeze I'm pretty impressed. Every review on youtube has been pretty spot on so no need to repeat it here.

[Canon EF] This is the best EF Cine wide-angle lens that I have seen to date. And the color rendition matches perfectly with the other Xenon FF Lenses that we use.
