Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this have a mute and on/off button ?

A: No, the Polsen M-70 Dynamic Handheld Microphone does not have a mute or on/off button or switch onboard.

Q: 2. The specs state that the "Circuitry" is "solid state" but if it is a dynamic microphone without transistors or ICs then there are no solid state devices, just wires. What exactly does the "circuitry" consist of?

A: There are no active electronics in this microphone. Just a magnet and a voice coil.

Q: 3. What is the audio pickup range for this mic?

A: Hi Michaela, We don't have an exact number for that, but the sensitivity can be adjusted to pick up sources further away if needed.

Q: 4. We cannot get this to work on our Mac laptop. They can hear us but we can't hear them once it's plugged in...?

A: Eject the USB microphone from the computer desktop. Unplug it from the computer, Shut down the computer and then restart it after 30 seconds or so. Then plug the micrphone back in. If this does not provide remedy, please contact our Customer Service department: 800.221.5743 cs@bhphotovideo.com

Q: 5. What does the other end of the cable look like? Can I connect it to a laptop via USB? I want to pass voice from a classroom to a teacher on the other end of a Zoom call. Thanks.

A: There is NO connector: Unterminated Four-Conductor Cable

Q: 6. Is this mic compatible with Sennheiser ew 100 g3 wireless transmitter?

A: The best way to use this microphone with that system is to buy a Sennheiser plug on transmitter that runs on the same frequency as your system.

Q: 7. What color is the finish? It looks like "rose gold" in the photos. I don't like "rose gold " for use on stage.

A: The color of the CAD A77 Supercardioid Large Diaphragm Dynamic Microphone, which is discontinued, could be best described as "bronze."

Q: 8. This mic does not change from Omni to Cardiod pattern at the flick of a switch. It has two different capsules that must be exchanged for this purpose. Did you get this wrong?

A: The CAD Equitek E70 microphone features interchangeable capsules. Included are a cardioid and an omni patterned capsule.

Q: 9. How sensitive is this mic? Would it work well plugged directly into the xlr port of a canon xa series camcorder or would it need a stronger preamp?

A: Being that it is a dynamic mic, any recording device with an XLR mic input, will perfectly work with this mic.

Q: 10. what is the size of the wind screen for the Sennheiser MD-46?

A: The wind screen you need for the Sennheiser MD-46 is the MZW 1, product code 004839. I don't have the actual physical dimensions available.

[Cardioid] I have a 6 piece kit that I am using this microphone set for. I have never used any other drum mics, so I cannot compare it to others. However, I am very satisfied by the quality these mics provide. I am a former professional, but now retired and playing and recording drums as a hobby. For this purpose, these mics are fine.

[Cardioid] I use the mic setup on my 6 piece drum set. The recordings are for my own use only, as a hobbyist. These mics have worked well for me. Their recording quality more than meets my basic needs. I cannot comment on how they compare with other drum mics, since these are the only ones I have ever used. They were very easy to set up. The clip on attachments worked perfectly for me. Although, be aware of the need for some sort of mic stand/attachment for the bass drum mic.

[Black] I own 3 of these mics, as well as Shure SM81s, AT4050s and Senheisser Mk 4s. If you want extremely quite, low distortion, low coloration mic,s at a low cost, these mics are an excellent buy. I've owned mine for about 10 years and they have been flawless. They are great for drums, acoustic guitars, orchestral recording, etc. These are accurate mics, without romantic colorations.

[Black] I bought this for hybrid meetings that are in person as well as broadcast over Zoom. It works very well with groups up to 10 or 12 people sitting around a table in a medium size room (I haven't tried it with larger groups or in larger rooms) - the folks on Zoom can clearly hear anyone in the room when they're talking.

[Cardioid] It's a great Microphone Pack! Used for home recording and live playing, it worked great, very good quality, great response! And I used the condensers mic for acoustic guitar and it worked very well! (sorry for bad english, I'm not american!)

[Cardioid] All jokes aside (which is a very true and accurate statement), this microphone really did put a smile on my face. It didn't need EQ or compression for it to accurately portray the sounds I put in front of it. I bought a pair of these and set one up in front of my guitar and one for my vocal and played a live song that I tracked into pro tools. I couldn't have been happier with the results. Great product and an even better one for the price!

[Mono] A very multi-purpose(versatile) microphone! The powerful and beautiful sound definition! I ve got three examples and I use it for voice(vote), accordion, Drums! To use with a good microphone stand because it is a little bit heavy! That of the happiness! In Live or in studio! Bravo CAD !

[Solid-State] The quality of this large diaphragm mic's sound is sensitive, crisp, and clear. The response is well balanced. But the feature that stands out is the ability to select a pickup pattern. We use these in live bluegrass band shows, in the old '30s style where we all crowd around a single mic stand. The wide cardioid pattern is perfect for this. I also use several of these for recording. Versatile, well worth the money.

[Mono] I have used this microphone for about 3 years. We use the microphone in Skype for business conference calls. Users say that the attendants sound clear. Believe it or not it works amazingly well. I am impressed. While I would prefer a cordless microphone, an USB microphone is always charged!
