Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will they work on Z Cam E2-F6 Pro Full frame camera?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens is an S35 sensor sized lens. It would not be a good choice for a Full frame camera like the Z CAM E2-F6.

Q: 2. Is there enough clearance to use the EF lens with a RF adapter so I can use the lens on both my Blackmagic 6k and my Canon r6?

A: The EF versions of the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Anamorphic Prime 3-Lens Bundle (Canon RF, Amber Flare) should be compatible with an EF to RF adapter, but it would be recommended to confirm clearance distances with your chosen adapter. The rear protrusion distances of the lenses can be found here: https://bhpho.to/40oviq5.

Q: 3. Would the EF version fit BMPCC 6K Pro without damaging the internal ND filters?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle (ARRI PL & Canon EF, Amber Flare) (B&H# VE273550PEFA), when fitted with the EF mount, will work with the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro (Canon EF) (B&H# BL6KPKCAMP).

Q: 4. Does it only fit the 28mm? Does not fit in the 50mm or 35mm E mount version?

A: That is correct, the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 Interchangeable Bayonet (ARRI PL) only works with the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 anamorphic cine lens. The other two lenses have specific adapters just for them.

Q: 5. is it come with pl mount mounted on lenses with extra ef mount or can i choose pl or ef?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle has integrated PL mounts attached to the lens. The kit also includes Canon PL to EF adapters for mounting to EF mount cameras.

Q: 6. What is the focus throw on these lenses compared to say, the dzo which has a very long focus throw?

A: All three lenses in the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle have a 110 degree Focus Throw.

Q: 7. Do these have any electronic contacts? (Not for AF or anything) but just wondering if T-stop information is at least shared with the camera.

A: No these lenses do not have electronic contacts

Q: 8. Is it possible to mount a Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x onto a Canon R5c, then mount these lenses with an EF mount to make these lenses full frame?

A: No, the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x (BH #CAMAEFRF71X • MFR #4757C001) is designed to adapt Full-Frame lenses to a Super 35 body. These are Super 35 lenses and the R5C is a Full-Frame body, so you're in the opposite situation. We would recommend buying Full-Frame lenses for the R5C.

Q: 9. Does the lens work with the RED RF-PL adapter with ND electronic filters?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens (PL/EF Mounts, Silver Flare) would not be supported with the RED DIGITAL CINEMA V-RAPTOR RF to PL Adapter with Electronic ND Filter. RED PL tolerances: https://bit.ly/3RqUasB

Q: 10. How much does the lens weigh?

A: The lens weighs 11.04 ounces / 313 grams.

[55 mm] These lenses have a constant 1.5x squeeze factor, which gives consistent results across the entire focus range and makes for reliable de-squeezing in post. Other affordable Anamorphic lens brands do not have a constant squeeze factor. This lens is clean with minimal chromatic aberration only at the very lowest T-stop. It is incredibly lightweight which is useful in run and gun productions. I cant speak for the PL mount, as those may have a bit more heft to them. Flaring is very gentle on the silver version and slightly more aggressive on the blue and amber versions. You cant go wrong with this lens. See attached example.

[1.5x] It’s bigger than Fuji 16mm 1.4 but not much more. It’s a sharper lens of the two. Sharper than Fuji 56mm 1.2 ver I. Sharper than Viltrox’s own 33mm 1.4.. on top of all that, it has very little chromatic aberration- at least I didn’t notice it. On X-H2 the lens fits balanced and comfortable.

Overall highly recommended

[Super35/APS-C] Only having owned this lens for the last week, i have quickly fallen in love with the way it feels to work with, and the images it produces. Paired with the X-pro3 it has been such a pleasure to make photos with. I highly recommend this lens to anyone in the X system, or any other crop-sensor body.

[25.6 mm] Ive used the 27mm for a while and was convinced I needed something a bit closer for my kit. Great tool to have and compliments the the other lenses as well for both my Komodo and R5C! Very little distortion, barely any breathing and the silver flare is not obnoxious! Recommend these lenses as they are small and light and great intro to the bigger and beefier vintage anamoprhics.

[27mm] I have a long lineup of Fujinon lenses. This lens from Viltrox has received lots of praise and for good reason. Great sharpness, great color rendition, great optics, fast auto-focus and balances well in my hands on the X-H2s or the X-H1. It is weatherproofed to match the bodies.
I am really liking shooting at f1.2, f2 and f5.6; this lens has opened up new compositional possibilities for me.

[FUJIFILM X] I'm thrilled with the quality on this lens. It's super sharp- possibly the sharpest lens for Fuji X-Mount. So sharp that I actually had to put a Black ProMist on it for much of my client work. The autofocus is fast and quiet. Many people claim to it's heavy, but I find it just fine on my X-T5, and on par with the Fuji 16-55 2.8 in weight and quality.

[27mm] Excellent image and build quality. It’s a big and moderately heavy lens, so it pairs best with Fujifilm bodies with a larger grip (or an accessory grip). It feels fine with my X-H2. No issues with autofocus speed or accuracy. This is my first Viltrox lens and I’m impressed.

[T2.8] I might have had so many of X-mount lenses, bought and sold many of them before. 2 lenses gave me feeling of being in love with them; xf 18mm 1.4 and this viltrox. in terms of image quality 75mm viltrox is the best of all, only if it could focus a little quicker.. 90mm was good but af is not so good despite 4 linear motors, other lenses that i owned were the 35f2 33f1.4 16-55, 17-70 tamron, 14f2.8, 13mm viltrox, 50mmf1.0 (meh!), 50f2, laowa 65, laowa 33, 10-24f4,… after all , what i kept is 3 lenses; viltrox 13,27,75… i wouldn’t believe this if you would tell me that i would 2 years ago :)

[Super35/APS-C] Using the Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 with my Fujifilm X-H2S has been an eye-opening experience. It delivers amazing image quality at a price point that's hard to beat. While its autofocus might trail slightly behind my Fujifilm 33mm f/1.4 WR, the difference is minor and doesn't impact its overall stellar performance.

The bokeh is where this lens truly shines. Its swirly effect gives photos a unique, dreamy quality that I find incredibly appealing. Even with a bit of cat's eye bokeh at the edges, the visual impact of images remains strong and distinctive.

Another feature I appreciate is the aperture ring. As a Fuji shooter, this is extremely important to me.

Viltrox's build quality is noteworthy. The lens feels solid. This durability, combined with its optical performance, makes it an outstanding addition to any Fujifilm photographer's arsenal. I pretty much keep it on my X-H2S all the time.

As someone who values both quality and affordability, I want to see how the Viltrox 75mm f/1.2 measures up. If it's anything like the 27mm f/1.2, it'll be another must-buy.

The Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 offers incredible value for Fujifilm photographers. Its combination of image quality, build, and unique bokeh effects makes it a highly recommended purchase.

[FUJIFILM X] Incredible micro-contrast and sharpness without being overly sterile, with good focus speeds on an X-T3 (can only be better on the newer models). Out of focus areas look smooth and pleasant all through the aperture range, no onion rings or distracting shapes to be seen! Worth the weight and size (though anyone with big hands won’t think twice). And at under $600? A steal.
