This 60mm B+W MRC Nano Master 806 ND Filter 60mm 6-Stopfrom B+W MRC Nano Master 806 ND Filter 60mm 6-Stopis a precision-crafted neutral density filter that reduces an exposure by 6 stops for finer control over exposure settings. By increasing the density evenly across the entire image area, the depth of field can be reduced to help isolate the image subject, even in brightly lit conditions. In addition, the shutter speed can be reduced to increase image blur and enhance the sense of movement, or smooth out the look of rushing water.

All filters of the new Master filter line are equipped with the exclusive Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) nano premium coating technology. This high-quality broadband coating is applied on both sides and enhances the optical imaging properties, allowing uniform and increased transmittance across the entire light spectrum to be achieved, with minimal physically induced remaining reflection. The nano all-around protection on the filter glass also ensures increased scratch resistance and extremely fast, easy cleaning, providing a long filter life. The slim filter ring design is compatible with wide-angle lenses with an equivalent width of a 17mm full-frame lens. The top knurling is redesigned for enhanced gripping.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: So as not to confuse with my prior answer, there are no intermediate stops but yes there are stops at each end.

Q: 2. Would an 82mm lens cap be a snug fit with this? Or does it need to be bigger?

A: The 82mm cap works well on the filter for 77mm

Q: 3. Does the ring physically stop at min and max ends, or does it just spin all the way around?

A: Yes! Hard stops on both ends. Great feature.

Q: 4. Does this filter work with an M.Zuiko Olympus F2.8 Pro 12-40mm?And would a step down ring 52-62mm cause vignetting?

A: It will work with that lens. If your using a 52-62mm step up ring from a smaller lens you will be ok. If your using a step down to put a 52mm filter on a 62mm lens then you will most likely have vignetting.

Q: 5. 82mm. Does this filter have "front threads", for instance to screw on a lens hood?

A: The following system offer 86mm Front Filter Threads.

Q: 6. Can this filter fit the Sony 10-18mm wide-angle lens?

A: That is a very wide angle lens and I would suspect a vignette problem. The answer to that would be to buy a step-up ring and use the 77mm version of filter. Now you have a filter that will adapt to any lens you might have with the appropriate step-up ring. By the way, the 77mm and is often on sale for less than the 62mm.

Q: 7. What filter system do you recommend/use with this filter?

A: This is a 100 x 100mm - 2mm thick filter, and one of the most popular systems for that size is the LEE Filters LEE100 Filter Holder (https://bhpho.to/2Tg0TrU)

Q: 8. Can I use this on my Nikon wide-angle lens 10-24mm without vignette?

A: Most likely, no. The rim on this filter being the variable midel, is much wider than a standard ND would be. You definitely need to find a fixed stop ND for a wide angle. Even with that, you may still have slight vignetting at the 10mm end.

Q: 9. Hello...what is the front filter thread size (i.e., for attaching other filters, etc). Thanks

A: The 67mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter has a 72mm filter thread.

Q: 10. i have a question regarding this filter, do I need to use the lens hood for this filter, with the filter on the lends, the hood does not fit, is it ok to use the 24-70 2.8 70-200 2.8 17-35 2.8 24-120 4.0 lenses without hood, light will not stray inside the lens, with the ND filter on.? please respond. thanks. Ara

A: My best advice is to try a few shots with the hood on and off on each lens. The W.A. (17-35) will probably give the most trouble, but check the others as well.

[Glass] There are others that work perfectly fine, but this is the best so far from what I've seen.
There's just something about B+W filters that's different with flawless results.
Cheaper to buy it right the first time.

[60 mm] This 6 stop filter allows me to take the wide open aperture shots I want to take on bright, sunny beach days with the Canon RF 28-70 F2 lens. It does not cause any noticeable color shift or distortion at any focal range or any any aperture setting. I am very happy with this high-end filter.

[Glass] The B+W 10-stop ND filter, is great for shooting video in the mid-day sun. I also use it for fine art long exposures photos and Timelapse short videos.

[0.11 lb] I was looking for the best ND filter for my newly purchased Voightlander Nokton 50mm f1.0. I believe I found with this B&W. I can't see putting a $10 or $20 filter on a $1800.00 lens, just doesn't make sense.

[0.11 lb] I bought this filter used from BHPhoto.

I've used the old and cheaper uncoated B+W 110 ND 3.0 for years, and just accepted the magenta tint that came with it.

Now that I needed a 39mm filter thread, I decided to buy the MRC Nano Master 810 ND 3.0 and it's simply in another league.

No horrible magenta tint. The filter renders slightly cool, which is hardly noticeable. Also, tiny amount of magenta tint, but this is nitpicking.

I couldn't be happier. Absolutely worth it.

[Solid ND] I bought this B+W 3-stop ND filter for using when shooting outside on bright, sunny days. It allows me to use the faster apertures that I couldn't before. I shoot mostly ISO 100 B/W film using cameras that have 1/1000 as their fastest speed. Now I have access to shutter speed and aperture combinations that are more to my liking.

The quality of the B+W filters keeps me loyal to the brand. I also like the pouch that came with these filters. It takes up less space in my small bag than a hard box does.
