[12.695 lb] Seems fairly simple, but the ability to separate the Zoom recorder from its capsules opens a whole new world of recording possibilities. When you consider the price/performance of Zoom microphone capsules - for example, the SSH-6: A very capable shotgun microphone that is perfectly usable for documentary or talking heads can now be separated from the recorder and used on a proper boom- the person recording audio is free to adjust levels.
The cable is expensive, but not unusual for this type of custom interface.

[Steel] This product is simple enough. It's a product from Oben so the build quality is amazing! The ball head is quality and can bear decent weight. It held up nicely to a Canon T5i with a telephoto lens attached and kept the camera balanced and still. The only drawback is that i wish the base thread size had an adapter for a light stand or tripod. If it had that this product would be a 10/10 but as it stands it is a solid 9.5 and I highly recommend.

[19.7" (50.0 cm)] Used on my Right Design 55 Ball-Head and holds a 4x5, solid as a rock! No flaw, no issue. No it is not a complex assembly, but a simple piece that works and you can trust.

[Steel] I purchased one of these from B&H 15 years ago and it has been my main ball head ever since for general landscape and macro photography. I had several other ball heads before that that never lasted as long as this one has. I chose it primarily because the L shaped locking lever is much easier to operate than the knobs of previous ball heads I owned. Like the other reviewer I have worried that the plastic lever could easily break, but mine has held up. I have had to tighten the small hex screw that holds it in place occasionally, though. With all that said, I paid considerably less for it 15 years ago and I'm not sure I would be willing to pay the current asking if I had to replace it.
