Quickly expand your wired Gigabit network to reach across your home with the TP-Link TL-WPA7617 AV1000 Powerline & AC1200 Wi-Fi Kitfrom TP-Link. This kit includes two HomePlug AV2-compliant modules that plug into 3-prong U.S. wall outlets to reliably transfer data up to 1 Gb/s over 1000' using your home's electrical wiring. Setup is easy. The main TL-PA7017P module connects to your router through its Gigabit Ethernet port while the TL-WPA7617 remote access point is placed where you need network coverage. Pressing the pairing buttons while the modules are plugged in links them together. In addition to having a Gigabit Ethernet port for fast connections to computers, smart TVs, and other wired devices, the remote access point also provides 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity to hard-to-reach places. Up to 1200 Mb/s may be transferred over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands with compatible devices, and the system can be integrated into existing OneMesh wireless networks.

The TL-PA7017P module also has an outlet passthrough that allows you to plug in one powered device, such as a lamp, television, or video game console. Your data connection is secured with 128-bit AES, WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK encryption. The TL-WPA7617 kit supports the IEEE 1901, 802.3/3u/3ab wired standards along with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless protocols. Its configuration software is designed to work with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers.

Q: 1. 500Mbps? Try 50... setup was a breeze, and they work great. Except I am getting between 40 and 50 Mbps max. This was tested on both a laptop and a PS4 Pro. Our internet package is 100Mbps+, and I get that over our iPhone/iPad's wifi and when hardwired to the router on my desktop. Only bought these adapters because of the terrible wifi radio in the PS4. 40-50 is still a huge improvement, but it's a tenth what the box says. Any suggestions on getting that raised a bit?

A: While the adapter itself is capable of speeds up to 500Mbps, your speeds are limited by the 1 x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port. The only way around this limitation is to purchase an adapter with a gigabit ethernet port.

[US (3-Pin)] My internet router is two floors up and on the other side of the house...thick plaster walls, etc, etc. it literally took less than five minutes to boost my internet speed to hard wired speeds. Amazingly easy...wish I could give this ten stars! 5

[1.465 lb] Was super easy to set up, and works perfectly. During setup it didn't pick up the existing 2.4 GHz credentials using WPS only 5.8GHz, but entering it manually worked fine. Everything else was plug-and-play. 5

[US (3-Pin)] I needed internet access in an old building next to my house. It is too far away from my house to be supported by my wireless router. However, it does share electrical wiring with my house. Running new Cat5 cables was not a good solutions for a variety of reasons so I decided to try TP-Link's AV100 Gigabit Powerline Starter kit. The setup was very easy, basically plug and play. The price was very affordable. While not as fast as a direct connection, it still meets my needs. 5

[OFDM] The TP-Link AV600 Powerline Adapter is a little jewel for extending a wired Internet connection. Simply plug one unit into an AC wall outlet near a router and the other unit into an AC wall outlet in the area where one wants a wired Internet connection. Then, connect the unit by the router to the router with an Ethernet cable. Next, connect the other Powerline adapter to the device, e.g. computer, with another Ethernet cable. Now, one has a wired connection to the router. It works seamlessly by using the electrical wiring in one's building. 5
