A: Yes the smartlav+ does become the default audio device when connected to the iPhone, so it works fine with Periscope and other apps such as the native Video app. We have uploaded a few videos showing the smartlav+ being used for Periscope on the RDE Youtube channel.

A: 1) The cord is 42 inch long.2) It connects straight to the phone and the camera automatically use it. It doesn't need anything else to record video from your iphone.

A: Yes, you're going to need the trrs to trs adaptor.

Q: 6. Can this be used with a regular recorder (with a 1/8 microphone jack) instead of a smartphone (i.e. Olympus Ws-852)?

A: It does with the Rhode adapter. Also, this mic requires power. It did not work immediately with my digital recorder, which is a Roland R-05, as I expected. Upon further examination I realized there was a setting to send power to the mic and it worked like a charm.

A: Yes

A: The Azden EX-503i can be used with the SC6 adapter.

A: Yes, the SmartLav+ can be used to record audio for video being filmed on an iPhone (instead of using the iPhone's built-in microphone). You will need to use a Lightning adapter like the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) to convert the plug on the mic from 3.5mm TRRS to Lightning.

Q: 10. Can I use the mic on my iphone at the same time I am recording iMovie on my phone?

A: This mic will not be available for phone calls while using a recording app.

[0.29 lb] This lav mic clip was a life saver. I recommend this especially if you lost your original clip. I love this product, its very easy to use. 5

[0.29 lb] I used this for some book readings. I found the audio to be clear, with good punch in the vocal range; it was maybe a little bassy, but that was easily fixed in post. It picked up very little background noise (in spite of being omni). The included mic/headphone splitter worked fine with my iPhone SE, although Apple's own software limitations kept me from monitoring the audio while recording. This mic is battery powered so you do have to remember to turn it off when not in use. For $35 this is a great piece of equipment. 5

[Omnidirectional] Good sound quality from an inexpensive mic. In the box is short TRRS adapter with separate Mic & Headphone jacks. Mic has very long cord. This is good pairing with Audio-Technica ATH-E40 In-ear monitors for very clean professional look. [1950's special needs headgear with mic intruding on camera is just outdated ugly] I'm on-air business talk radio host with video simulcast using ATEM mini Pro. We have not experienced the of foam windscreen falling off as mentioned in some review, but I would recommend buying extras. The Auray WLF-OLM10-2 Foam Windscreens for Polsen OLM-10 & OLM-20 Lavalier Microphone (2-Pack) is good choice. Semper fidelis, Dave 5

[Black] I needed a lav mic for auditions and interviews, but didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a small step up in quality. Glad I tried this first. The quality is amazing for the price making it one of the best value electronics I own. Huge step up in vocal audio quality compared to shotgun mics or onboard mics. I would have liked better cable management (because it's so long, which is a good thing), but so far it doesn't seem like the cable will wear out. Highly highly recommend this mic 5

[Omnidirectional] Not being a professional, I leaned on advice from B&H for my microphone needs. The ATR3350XiS filled met and exceeded my expectations. The cord length was a bonus, as I did not have to purchase an extension cord. The audio quality was perfect for my needs. 5

[Black] The mic works really well--just as advertised and is a good value. The only thing I would change is the design slightly. The low profile of the mic leaves no room for a dead cat to be put on for use in windy conditions. The wind screen that comes with it is good for keeping it from making noise if it rubs against clothing, but for outdoor use in windy conditions a dead cat is needed, and so little of the mic shows above the clip that there's no room for one. I would love to see them tweak that design. 5
