The 77mm B+W 702 MRC Graduated ND Filter 77mm 2-Stopfrom B+W 702 MRC Graduated ND Filter 77mm 2-Stopdarkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas, which is useful for images without a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. The filter ring rotates to allow precise positioning of the gradation, and the density provides up to a 2-stop reduction in light.

B+W MRC Basic filters are equipped with the exclusive Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) nano premium coating technology. This high-quality broadband coating is applied on both sides and enhances the optical imaging properties, allowing uniform and increased transmittance across the entire light spectrum to be achieved, with minimal physically induced remaining reflection. The nano all-around protection on the filter glass also ensures increased scratch resistance as well as extremely fast and easy cleaning for a long filter life. The slim filter ring design is compatible with wide-angle lenses with an equivalent width of a 24mm full-frame lens. The brass filter ring has been with redesigned top knurling for enhanced gripping, and it has a special functional coating for smooth mounting and dismounting.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can 72mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano be able to fit Sony FE 16-35mm F4 ZA with XS-Pro UV or UV + Polarizer without Vignette?

A: If filter diameter on your lens is 72 mm there will be no vignett with any 72 mm filter. Vignetting only occurs if the lens does not match crop factor for camera.Hope this helps.

Q: 2. This filter has a 72mm filter thread. So, is it same to assume that a lens cap will also be 72mm?

A: That's correct, Lenscap is 72mm. This filter lives on my camera almost permanently. Worth every cent!

Q: 3. Does this filter vignette with a Panasonic 8-18 lens at 8mm with gh5s?

A: This is a 72mm filter, the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. Lens has a 67mm filter thread. Instead you would need BH #BWNDVXSP67 for that lens. https://bhpho.to/2YH9VNd

Q: 4. Will it fit inside of the Canon 200mm f/2?

A: If your camera lens has a diameter of 52mm, then it should fit....The lens mm diameter is compatible with any filter with the same mm diameter it claims to have. Hope this helps!

Q: 5. Can you tell me the total thickness of the B+W 43mm MRC Basic Circular Polarizing Filter, please?

A: B+W 43mm MRC Basic Circular Polarizing Filter is 6.5mm thick without messuring the threads. With the threads the filter has a total height of 9.5mm.

Q: 6. Does it come with a lens cap?

A: No it does not. I purchased an 82mm one separately.

Q: 7. Is this filter fine or coarse thread?

A: The B+W 86mm MRC Basic Circular Polarizing Filter has a coarse thread.

Q: 8. The specs do not specify slim design, but the narrative description does. Is this definitively a slim design?

A: The B+W 95mm MRC Basic Circular Polarizing Filter does have a slim filter ring design. This filter is compatible with wide-angle lenses with an equivalent angle of view of a 17mm lens on a full frame camera.

Q: 9. Can screw on filters be stacked on top of the Nano 810 filter?

A: No you can not stack filters on top of this one. I would suggest that this be the last filter of the stack.

Q: 10. Can other filters screw on to the Nano filter to stack filters?

A: Unfortunately this filter is too thin to stack any more filters on top of it.

[Glass] Did not expect too much considering the price, but this filter appears to be just fine. Its quality is good and picture quality is exactly what one would expect from a graduated ND filter. I thought .9 (3 stops) would be a little too much filter for landscapes, but its just about right.

[0.175 lb] So happy I purchased this, since I shoot a lot of sunrise and sunset photos!
I am very happy with it and highly recommend it!

[Brass] As usual with Firecrests, top quality at a very good price. Ultra slim with rotating glass, very neutral (albeit a very slight, almost unnoticable yellow tint)
4 stops is great, graduation is very smooth. helps alot shooting video on canon 1dx mkii getting more DR on select shots !

[0.175 lb] Sturdy, quality glass filter. Very subtle filter. I will probably have to stack this some other filters to get the shots I want.

[Brass] Very good

[Glass] Yes, one can use gradients in Lightroom but I really like being able to control my skies in the field for Landscape photography. HDR effect without software. Also like it for future B&W photographs and prints where skies/clouds are major part of the scene.

[Brass] This filter is optically correct and does not distort anything on my 28-300mm Nikkor or my 17-35mm Nikkor on sunrise and sunset shots or shots with a bright sky that needs damping down. I'm very pleased with the results and I believe it performs just as well as more expensive filters I have purchased from other sources in the past.

[0.175 lb] Pros: Once fall down from a cliff about 30 meters high to the ground(soft soils) and still works! Amazing mechanical quality! It has been glued to my Fuji 10-24 for landscape for a long time.
Cons: Not very dirt or stain proof, still needs to be cleaned quite often. It is quite fingerprints proof though.
BTW: The B+W step up ring should take the main responsibility for the accident. No way could I imagine after years of them staying together, could they fall apart. After all, the step up ring always tend to get stuck with many of my filters on.
