A: Nikon does not list on their site that it is compatible and the lens is just different enough that it is to large.They list the CL-S2 as the one that fits.

A: The Nikon CL-M5 Lens Case will fit the Nikon 100-400mm Z lens with the hood in reverse.

A: That AF-S lens is slightly wider than the Z lens so it may not fit.

[Black] I purchased this case for my Nikkor Z 400mm f4.5 VR S lens as it only comes with a silly cloth wrap for protection while carrying or storing. The lens fits into the vase and with the lens cap reversed and attached to the lens which is a huge plus for me. 5

[Empty] Not sure what people complain about here; very nice pouch/bag. Can place lens in it, not too cumbersome, soft and smooth, not too much material to be too thick and take too much space in backpack or shoulder bag, and does not allow lenses to touch. I love them, and I always use them, even for non-Nikkor lenses. Very neat product. I have two, and will buy more. 5

[Zipper] I'm loving all the fine Z Lenses that I recently purchased for the Z9, just a bit disappointed Nikon chose to eliminate the semi soft cases & only provide little loose fitting cloth bags for most lenses. I purchased the CL-M5 Lens case (500mm PF case) allowing the 400mm f/4.5 to fit perfectly for added protection. 5
