[Aluminum] Smooth.......This head can handle heavy loads with ease 50+ lbs. Had a lighter head and needed an upgrade. I had good experiences with other Libec products so this one is a good fit for my RED EPIC when it's in the cinema mode. For the price you can't beat it.

[Aluminum] These are great! - I have about 20 of them, and mount the base to all my tripods and monopods and rails and whatever else we need - and then just attach the plates to every camera we have and then no matter what we need, it's universal to everything else - fastest way to disconnect any rig to anything, and pops right back in!

[0.6 lb] I now have 4 of these adapters attached to varioust video fluid heads. It allows for almost instantaneous side insertion and removal of a camera and provides a solid and secure connection.

[2x 3/8"-16 Male] If you're adding a teleprompter, slider, or any other piece of rigging that lives between between the camera and the Sachtler tripod, add one of these! Great way to make rigging and de-rigging a breeze.

[0.6 lb] I have purchased several of these adapters for use with various video heads that do not offer side mount capability. They are well made, all metal and, so far, have been reliable.

[Aluminum] The pictures don't do it justice, it looks a little like plastic but it's solid metal. It attaches solidly for my rig, and is perfect as a QD for my R5. If you looking for alternatives to the big names for a plate mount, buy this one!!

[2x 3/8"-16 Male] We bought this tripod rig completely on the suggestion of the B&H staff, and we could not be more pleased with it. The whole unit is solid as a rock, glides smoothly on the wheels, and adjusts very easily. Assembly was a snap, and mounting camera rigs is simple and solid.

We bought the unit based on its ability to hold heavy weight, and we use it to hold a full camera & teleprompter rig. The whole assembly weighs in at 30+ pounds, and it rides easily on this tripod - and feels completely secure.
The two handles are fully adjustable, and they are nice and long. Plenty of control.

The rig is supposed to be used as shown... on the wheel base. So they did not include regular feet for the tripod to be used off the wheel platform. This would have been a nice extra, as the tripod could then have been used outside the studio, but even without this, the whole package is a definite A+.� And in this price range, it is a complete home run.

[Aluminum] This tripod is a beast. Sturdy metal, rock solid build, and holds my 20lb rig just fine. The head is amazing and smooth. The locking knobs for the head only need to be turned about a quarter of a turn to lock the plate or the head itself. I love this feature. The spreader is very easy to remove. I have noticed that the spring loaded tether for securing the legs together during transport has popped out once but I was able to feed the spring and the tether back into its port and it works still. I highly recommend this tripod. Easy to use, fluid head is super smooth, and built like a tank.

[2x 3/8"-16 Male] Bought two of these and couldn't be happier. The follow focus rods attached to the front of my camera were keeping me from easily attaching it to my Manfrotto plates. Now I can move my camera from my Moza Air 2S straight onto the tripod with no hassle or reconfiguration.
