A: Currently using four Seagate Barracuda 12TB HDD in RAID 5 with no issues.

A: No. According to product documentation, the ARC-4038Ml is an external solution with Mini SAS HD SFF-8644 host connectivity for use via direct attachment with your PC or Mac workstation via a ARC-1883x/1226-8x PCIe card (not included).

Q: 3. is this include the screwsand washers ?

A: The CyberPower CR6U61001 Includes 30 screws and washers for mounting rackable equipment.

Q: 4. Has anyone used this for a desk top rack and with Ubiquiti Security Gateway, switch 8, and Cloud Key Gen2 Plus?

A: Yes I have! If you'd like pictures mark I can provide them but works perfectly! I have a Ubiquiti Gateway, Gen2 Plus, 16 port switch, battery backup, and AP :)

Q: 5. Is this bus powered

A: This is powered by an internal battery, for charging that battery you would be able to use the included USB cable

Q: 6. I would like to mount this rack onto a wall and have the cables come through the back (basically the rack mounted over the hole the cables will come through). Should I have any issue cutting a hole in the back of the rack to pass the cables through?

A: This unit is made of metal, so you would have to have the appropriate tool to cut a hole in the wall plate on the back to run cables through.

A: Yes, the OWC ThunderBay 4 Mini includes the SoftRAID setup and management software for a customized RAID solution.

Q: 8. Does this product work fine with Macbook M1max?

A: Yes, the OWC ThunderBay 4 mini 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Array and Drive Enclosure would be compatible with the MacBook M1.

Q: 9. I have this same exact RocketStore unit .. mini sas connected to my win10 x64 PC .. it doesn't shutdown alone after i shutdown my PC !Any Advice ?

A: This is normal it has its own processor built in which regulates thermal conditions and healt of the drives. There is no wake-on or power off with MiniSas it has its own shutdown and boot up cycle. If you must power this down I would recommend doing so with the button in the rear after your computer has completely shut down. Then power on and make sure all the lights are good to go before powering on the computer.

Q: 10. Does this work on an OS 10.6 Apple?

A: It's an enclosure the OS that you use it with won't matter.

[1] I've purchased dozens of these and haven't had any issues to date. Works as expected & reliable. I'm using a mLogic mTape LTO-7 drive. The only minor quibble I have is that they don't come with any sort of label/sticker. 5

[1] It holds 6-7 cards plus 4-5 notes. Easy to access any card you need while keeping the overall thickness very low. Like the design. 5

[27 lb] Our small video agency recently upgraded our LTO drive to LTO-8 and started buying these tapes for our footage and project archives. The significant capacity increase with only marginal increase to cost per tape saves our company a lot of time and money. So far the tapes have been very reliable and performed well during archive and restoring. We will be buying plenty more in the future. 5

[27 lb] It arrived a lot faster, initially it was going to take 4-6 weeks. The product is very well built, materials are very good quality. Adding drives was extremely easy. Connection to Mac Pro tower through SAS controller was easy. Everything about the product was absolutely fantastic. I will be filling it with 12tb drives, should make for a very nice storage array. Speeds are very nice as well. 5

[LTO-7, LTO-8] We purchased one of these units back in January, 2020 for use in a University audio/video recording setting. I believe we've already transferred over 150TB. There is a lot of relief when you know your master recordings are now backed up on something that lasts longer, is faster, closer and easier to deal with than stumbling and slow 'Cloud solutions' or having to shelve dozens of aging drives! We use YoYotta software with it. So far it has worked really well. The only issues we have had are with a LTO cart or two that had a problem and failed during the transfer process, not after. It is pretty darn fast and easy to hook up using thunderbolt. The Software is also great for adding metadata and sending emails to let you know it is finished once verified checks of the transferred data are complete. Because of 4K, file sizes are soaring ever higher, yet the mLogic LTO 8 is pretty darn fast and so good at 'retrieving' past recordings, I plan on buying one for my own personal use. As always, your mileage may vary. 5
