Monitor an indoor or outdoor area with the Hikvision 4MP Outdoor Bullet Camera Night Vision 8-32mm Lensfrom Hikvision. This unit uses a 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor to capture 2560 x 1440 resolution video at up to 60 fps. Supplemental IR illumination provides up to 330' of night vision. The camera's 8-32mm varifocal lens delivers a 42.5-15.1° horizontal field of view. Two-way audio is possible thanks to an audio input and an audio output. A memory card slot accepts microSD/SDHC/SDXC cards up to 256GB (available separately). Integrated PoE technology simplifies connectivity by enabling the transfer of power and data through a single cable.

This bullet camera complies with ONVIF profiles G, S, and T, making it compatible with a wide range of surveillance devices. It is housed in an IP67-, NEMA 4X-, and IK10-rated enclosure for outdoor use in areas at risk of vandalism. An integrated heater ensures that the camera will be operational in temperatures as low as -40°F.

[NAS] This is a good camera. Image quality is excellent, and it catches ~ 90% of the license plates on cars that go by. It works well in darkness, but you must set it up properly to get it to do so. The downside: these kinds of cameras, being so powerful, have a myriad of menus and setup options. The manual, while better than others I have used, is just ok. I wish the Chinese vendor would hire a US proofreader (a technical one) to review such documents. There are a number of areas where things are vague at best. For example, there is a slider bar to set sensitivity (0-100), but there is no mention of what the numbers mean (is 0 sensitive or is 100 sensitive)? If you are not familiar with these cameras it will likely take some time to set it up and use it properly. The web interface is pretty good compared to some cameras I have used. So far, this is the best camera I have used for license plate capture. You can download a list of all the plates it captures into an Excel file. You can also download images. My complaint here is that if there are 3000 images to download, you can only do them in batches of 100 each. All in all, this is a good camera, well made, and I'd recommend it if you have a need to capture license plates. 5

[1] Bought this camera to set up in my garage. The 4MP and 2.8 mm fits all of the garage space I need to cover with a decent picture. It runs over POE with out any issues. I don't use the motion detection settings, run through blue iris which is really easy to add this camera, but they do work very well. The FPS, Resolution, bitrate, and H264/5+ settings are awesome to tweak in the camera to your needs. What else can I say, its Hikvision! 5

[Yes, 10 Streams] Excellent camera. Great vehicle and license plate recognition, except if a Jeep Wrangler without roof is passing by. Doesn't pick it up for some reason. Make sure you pair it with another camera, so you can get full pictures 24/7 of what the ANPR camera snaps. 5

[8 to 32mm] After several weeks of research for an ultra wide camera that wouldn't break the bank, I requested a quote and special ordered this one from B&H. Took a bit long to receive, 22 days from order day to DC, as it comes directly from HikVision California, and let me tell you, it was worth the wait. I'm using this camera with Blue Iris, so I won't speak about the built in motion detection, masking capabilities and other characteristics of that nature. I rely on Blue Iris for those. Several features that were must haves. Single lens with 180° horizontal field of view, it has built in lens distortion correction, which can be manually disabled. There's a bit of distortion towards the edges of the image, but this is expected. RTSP capable, outdoor, PoE, WDR, and IR. Overall 5 stars, if you're looking for an 180° outdoor cam, definitely take a look at this one. 5

[Yes] The first thing that sold me on this cam, and left the others behind, is its temperature rating. From -40F to 140deg. In other words, in the blazing summer sun on it or the coldest nights, it will work. Which is what I needed. The built in IR lighting and seeing to 100ft was also impressive and above average. I primarily needed to see in complete darkness, or dim light. This does both well. It has all metal casing - i.e. rugged. During the day mine faces south, and to my surprise the sun didnt wreck the image. Two down sides. If you get an older used one, they only work with the IE browser, There is no firmware upgrade (yet) to work with Google Chrome or MS Edge. A new one however will work with all of them, but you have to initially set it up with IE, and use that to get the latest web components app. Then the other browsers work too. The second surprise to me, was that there was very little clarity difference imo between the 2mp and 4mp version. Maybe I needed to go to the 8mp version. But both the 2 & 4 are adequate, so no need for me to try the 8mp version. Also a nice selection of field of view options from very wide to quite focused, so you can usually find one that s suitable for your situation. 5
