Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to add thermocouple in standard version?

A: FLIR TG54 Spot IR Thermometer with Standard Input (NIST Certified), BH # FLTG54NIST will not accept a thermocouple probe. Please consider the FLIR TG56 Spot IR Thermometer with Thermocouple Input (NIST Certified), BH # FLTG56NIST.

A: Yes, click the link below to view; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/459158.pdf

Q: 3. Does this tool have a level?

A: Hi Carol, Yes, macOS 10.15 Catalina is fully supported :) Best,. Dave

Q: 5. Can you use this tool for calibrating a film camera...range finder or SLR?

Q: 7. In What country is this meter assembled?

A: The FLIR DM93 True RMS Industrial Multimeter is made in Taiwan.

Q: 8. Once I have the number on the ruler, how do I compute the micro adjustments on my canon 5d MK IV?

A: In your camera's menu, find the AF Microadjustment settings and adjust the numbers to compensate for the front-focusing or back-focusing of your lens. Essentially, it's most accurate if you go back and forth between testing on the Vello LENS-2020 and adjusting (throughout the range of the lens if it's a zoom) in order to make sure your lens isn't front/back focusing.

Q: 9. Will it work with a Sony a7ii

A: According to the following page on Reikan's site https://blog.reikanfocal.com/2015/05/reikan-focal-2-test-release-2-now-available/, we should be able to use Reikan Focal Pro in “File Mode” with Sony A7 series files. However, I get an error message saying it is an unsupported camera whenever I try. From the page: “So if you want to calibrate a Sony 70-400 using an LA-EA4 on a Sony A7 camera, or check out the aperture sharpness results for a completely manual vintage Zuiko Jupiter 8 lens, you can do it easily now with File Mode!” Note: I'm using version 2.4 but this was announced in version 2.0

Q: 10. What’s Type of material is this made of?

A: The Vello LENS-2020 Lens Calibration Tool is plastic.

[Battery] Set up my Cello 2020 and performed my first test and adjustment.
The Cello proved what Was beginning to suspect near focusing with my Nikor 20-35 2.8. Adjusted and it has been dead on since then.

[Battery] It's an Excellent, basic, minimal home inspection thermal camera. The fluke software improves the image over better resolution cameras of other manufacturers. But it has limitations without focus and minimal resolution. We purchased as an inexpensive additional thermal for my inspection company. It's 5 stars for its intended purposes. But it has limited resolution. It's not a 3,000 dollar camera. But at 1 k it was not intended to be.

[Battery] If you need a lens calibration tool (and if you're reading this you probably do) this one is a well built, well thought out one that is half the price of some of the other ones. It's a tedious process but sometimes it needs to be done.

[Battery] Works well without spending a lot of money on more expensive tools. It comes with a pouch and folds flat for storage.

[Battery] What a great value from Vello!  It confirmed my suspicions that one of my lenses was back-focusing.  After careful leveling (thank you, Vello, for the two bubble-levels on the base), alignment between the tool and my camera, and patience, I’m good to go.  I also used it on all my other lenses and it confirmed they were fine.

The included pouch for the tool was a nice touch and the build quality of the tool is also very good.  The price makes this an excellent value.  One can spend twice as much or more for other brands and not receive any better results than this.  Five stars.

[Battery] Pro level build quality at a very reasonable price. I use it for power amplifier diagnostics, but it seems to have unlimited uses. Very well designed and useful device.

[Battery] Interesting tool. I've never tried the cardboard ones but I was willing to spend the extra money for something that looked like it would work a little better. Impressive packaging, bag for storage, well made!
