Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. include power?

A: This does not include a power supply. You will need the one listed below: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/766323-REG/Remote_Audio_PS12V1_5A_12V_DC_1_5A_Power.html

Q: 2. Is the file in MP3 format?

A: The Tascam DR-05X can record audio files in MP3 or WAV format.

Q: 3. Will this work with the Zoom F8?

A: No it is specifically for the Sound Devices 744TH. The CA744INL Dual XLR to Dual TA3 Channel 3/4 Input Cable for 744TH (48") from Remote Audio is an audio input cable designed to be used with line level signals for input channels 3 and 4 on the Sound Devices 744T digital field recorder. The cable is 48" long and has a pair of 3-pin XLR female connectors at one end and a pair of TA3-F connectors at the other. The connectors are color-coded for easy management.

Q: 4. Does DR-05X record from line input audio continuously without skipping ( pausing) until memory is full ?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 5. Does it work with Microsoft teams? can i record calls in teams ?

A: You may record from your computer's soundcard via the 3.5mm Mic/Line Input.

Q: 6. can this have two mics connected?

A: You may connect one mic into the 3.5mm input but it will disable the built stereo mics.

Q: 7. How do I download this device to the computer? Do I need a memory card reader?

A: You can use a memory card reader, but the easier method is to connect the recorder to your computer via a USB cable. This is discussed on page 11 or the owner's manual: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/453697.pdf

Q: 8. Can I use this with to provide phantom power to two sets of Sennheiser MZA 900 P and Sennheiser ME 3 EW from the powered 3.5mm mic port on a Zoom H4n?

A: These cables will not pass phantom power reliably. They are designed for audio signal only.

Q: 9. Can I connect the cables going from the Audio Output from my synth in to the Tascam device (Audio In) for Line level recording? Assuming I have all the right cables of course. I just want to simply digitally record the waveform coming from my instruments when I play them. Not use microphone. I want dedicated line recording.

A: Yes you can. Use a dual 1/4" TS to 3.5mm TRS cable. The 1/4" ends will connect to the synth's left and right outputs (the cable is labeled) and the 3.5mm ends into the min/line input on the Tascam. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/160640-REG/Hosa_Technology_CMP_159_Stereo_Mini_Male_to.html

Q: 10. I have a rodecaster, and I want to be able to feed Zoom audio during my livestream out USB, into this box, out through the TRS, and into a mic input on the Rodecaster. Will that work?

A: Yes you can do that. I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but if you are trying to allow communication between the mics connected to the Rodecaster Pro and Zoom; a much simpler solution would be to connect the Rodecaster Pro to the computer that you are using Zoom on via USB and then go to Preferences--- Sound and select the Rodecaster Pro as your audio input/output device for the computer. From there, anyone using mics connected to the Rodecaster Pro should be able to communicate with the caller(s) that you have on Zoom.

[Gray] It does it's job, pretty self explanatory.

[Gray] I use this cable with my Sound Devices 552 mixer, and it has worked perfectly. I used to have to record timecode (using a different mixer) with a Marantz portable sound recorder, and use tons of different cables and adapters do so. Now, I can plug the camera's timecode out directly into my mixer with no hassle. My only complaint is that the cable is a little short, but I carry barrel adapters and extra BNC cables in my audio kit so it's not a problem.

[Gray] Using this cup to power my ENG audio bag's power distribution system. The cup is pretty secure at holding onto a NP-1 battery and I don't foresee a problem of it slipping off.

[Gray] For any sync recording from camera to the Sound Devices 552, this is the best cable, and most reasonably priced time code cable I have seen for the Sound Devices 552 mixer/recorder. This cable connects to a BNC cable from the camera via a BNC barrel connector (also needed unless you have a BNC male to female type cable). The price is hard to beat, and you will need this and a most likely a barrel connector, & BNC cable to get time code from the camera. With Mp3 recording, and other external or backup recording now commonly used, having a time code synced recording capability as a sound mixer/sound recordist is a must. [Gray] So far, so good. Like all NP-1 systems the main issue is the non-locking connection, but the connection is pretty tight on this one, and like all Remote Audio products, workmanship is in high order. I use it with VariZoom NP-1's without issue. If you are getting the RA BDS box, you pretty much have to get this cup as the connection is RA specific (I think...). But it's worth it. Better deal than other brands.
