A 1.5x squeeze ratio is a perfect balance between the size and anamorphic intensity. With a 1.5x squeeze ratio, you will have a 2.66:1 on a 16:9 sensor after de-squeeze. There is also room for you to crop into a 2.4:1 widescreen ratio.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How much does the lens weigh?

A: The lens weighs 11.04 ounces / 313 grams.

Q: 2. Will this enable an MFT-mount Nanomorph to fit on an EF-mount camera?

A: When using the Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 Lens the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 Interchangeable Bayonet (Canon EF) will allow the lens to mount to Canon EF mount cameras.

Q: 3. Will this lens work perfectly with Lumix S1H?

A: This lens has a Leica L mount, which does not allow it to inherently work perfectly with the S1H.

Q: 4. will they work on Z Cam E2-F6 Pro Full frame camera?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens is an S35 sensor sized lens. It would not be a good choice for a Full frame camera like the Z CAM E2-F6.

Q: 5. What is the image circle?

A: The Vazen 85mm T2.8 1.8x Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens (PL/EF-Mount) has an image circle of 43mm.

Q: 6. Can you still put a matte box on this lens?

A: Yes. Any 4x4 or 4x5 matte box would be a great combo for this lens Please review the following item Tilta 4 x 4" Carbon Fiber Matte Box BH #TIMBT03 • MFR #MB-T03 https://bhpho.to/36thrW9

Q: 7. this lens can used to vistavision sensor? no any issue?

A: The DZOFILM VESPID 16mm T2.8 Cine Lens (PL & EF Mounts) is intended for "full-frame" sized sensors. As Vista Vision sensors are slightly larger than full-frame sensors, we cannot recommend it for full sensor capture from a Vista Vision sensor. There would likely be some vignetting.

Q: 8. Will it work well with a Red Raven ?

A: The Vazen Full-Frame Anamorphic Lens is meant for Vista Vision sensors like the RED Monstro but it will cover the RED Raven Super35 sensor.

Q: 9. What is the Angle of VIew?

A: The DZOFilm VESPID 12mm T2.8 Cine Lens (ARRI PL & Canon EF) Field of view, is 112.6 horizontally and 90 vertically.

Q: 10. Although it is not a recommended lens from DJI, wouldn't this theoretically fit on the zenmuse x5s sensor for the inspire 2?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 27mm T2.8 1.5x S35 Anamorphic Lens (MFT Mount, Blue Flare) is too large to be balanced by the gimbal on the DJI Inspire 2.

[1.5x] I am truly amazed by the images these lenses can produce for the price and size! If you are looking for lenses that don't look sterile and have some character to them without having to sell all your possessions to afford them, then these are absolutely the lenses for you!

[T2.8] I am not really able to compare it to the others in the set yet… but it’s a safe bet this is the weakest of the 4 or 3if FF only. Partially just from to the focal length not conveying the look as strong as the wider lenses but also it really works best stopped down a tad…as it’s rather soft wide open. However I am def still very impressed by the overall quality and quality of these… they don’t feel cheap just small … shockingly small. The 100mm in PL is smaller than my RF 50mm f1.2! Impressed by this but it comes at the cost of some obvious chromatic aberrations… still for the money this is great and 1.5x may seem to enough squeeze the bokeh and flares look very anamorphic to my eyes shockingly so.
If you order just one maybe the 45mm 65mm or if your on smaller than 17mm high S35 sensors… get the 35mm . This lens great but don’t make it your only option.

[Super35/APS-C] Great value for the price. The aesthetics of the images achieved are beautiful. It would be nice to have a detailed manufacturer's video of the mount change from PL to EF.

[T2.8] Ive used the 27mm for a while and was convinced I needed something a bit closer for my kit. Great tool to have and compliments the the other lenses as well for both my Komodo and R5C! Very little distortion, barely any breathing and the silver flare is not obnoxious! Recommend these lenses as they are small and light and great intro to the bigger and beefier vintage anamoprhics.

[1.5x] I film architecture and this easily replaced my Tokina 11-20 and I am more than happy to have done it. This is easily my new favorite lens. Well made and pretty rugged. There is nothing cheap about this lens.

The image is so wide and pleasing.

[2.36 lb] First off, there's a review with 1 start saying ( Not for professional use ) - I think that's an irresponsible opinion, without any room for subjectiveness. Since the definition of a professional really is nothing more than someone who is being paid for their work, you can't just say not for professional use, when there are many types of looks in demand by clients looking for exactly what these produce. I'd say these are definitely lenses for professionals in the right situation.

Quick mentiontions (tough body and mounts, strong gears, very controlled flaring, and ultra light).

I am not saying these are the best tools for every job, and I agree that there are some issues regarding the lenses distortion - which are easily noticeable in review videos (evidently the other person didn't study before buying), which for me, has all be quickly addressable in an editor with limited adjustments if I decided to correct it.

However, I have already had a few clients, including my own personal work, where the look and feel these lenses with the distortion they create is preferred, it added a feel to the image, it was the deciding factor to use these for the productions actually (feature films), it added a driving mood that complimented the narrative - so when I say they are a tool, I am simply saying - understand what your tools have to offer, and you will know if they are the right ones for the jobs, and in those cases, these lenses are phenomenal. They are a little too sharp for my typical feel, but I slapped a custom made filter in my matte box, and they have become the perfect look for my film making aesthetic.

Study these lenses on YouTube, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make sure those strengths align with your objective - if they do, BUY THESE - I love mine.

[Yes] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[2.36 lb] Conversion with supplied EF mount was not too difficult. Fit is perfect. Love this affordable option for shooting anamorphic. Ordered the Laowa Venus 1.33x front anamorphic adapter to get a 2x squeeze out of it. Because of the availability delay on the adapter I can't report on the two together yet. But at a 1.5x squeeze I'm pretty impressed. Every review on youtube has been pretty spot on so no need to repeat it here.

[25.6 mm] I have a set of Sony CineAlta lenses that work with this really well. Any lens that has a ~14mm or shorter protrusion from the PL mount tabs will fit. The lenses are clinically sharp, and it doesn't look like any of that sharpness is really lost with this. I recently took this in to Atlas to try their anamorphic lenses alongside, and they have definitely a look whereas this preserves the look one gets from the taking lenses. The flares are very spherical, and the bokeh is round until you get to the edge of the view. It's fun to use, and the guys at Atlas thought it was cool. I recently shot a movie with this and the CineAlta lenses, and it all went well.
