Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with an argus c3 flash dome?

A: It can but its hit and miss weather your master flash registers with the sensor to get the slave flash effect to work. These flashs are a nice backup. They are cheap and you can find uses for them but dont rely on them to be a main light source.

Q: 2. Hello- My wife picked up for me a Smith and Victor set of 3 stands but it came with only two of these bulbs so I need to order another and maybe a couple of extras. This is my first experience with this type of lighting so before I invest in more bulbs I have a question: I tried using the two working ones using my 600EX set to its lowest setting, bouncing up to trigger the lights. However, I must be doing something wrong because even though the lights are going off they are having no effect. I know this because I took a test shot without them and there is no difference. I assume its a timing/ synch issue between the lights and the exposure. Am I making some simple amateur mistake? Should I be using a synch cord? Do these types of lights even take one? Thanks in advance.

A: You would have to use the Canon flash in manual mode. The other lights will see the canon pre flash that it fires for exposure determination and fire with it. This will cause the external lights to fire before the shutter is open.

Q: 3. Is it possible to turn the column to face the floor in order to shoot a larger item than 16x20 if a counterbalance weight is placed on the base board?

A: You can probably remove the center column from the baseboard and mount it reversed or mount the column directly to a table or bench.

Q: 4. Will it hold XQD cards?

A: XQD cards should fit into this no issues.

Q: 5. Is there a dimmable switch so the lights can be adjusted ?

A: You can dim the LED.

Q: 6. Can I move this incrementally up & down?

A: Yes and it has a marking if you need to go back to the same position

Q: 7. I'm having trouble keeping it tight enough from pivoting on my stand. It's a large stand. But I haven't seen complaints on that. What am I doing wrong?

A: The boom arm has a support weigh of no more than 4 lbs. If you are over that weight it will slip. If lights are less than 4 lbs it could be that the stand diameter is too small and so the swivel clamp cannot tighten down enough. If those are not the issues it is best to come in to chat or call.

Q: 8. Does anyone know the CRI value of these bulbs?

A: The manufacture does not list the CRI on this lamp. Ones like this are not more than 82 CRI.The lamp listed below if the fixture you have can work with the physical size of the lamp has a CRI of 90.

Q: 9. It says in the description that it has cold Shoe mounts. That would take a camera mounted flash unit? The umbrella mount (UM4) says in its description that the Flash mount is optional. Are 2 flash mount adaptors included in the kit?

A: Yes, in my set there were flash mounts included. Cold Shoe means that it is just a physical mount for the flash, it cannot communicate with your flash, like a hot shoe would.

Q: 10. Hi! Can I use it in Argentina? (the voltage here is 220)

A: You will need a step-down transformer to convert the power from 220 to 110 volts AC.

I use this product on my S&W M&P 40, replacing the dull stock sights. With the old sights I was hitting low and could not see the sights in low light or no light scenarios. Since the front sight is smaller and more compact it actually improved the accuracy of my pistol. I was looking at all kinds of differnt sights prior to purchasing these because I did not know what to expect. The gas filled tubes actually stay luminated, unlike other sights that glow in the dark only after light has been applied. I highly recommend these sights if you are hitting low with your gun or do a lot of low/no light firing.

Excellent set of night sites and B&H was the only ones that stocked these at a nice price. Installation only required a little fitting and easy to install at home.

Trijicon makes the best night sights in my opinion. I have Trijicon HD sights on one of my weapons. These are very nice with fast target aquisition but with my sadly aging eyes, I find the lack of difinitive dots on the rear sights make it difficult for precise target shooting. In sreps the Trijicon Bright and Tough sights. Same Trijicon quality with bright front and rear dots. The dots are a little smaller but very easy to see and much easier for me to out groups on target. As far as the tritium night time glow, it is excellent. Definitely worth the price!

First set I put on and they're excellent. Usually go straight to the TRUGLO TFX Pro's which are great but thought I'd give these a try. The front sight acquisition is much better and just easier to see in general. Also they glow just as you'd expect in the dark. B & H was great too the shipping was very quick and the price was better than most places that sell these.
