Robust and reliable, the Omnia's CD drive builds on the 6000CDT CD transport with a read-ahead digital buffer to reduce disc-reading failures. This also means the Omnia is able to play scratched and damaged CDs that are unreadable by conventional mechanisms.

Utilizing high-quality analog preamp circuitry akin to the Audiolab 6000 series, coupled to line-level RCA inputs to connect analog sources, the preamp circuitry is kept as simple as possible. The Omnia uses high-quality components to maintain signal purity, with line input signals passing to a precision analog volume stage

A dedicated MM phono input means a turntable can be directly connected to the Omnia via a high-quality, low-noise phono stage with precise RIAA equalization. This phono stage continues the evolution on the 6000 series – engineered to make the most of the music nestling within an LP's grooves.

For networked audio playback, the Omnia is equipped with an Ethernet port, lending itself to a wired connection and the wider bandwidth requirements of high-resolution digital audio. For the most convenient access to wireless music playback, the Omnia offers Bluetooth connectivity with high-quality, low latency playback with the Bluetooth aptX standard.

The USB DAC section is based upon Audiolab's long-term partner. The ESS9038Q2M SABRE32 Reference DAC performs D/A conversion, utilizing ESS Technology's 32-bit HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator to deliver ultra-low noise and high dynamic range.

Via the USB DAC section, the Omnia also offers full decoding of MQA (Master Quality Authenticated), which delivers the sound of the original master recording. The Omnia includes MQA decoder technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio files and streams received via the USB input at the original file's full resolution, passing the signal through its DAC and preamp stages.

Firmly planting itself as a very useable piece of high-tech equipment, the Omnia makes use of a 4.3" color IPS LCD display, offering a higher clarity of color and lower power consumption than TFT displays. Via the captivating display, the Omnia offers a simplified general user interface and a graphical integration with your music source and playback formats. It also uses a protocol for a real-time VU meter display, adding a touch of hi-fi finesse to the functional, good-looking display interface.

Roon's fundamental goal is to provide a consistently stellar user experience. This goal doesn't stop at the software; the experience extends all the way down to the audio playback hardware, regardless of manufacturer. As a Roon Tested partner, Audiolab has provided equipment to Roon for testing with a variety of different operating systems and computers and shared information about its design and capabilities.

Roon transforms the experience of browsing music. Artist photos, credits, bios, reviews, lyrics, tour dates, and composers are located automatically, then interconnected by links to build a surfable, searchable digital magazine about your collection. Roon also finds all the same links between your personal files and the millions of tracks available on TIDAL, so you can start with the music you know, then explore and discover new music from the world beyond your collection.

In addition to music browsing, Roon is a multi-room, multi-user networked audio platform built to the exacting standards of audiophiles. It offers features like bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multichannel playback, and signal path display.

The Omnia incorporates a dedicated headphone amp with current-feedback circuitry. Its gain bandwidth and high slew rate ensure a dynamic, detailed, and engaging performance with all manner of headphone types.

Powering your speakers is easy, with zero complexity in terms of configuration. Simply connect your passive speakers to the Omnia and you have access to a world of audio sources with impeccable playback.

The discrete Class AB power amp stage delivers 50W per channel into eight ohms, with a maximum current delivery of 9A into difficult loads. The output stage of the discrete power amp circuits uses a CFB (complementary feedback) topology, ensuring superior linearity and thermal stability, as the idle current is kept independent of the temperature of the output transistors. A substantial 200VA toroidal transformer, followed by a 4x 15,000 uF reservoir capacity (60,000 uF in total), helps the amp to maintain firm control of the music while enabling excellent dynamic range.

[DTS Play-Fi] After my old standby NAD integrated Amp died I looked for a long time for an Integrated Amp that was made for analog sources as well as the new array of digital devices. This Amp met my needs and even better it was on sale. Setup was very easy and after just a little working with my wife (she's not very tech savvy) she understood how she could listen to SiriusXM using her tablet. And to top it all off it sounds great.
I have already started recommending this unit to my friends.

[26.14 lb] Easy to set up. Easy to use. The turntable sounds fantastic now. Which is going to cost me money as I'm on a vinyl purchasing kick!

[2.0] I wasn't sure I liked it at first, it didn't sound like the amp I was replacing, but the more I listen to it, the more i realize it sounds better, the differences are subtle, but i like it more and more

[aptX, aptX LL] I had been testing in my 2-channel system Yamaha and Denon integrated amps, as well as an older Marantz AV receiver I had on hand, and was not fully satisfied with the music reproduction playing a variety of genres on CD from classical to jazz to folk to pop/rock. After researching and reading for many hours I decided to try the Audiolab 6000A and was delighted to see B&H's excellent sale price on the black model. The amp has very nice build quality, and more importantly to me it has elevated my Q Acoustics 3050 towers to another level of sound quality. Great soundstage, neutral tonality top to bottom, instruments sound real with the space and ambience of the recording reproduced, cymbals are delicate and detailed, bass notes are powerful when called upon and always under control, the midrange is very pure with no hint of coloration. I feel like the Audiolab has provided a taste of the high end for a budget price.

[Standby: 0.5 W] This replaced my 18 year old Cambridge Audio pre-amp/amp setup. Spent time debating between pre-amp/amp vs integrated amp and then this vs Marantz PM8006. Finally settled with this due to features and price point.

I use this mainly to listen to Vinyl collection but now also have my old Cambridge Audio CD connected to Optical and love the DAC on this amp. Phono amp is outstanding and sound quality is just amazing. Bluetooth is also helpful for streaming from your smart phone. I have old pioneer Elite Tape deck connected and this has got live back into the old tapes.

Only negative is that this in not Made in UK or Europe but is made in China but build quality is solid.

[2.0] I tested the Rotel Tribute combo(amp&CD) vs Audiolab 6000 (amp&CD) combo. No doubt the Audiolab wins in terms of sound, I don't know all the fancy words to use in this comparison but in my simple language explanation its like this. The Audiolab sound is thicker fuller darker and most of all it has a 3D like feeling to the sound, by the Rotel it seams like the sound is flat on the wall in front of me, by the Audiolab the sound is away from the wall there is air between the instrument and the wall, so its more real experience. The bass is interesting because by the Rotel I can hear a bigger bass, but its nice in the beginning, later I felt its blocking some sound of the other instruments, in other words, its not as balanced the bass with the other sounds. By Audiolab the bass is not sticking out from the rest and I think its more tighter. so its either because the bass is not so boomy or because all the other sounds are punching out same strong as the bass. Anyway, its more pleasing to listen to because of that. from the other hand the Rotel has also a very special sound very detailed, another benefit it has tone controls(and a general sound booster), you can adjust the bass and the treble which makes it very convenient and takes away the problem mentioned above because u can boost the treble and or lower the bass. Still it doesn't give the 3D sound as the Audiolab. one more pro to the Audiolab CDT, you can make fast fwd the song by pressing long the go to next song button, you can NOT do it by the Rotel CD player, only with the Remote controller(very embarrassing). From the other hand a con to the Audiolab CDT, when you press the pause button, if you leave it more than a few minutes it goes back to beginning of the CD (I didn't find any setting to change that - very embarrassing).
