Expand your computer's storage capacity by installing the Sonnet M.2 2x4 PCIe 3.0 x8 Card for NVMe SSDsfrom Sonnet M.2 2x4 PCIe 3.0 x8 Card for NVMe SSDsinto an available PCI express x8 slot. There are two M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 3.0 sockets built onto this card, supporting up to 16TB of separately purchased double-sided solid-state storage in RAID 0, or 1 configurations. Sustained read speeds can reach up to 6600 MB/s in RAID 0 mode, providing the performance needed for demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D modeling, design, and more. A custom designed passive, silent cooling solution allows drives to maintain high performance during large file transfers without speed throttling. The self-contained card works with most motherboards with an available PCIe 3.0 x8 slot using macOS, Windows 10, and Linux operating systems alongside a wide variety of M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs.

This M.2 2x4 PCIe card allows you to install up to two of your own double-sided M.2 NVMe solid-state drives, for a total of 16TB, into a single PCIe 3.0 x8 slot.

The PCIe 3.0 x8 host bus interface provides four lanes of bandwidth to the installed SSDs for maximum performance. Sustained data transfer speeds can reach up to 6600 MB/s in RAID 0 mode and 3400 MB/s from individual SSDs.

Connected solid-state drives may be put into RAID 0 or 1 configuration.

This PCIe x8 adapter includes both low-profile and full-height brackets, allowing it to be installed into most computer systems and compatible enclosures.

The M.2 2x4 card's cooling design allows it to stay silent while helping avoid speed throttling during large file transfers.

This PCIe card is compatible with separately purchased Sonnet Thunderbolt 3 expansion systems, which can transfer up to 2800 MB/s through a single cable.

Supports booting from a single (non-RAID) attached SSD.

Supports SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) data reporting.

Q: 1. Does it work on a tsv-1282?

A: Yes, this card is compatible with the TSV-1282.

Q: 2. What is the maximum TB size NVME that this enclosure can support?

A: Max size will be determined by the OS and File system type.

Q: 3. Will this works with WD 2TB WD_Black SN770 NVMe M.2 SSD?

A: Yes, this Sabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs will work for almost any of the following M.2 form factors: 2242 ,2260, or 2280. The WD Black SN770 will be compatible: https://bhpho.to/3BlR1kr

Q: 4. Will this card work okay in a 8x lane PCIe slot? My 16x lane slots are all used up on my Mac Pro 2019.

A: You could use an 8x, but you would take a hit to the speed.

Q: 5. Does this PCI card work with Windows 11?

A: The Sonnet M.2 4x4 Silent PCIe 3.0 x16 Card for NVMe SSDs (BH #SOFSSSD44E3S) is compatible with Windows 11.

Q: 6. What Q nap software is available of which is able to be used on a Win 10 64 bit machine for creating RAID arrays etc.? Where can it be obtained or downloaded? Name of file to look for?? Thx

A: This is specifically for a QNAP NAS.

Q: 7. Will this enclosure take the now fastest Sabrent NvME SSD?

A: The Sabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs can take M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSD, but the SSD, regardless of the type of connector will be limited to the speed of the enclosure itself.

Q: 8. Does this work on a Windows system?

A: It was designed to be used in a QNap.

Q: 9. Does this have a raid option built in or does this show as 4 seperate drives?

A: When the QM2-4P-384 card is used in conjunction with QNAP's QTS on a TS-877 NAS; various RAID array set-ups are available for the four M.2 NVMe SSDs installed on the card ...

Q: 10. Will it work with iPhone 15 pro or iPhone 16 pro?

A: The Sabrent USB 3.2 Type-C Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe and SATA SSDs would not work with the iPhone 15 Pro or the iPhone 16 Pro as it is not compatible with iOS.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] I have installed this with four PNY Technologies CS2130 2TB M.2 NVMe SSDs. I think the speed is limited by the bus since the speed of the stripe is over 6GB/s and the individual speed was nearly 3GB/s. This configuration gives me a very fast 8TB drive to use as a scratch disk, speeding up the loading and saving of video and other large projects.

[0.595 lb] I replaced a Ableconn card that had two NVME installed but did not have a provision for a heat sink and so the cards failed after a little more than one year. The Sonnet provides for each NVME to be independently accesses and in parallel with multiple ones installed on the card and the data throughput was dramatically higher than with the Ableconn card.

The Sonnet has a very large heat sink and uses a special pad that is adhesive and also helps with heat transfer from the M.2 module to the aluminum heat sink. This should greatly extend the life of the modules.

[0.595 lb] Card works well. Good way to add more storage to your QNAP box. Good build quality and easy to load up the m.2 sticks.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] I've been using the Sonnet m.2 PCIe SSD for over a year now in my 2019 Mac Pro 7,1 and it was worked flawlessly. R/W is crazy fast. No issues. Nice to have the fast and upgradeable SSD for After Effects and current projects.

[0.595 lb] The board is very well designed to support maximum read and write rates for the M.2 memory modules. It took a little bit of time to install as the M.2 modules are sandwiched between two layers of heat sink material to keep the modules from overheating and throttling back.

Once installed the OS detected the new modules and then I used Widows Disk Management to format the modules and then create a RAID1 partition with the two modules mirrored.

Lots of online support options for the computer novice to integrate the new memory modules or to set up the RAID level desired.

[Yes, RAID 0/1] Added 4 Samsung m.2 ssd cards to this and blazing fast under raid 0 even via the old PCIe 3 connection. The card will slightly bend when you put on all the thermo pads and tighten the heat sink but otherwise perfect. No sound and heat managed very well.
