Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does the lock button work from adapter to lens? When I mount the lens to adapter I find by focusing the lens it can detach from mount.

A: I don't know. I have the same problem.

Q: 2. Will this adapter work on the Nikon D810?

A: Yes.

Q: 3. What is the focus helix?

A: Lenses for the RZ67 focus using the bellows on the camera. For that reason the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya RZ67 Lens to Pentax K Mount Camera has a focusing helicoid that enables smooth, controlled manual focus operation with a ring on the adapter.

Q: 4. How far does the back lens element protrude? I want to use it with a drop in filter system

A: The KIPON Baveyes Lens Adapter for Mamiya 645 to PL Mount will not allow a behind the lens filter.

Q: 5. does this work with sony e mount, the a6000 as well? thanks

A: I use it with the a7 series with amazing results. I have the 80mm 2.8 and the 150mm 3.5 and they're both insanely sharp. So you should have no problem using it on the a6000. Good luck with your purchase.

Q: 6. Can you attach this adapter to a tripod?

A: The KIPON Mamiya 645 Lens to Nikon Z Mount Camera Adapter does not have a tripod mount.

Q: 7. I can't fit my 45mm 1:2.8 Mamiya Manual Focus lens on this adapter, though everything I've read says the lens should be compatible. Has anyone else experienced this issue? it fits into the adapter (aka sits in the grooves) but it will not click and lock.

A: If the FotodioX Pro Lens Mount Adapter for Mamiya 645, does not work with the 45mm Mamiya Manual Focus lens for the 645, that means it is defective, and because it has a 2 year warranty, it can be sent back to Fotodiox to get a working adapter.

Q: 8. Will the adaptor allow the lens to work in stop down mode? The lens is normally "open" unless the iris preview is depressed

A: No, the FotodioX Pro Mount Adapter for Mamiya RB67/RZ67 Lens to Nikon F-Mount Camera, will not allow the lens to work in stop down mode.

Q: 9. Is there a correction factor for effective focal length. Does (for example) a 105 mm lens still have a 105 viewing angle? Thanks

A: The adapter itself does not change the lens. But in general a RZ/RB lens, has a factor attaching it to a Full frame or APS-C DSLR camera.Full frame DSLR with a RZ/RB lens is 2.1 times factor and than if you use it on an APS-C sensor it is another approximately 1.5 times factor.Example: 80mm RZ lens, 80 x 2.1 = 168mm lens for full frame DSLR. And for APS-C, 168 x 1.5 = 252mm lens.

Q: 10. This adapter works on ARRI ALEXA Classic?

A: Yes, if your Arri Alexa Classis has a PL lens mount, the KIPON Baveyes M645-PL 0.7x Adapter will work with your camera model.

[0.8 lb] Bought this to use my medium format Mamiya 645n lenses in the digital era. Wanted a camera with built in image stabilization as it really provides 2 stops of extra usable shutter speed. Hence the Pentax camera. The adapter does a really good job. It is smooth to install both on the body and on the lens. So far I have been concentrating on my 85 mm f1.9 lens. The results are very good with a creamy Mamiya look to them. The internal light meter works with the lenses, in manual mode, and I have had good success with the required manual focusing, utilizing the cameras built in focus confirmation. So with the conversion factor on this lens I have a 130 mm f1.9 lens with vibration reduction, focus confirmation, and beautiful images in lower light that separate from their background. The cameras flash is also usable as a manual flash and works in a pinch in Scientific mode ie trial & error. This is a great piece of gear and size wise the lenses look good on the camera.

[Pentax K] I recently purchased a Sony A7ii and instead of buying new lenses for it I bought this adapter and am able to use all my Mamiya 645 Sekkor lenes and they work perfect with it and look fantastic, for only $50 bucks I added 5 lenses to my arsenal

[0.8 lb] The quality is good with a solid metal construction. I use it with my Sony A7S, almost entirely for video and after some tests I feel the Mamiya glass is as sharp, if not sharper than my Canon L glass. I am thrilled that I am able to use some really good primes now. Its works perfectly. Zero complaints.

[0.8 lb] Very useful tool. I have a large selection of Mamiya prime lenses which are optically far superior to most 35mm/APS lenses. Along with a soft focus, this is just an amazing lens in itself. Please be very careful with this adapter, nothing wrong with it, but the Mamiya lenses are very heavy and place stress on the Pentax bodies. The bodies were not engineered for this weight, nor should they have been. Everything is manual, so slow down and enjoy the experience.

[0.8 lb] I have to say that the M645N lenses that I have fit securely onto the adapter without any wobble or movement. The focus ring on my lenses was a bit stiff from lack of recent use however even the expected drag when rotating the focus ring did not produce any movement in either the Pentax K mount or the attached M645N lenses. Fitting was secure and wobble-free, this is a quality product with exact tolerances and great build quality - I also like the fact that the Mamiya lenses attach to the external bayonet fitting as they would on the M645 camera, that is with the lens flanges secured behind the mount - unlike some other adapters on the market - thereby resulting in the aforementioned secure fitting. Highly recommended although I have only used this (so far) on my APS-C camera bodies and have yet to use it on the K1 for some 45 'megapixelshift' resolution goodness !
