Q: 1. I am looking for a tripod collar for a Nikkor 300mm f.4.5 AIS, the barrel I.D. is 60mm and the band with is 25mm and it will have a 1.4-20 mounting hole.

A: Unfortunately we do not carry any tripod collars that are specifically designed for your Nikon 300mm f4.5 AIS lens. The collars we do carry are all proprietary for other lenses. We do carry a product from Manfrotto which you could consider which is basically a solution for large lenses that should have a tripod collar. It can be made to fit many different lenses. See the link below for detailshttp://bhpho.to/KwdXlA

Q: 2. Will this work on a canon EF 100-400 with an existing collar and plate? The plate has one screw.

A: The Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (5") would be too long for use with the Canon 100-400mm lenses. As an alternative, if you own the original push/pull Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM Lens, the Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (2.5"), B&H # ACQRLP2.5, would be the correct lens plate for your usage needs. If you own the new twist-zoom Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens, then the Acratech 3.5" Lens Plate for Canon, B&H # ACLPC3.5, would be the correct lens plate for your usage needs.

Q: 3. Does this head still come with the PX-6 plate, although it is discontinued? Are 1/4 or 3/8 screws included?

A: The ProMediaGear GKJr Katana Pro Aluminum Gimbal Head comes with the PX6 plate and 2 1/4-20 screws.

Q: 4. Is it compatible with Canon ef 500 IS II? Thanks

A: Yes, the ProMediaGear Lens Foot for Canon Telephoto Lenses is compatible with the Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS II USM Lens (B&H # CA5004LISEF2).

Q: 5. Does this plate have safety stops?

A: No, the Acratech 4" telephoto quick release plate does not have safety stops/screws/pins.

Q: 6. Can I use this with a Nikon 200-500 mm telephoto lens, the lens tripod collar only has one hole?

A: Yes, you can use the 4 lens plate #2131 with the Nikon 200-500mm lens. The plate comes with 2 screw to be used with lenses that have more than 1 threaded hole.

Q: 7. Does the end plate prevent rotation with a Nikon 200-500 mm telephoto lens?

A: Yes it does. This plate also comes with 2 screws. You can use the extra screw if your lens has 2 mounting holes. This will also prevent rotation.

Q: 8. I just purchased the Tamron SP 150-600 from you and now find that the lens foot is not compatible with my tripod ball head. I am interested in this or similar (6 ) as I will possibly be purchasing a gimbal head later which would require the longer plate. My question though is this plate shows two screws but my lens foot only has one. Does this mean that I must order a shorter plate to get one with one screw or is the second screw removable and not needed? Thanks for your help.Paul Sorrells

A: The screws do come out of the quick release plate. Six inches is a bit too long for that lens and this one would be a better choice for an Arca-Swiss style quick release plate for that lens,Wimberley P30 Quick Release PlateB&H # WIQRPP30 Mfr # P-30http://bhpho.to/VwdNk1

Q: 9. Can this be used on the canon RF 600 mm F/4?

A: Yes, the Acratech Quick Release Plate for Telephoto Lenses (4") can be used with the Canon RF 600mm f/4 L IS USM Lens.

Q: 10. Use a Nikon camera 80-400 lens and a battery pack do i need a larger plate do u have to buy it separate ?

A: The GKJr Katana Jr. Gimbal comes complete with the ProMediaGear PX6 6 inch long lens balancing plate. It should be a good plate for your lens. If you feel you need additional length we also manufacture an 8 inch model, PX8.

[7.7 x 4 x 1.6"] I have the wimberely, a CB and the jobu jr 3, I wish I'd bought this first. It's well engineered, extremely stable and smooth and, lightweight for travel. If you are looking, I'd get this and be done.

[Yes] Fantastic lightweight gimbal. Replaced my wimberley gimbal with this and have no regrets. Very well made and supports my R5 with 600 f4 lens attached nicely.

[Yes] If you use a small led video light (example: GVM SD80d) that has a babypin receiver, this is the grip needed for hand-held use.

[Aluminum] Needed something to mount one of my Paul C. Buff Einstein strobes to so that I could manually fire the flash in product photography. This is just what I needed.

[Aluminum] Excellent gimbal head. Lightweight and very smooth. I should have bought one sooner. It is very easy to use and allows for a quick reaction time when photographing wildlife as panning left and right and up and down is simple and fast with the camera and lens always at the ready. I use it with a Canon R5 with battery grip and RF 600mm f/4 lens and 1.4 ext. Works great with this set up as well as Canon 5DSR with battery grip and EF 300mm f/2.8 + 1.4 ext. For smaller lenses I can pair with a nodal slide and am able to use this gimbal for landscapes as well as wildlife photography. I've used it almost daily for the past three weeks photographing birds, deer and the full moon and am very pleased with the ProMediaGear GKJr Katana Pro. Highly recommend.

[Yes] After losing hundred of dollars on cheap and some not so cheap gimbal heads and never being happy I found the PMG katana JR it is IMO by for the best gimbal i have own out there!! I have used it in all kinds of conditions from - 48 in Yellowstone with no freezing up to the hot salty climate here on south Texas beaches and never a problem!!!! The only time I had a problem was on a trip to Yellowstone for the elk run. TSA dropped my Katana JR and broke off one of the knobs locking it up. Once i opened up my gearbox and saw my gimbal broke in two pieces I figured my trip was going to be a ruff one. Being I was shoot a 1DXMKll with a 600F4ISll a pretty heavy rig. So I called up PMG and spoke with Tom one of the owners. I told him my problem and he ask if i had any tools to work on it which I didn't. Tom said he would go over night the part and the tools I needed to fix my gimbal and he would personally drive them down to the shipping company so that he knew everything would get to me. Well the next day everything showed up the parts and tools that I needed to fix my gimbal saving my trip!!!!!! Not many companies were you can call up with a problem, have the owner answer and then have him go out of his way to make sure you are taken care of even when the problem wasn't his fault. But Tom at Promediagear did just that and saved my trip!!!!!!!!!

[Yes] The Promediagear Lens Foot fits my Canon RF 100-300 f/2.8L perfectly. It’s about 1/16” shorter in height than the OE foot and a full 7” long. It is well made of quality materials and the finish is perfect. If I have any complaint, it is with the edges when handholding, it is less comfortable than the stock canon foot. It would be nice if a neoprene cover was available to help with handholding. I’m happy with my purchase and would buy it again if needed.
