A: This ring is to attach a 62mm filter to a 77mm lens thread but for wide lenses, that's a no-no, vignetting will occur.

A: That is a step down ring. If your lens has a 77mm filter thread it will fit and allow you to use 72mm filters on it. Note that stepping down you will get vignette.

A: You should be able to, but I am bot sure!

A: Sorry, if you were to mount this smaller lens onto a larger lens, you will get vignetting. For the PV-GS400, here is a fine fish eye for you. Raynox HDP-2800ES High Definition 0.28x Diagonal Fisheye Conversion Lens B&H # RAHDP2800ES. Yes, it is more expensive but it will work.

Q: 10. My email was wrong. Is this a 52mm female thread? to a 48mm male thread?

A: The Sensei 52-48mm Step-Down Ring has female 48mm threads on the front of the ring to allow you to connect a filter with 48mm male threads to the step-down ring. The back of the step-down ring has 52mm male filter threads which will screw into the 52mm female filter threads on the front of your lens.

[62 mm to 52 mm] The Nikon ES-1slide adapter has a 62mm thread. The Nikon 60mm AFS Micro f2.8 has a 52mm thread. In order to use the ES1 with the 60mm Micro lens you need a Nikon BR-5 Adapter Ring 62-52mm. This Nikon ring costs $44.95. Both the Sensei 62-52mm Step-Down Ring $4.95 and this one The Pro Aluminum at $7.95 work just as well as the Nikon Ring. The threads are smooth and this Sensei Ring is in my opinion just as good as the Nikon BR-5. 5

[Aluminum] Step-down filter adapter rings add flexibility to your filter adapter options, but a little common sense is required regarding their application. In this particular case, I wanted to use 46mm filters in a 49mm front-and-rear-threaded lens shade, which I've adapted to a 37mm threaded lens via a 37-49mm step-up ring (49mm was the smallest thread size this shade was available in, and I also needed the larger shade for unobstructed use on a wide angle lens). This works solely because the 46mm filters (I wanted to maintain this common filter size for all the lenses I have for my Lumix GX7) are sufficiently larger that the lens' 37mm thread to avoid vignetting. Trying to use 46mm filters on a 49mm threaded lens, for instance, will almost always result in vignetting (especially with wide-angles), although you might get away with it for macro applications, since optical parameters are somewhat narrower at very close focusing distances. You can buy cheaper adapter rings than Tiffen, but Made in U.S.A is worth the difference to me. 5

[Aluminum] I know step down rings are very simple pieces of metal. But I was relieved to see that they fit well on the lens And my filter fits well on the inside ring. (I have seen worse...) 5

[0.065 lb] Works great on my Nikon D750 with Nikon 28-300 lens (normal 77mm filter mount). Can use all my smaller 52mm filters. No vignetting as long as you use the DX in-camera crop option, found on the D750 menu. You should not use these filters in FX Full-Frame mode. 5

[62 mm to 52 mm] I use this for my old film camera filters of 49 mm in my digital lenses of 58 mm. This works quite handy as I do not need to have a full range of 58 mm filters. There are no effects whatsoever present in the pictures which I take with the stepping ring and smaller diameter filter. 5
