Use this Remote Audio ENG Breakaway Cable Timecode Sound Devices 7 Seriesto connect your Sound Devices 7 series audio recorder to your ENG camera's timecode. Two 5-pin LEMO connectors and BNC connectors form the timecode link between devices. Multiple male and female barrel connectors provide a stereo audio return. Two 3-pin XLR connectors insert into your recorder. In total, the breakaway cable measures 20' for easy cable runs.

A: Theoretically, you can use the Sound Devices BNC to USB-C Timecode Cable for A20-Mini to jam sync the Atomos UltraSync ONE RF Timecode Sync for AtomX Sync and Ninja V with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3. However, according to DJI, they have not specifically tested if timecode via BNC will pass through the USB-C port of the Osmo Pocket 3.

Q: 4. Is the RTN on this cable really mono? The Sound Devices 302 and 633 both expect stereo return.

A: The return on this cable is mono, using a balanced (stereo) 3.5mm connector which is compatible with the Sound Devices units.

While USB-A voltage should always be 5-volts, we cannot comment on the current that is available at each USB-A port of the airline equipment is use, as this probably varies per airplane. As an alternative, you might consider a USB-C-to-USB-C cable along with a portable USB-C power bank / battery.

[Black] I use my 633 for single camera interviews and run-and-gun work. I need a cable that sounds good and can take a beating sometimes. Remote Audio has made a great, robust cable. The connection between the camera end and the rest of the cable is solid and releases easily and the 90 degree BNC out for TC is a nice touch. At 20', the cable is a little short at times, but it is by no means a deal breaker. It might seem pricey at nearly $300, but I will tell you it is worth the investment. It quickly became a vital part of my 633 kit. 5

[Black] If you have a 633 this is must have. Plain and simple. Even if using wireless hops, there is always a need for a wire. Having the added Timecode built in with a return is absolutely amazing. 5

[1.805 lb] It's clear that this was made for a professional sound mixer. The length is perfect, it has the carabiner on the mixer side for strain relief and the velcro strap on the other side does the same thing for camera and also wraps it up at the end of the day.It's a cable, and it passed audio and timecode just like a decent cable should, so I don't have much to add there. It's worth the price tag. 5

[1.805 lb] For any sync recording from camera to the Sound Devices 552, this is the best cable, and most reasonably priced time code cable I have seen for the Sound Devices 552 mixer/recorder. This cable connects to a BNC cable from the camera via a BNC barrel connector (also needed unless you have a BNC male to female type cable). The price is hard to beat, and you will need this and a most likely a barrel connector, & BNC cable to get time code from the camera. With Mp3 recording, and other external or backup recording now commonly used, having a time code synced recording capability as a sound mixer/sound recordist is a must. [1.805 lb] I use this cable with my Sound Devices 552 mixer, and it has worked perfectly. I used to have to record timecode (using a different mixer) with a Marantz portable sound recorder, and use tons of different cables and adapters do so. Now, I can plug the camera's timecode out directly into my mixer with no hassle. My only complaint is that the cable is a little short, but I carry barrel adapters and extra BNC cables in my audio kit so it's not a problem. 5
