[2x AA] This is a very nice switch. It is the quality that I have come to expect from Boss. Nice quiet action. The red and green indicator lights for A and B lines are nice and bright.

[2x AA] Needed a way to control a multi effects pedal in my rig. One application includes a TC Electronic echo pedal. This Boss unit enables direct control over a parameter such as time or repeats. The pedal can control two devices although I have not tried this yet. I also use these to control various parameters of my Line Six Stomp XL. This pedal is very well made (Made in Japan) and the compact foot print is ideal for crowded pedal boards. Well done.

[Universal] I loved this pedal, as the construction is very solid, the material is aluminum and also aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The best part is its ergonomics since it fits your foot perfectly on it and does not slide on stage, a problem that occurs with most pedals.

[ Not Included] I own a couple Ernie Ball VP Jr volume pedals, and while these pedals are superior to the Boss FV50 in terms of build quality and feel, they're heavy. I'm putting together a small pedalboard for bus and train travel and so weight is my primary concern. I picked up the FV50H for use with guitar as well as the EV-5 expression pedal. So far they're working out great.
