Designed for motion picture productions shot in 8K VistaVision, the Leitz Cine ELSIE 50mm T2.1 LPL Mount Lens (Feet)features an ARRI LPL mount and provides the painterly bokeh and crisp resolution that the company is known for. Projecting a usable image circle of 46.5mm in diameter, it is compatible with the ARRI ALEXA LF and LF Mini camera bodies. The T2.1 maximum aperture is consistent among the range, so there is no concern about exposure variations when cutting between the lenses in the set.

A 270° focus rotation makes for accurate focus pulls. Each lens incorporates geared focus and iris control rings that share the same position among every lens in the set, so swapping lenses can be done without adjusting your follow focus or lens control system. The 50mm lens has a close focus of 1.6', weighs only 4.4 lb, and features lens markings in feet.

Engineered to resemble the look of the M lenses, the ELSIE lens creates a pleasant blur and tasteful vignette effect toward the edge of the frame. It offers a similar image quality and feel as the Leitz Zoom series.

Designed to facilitate quick swaps without time-consuming adjustments to the lens control system, this series has standardized its geared control rings for the iris and focus. The T2.1 aperture is also consistent across the collection. A wide 46.5mm image circle is produced by each of the ELSIE lenses.

Designed specifically to accommodate large-format digital sensors, the LPL mount is an upgrade to the PL mount. ARRI eliminated the space reserved for mechanical shutters and widened the mount's diameter to 62mm.

Automatically record metadata like focus setting, T-stop, and depth of field. Synced to timecode, this data is invaluable for post-production and enables on-set crew resources to be assigned elsewhere.

A: There isn't a constant F to T-stop conversion ratio since the T-stop is a measurement of the light being passed through the lens where as the F-stop is the size of the opening of the aperture. The F stop is only dependent on distance while the T stop is effected by all the things that change the amount of light passing through the lens to the sensor. But it is safe to assume that the F-stop is going to be a smaller number than the T-stop.

[Yes] I have all 3 of the available PL mount versions of these lenses. I used on 2 proffesional shoots and WOW WOW WOW - I still cant get over the IQ for the price but with only 1 gripe---lets get out of way-- (no focus marks on AC side) not a big deal using FF on op side typically or remote FF if I have an AC so its not really an issue) If you are looking here you like consider the DZO Vespid line. TRUE they have a full set. However they have a very vintage look with oval bokeh and bad CA(on a few focal lengths) Those are smaller lighter and MARGNIALLY sharper true) however these lens have very little CA very little if any breathing depending on FL- propper full 330 rotation on focus, they are bigger but still small- However dont look SILLY on my RED like the Vespids do. I cant say this enough MEIKE hit a homerun here and I have ZERO regrets. Just wish the whole set was already available (24mm coming end of NOV 21) ---you cant go wrong here.

[Full Frame] I really love this lens. It just stays on the Ursa permanently. Many great directors use the 50mm as a standard (I'm thinking of Ozu), and I've personally always found the 50mm the most versatile focal length. And this lens is superb. I used the Rokinon lenses before this, which I appreciated, but this lens has more character. I really like the long throw, the build quality, and just the creamy look of this lens.

[Imperial] shot with lens and totally surprised with the bokeh as good as it's from the still leica M camera lenses and S lenses even it's a wide angle the bokeh still shows blued well in the background I can't imaging how good is the 1.4 version of summilux c ....

[Yes] I have the 24mm and the 50mm FF primes now and love them. They are my first cine primes I've invested in. There standard form factor fits my camera build and mat box, which previously was for L series auto fucus lenses.

[T2.1] Bought this for my Mini Ursa G2. Lens is sharp with a vintage flavour. The flares on it are gorgeous

[Full Frame] The 50mm is a very good lense, nice and weighted, smooth focus can get pretty stiff in cold temperatures, give a nice warm image great boca and love the colours makes it quick and east to read. I don't know why the 24mm cost more thou.
