The FLM CP42-L2 Atlas Carbon Fiber Tripodfrom FLM CP42-L2 Atlas Carbon Fiber Tripodis a tough and strong carbon fiber tripod with a robust 132 lb load capacity. The 2-section carbon fiber legs feature twist locks joints that disengage with a simple twist. The CP42-L2 has a maximum height of 65.5", and the legs offer independent leg spread with three locking leg angles for easy leveling on uneven surfaces. The tripod can be lowered to 6.3" for floor-level perspectives and macro imaging. The included 100mm flat plate features a 3/8"-16 threaded mount and a ballast hook and can be quickly exchanged for 100mm or 75mm half-bowl adapters.

[3/8"-16 Male] This thing is a beast. I took it on my last trip to Mt. Rainier and out on the North Fork of the Teanway River. It weighs less than my Promaster XC-M 525 travel tripod. Once you set it in place it just flat doesn't move. Solid! I elected to put a Leofoto LB-60N leveling base with a Sunwayfoto DT-03 two way head on top. Works great! The tripod is tall and more than enough height for me at 5' 10. Easily could accommodate someone over 6'. Well worth the money. 5

[Twist Lock] Small and light but can carry a heavy load. My wife uses it with her D850 and it's rock solid. It's a bit short but for the weight and size, we have no complaints. 5

[Carbon Fiber] Absolutely love this tripod! Massive carbon fiber leg sections make it simultaneously very tall and supremely sturdy. Build quality is outstanding. Very much a professional quality tripod. I’m 6’4”. With RRS BH-40 ball head on this tripod, my camera is above my head. Perfect for handling the uneven terrain I encounter in landscape photography out west. Not a lightweight travel tripod, but not too heavy for a serious photographer carrying it on a comfortable backpack. Short tripods can’t handle uneven terrain, but tall tripods can get shaky. Not this one. Rock solid at max height. Love it! 5

[Yes] I find a three section tripod to be the ideal, medium between compact folding dimensions and stiffness. This tripod is well-made and strong. My only complaints are that the neural grips are anodized aluminum and the tender bang into each other and that causes the finish to mar. Another thing that could be improved is that it's sometimes hard to tell when The legs are fully locked into place. As you turn the knobs, you do not get a progressive sense that the legs are locked in place. 5

[3 Positions] For its size and height it is very light and stable. Having 3 leg sections vs. 4 means that it's not as collapsible, but the benefit is improved stability / less flex in fully extended legs. I have it paired with an Acratech pan & tilt head and leveling adapter. FLM is making really great tripods! 5
