A: The aperture ring on the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.4 Lens for FUJIFILM X does not click.

Q: 3. Does this give exif data?

A: Being that this lens does not offer any electronic contacts, EXIF data is not transmitted into the camera.

Q: 6. Hi! I'm just wondering if it's really a full frame lens and not a typo? I can't find any information on 7artisans site. Thanks!

A: Yes, the artisans Photoelectric 35mm is a full frame lens unit. End-users must be mindful that L-mount exists in two versions, an APS-C version and a full-frame version.

Q: 7. Has anyone tried tested this on the Leica CL or Minolta CLE and know if the lens blocks the rangefinder focus window or not?

A: Unfortunately, both the Leica CL Mirrorless Camera and the Leitz Minolta CLE Rangefinder 35mm Film Camera have both been discontinued and are no longer available for purchase new. Neither camera has been tested for usage with the 7artisans Photoelectric M35mm f/1.4 Lens for Leica M. Q: 10. Compatible with the Olympus OMD em10 mark iv?

A: One would need to get this lens in the correct mount for the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV Mirrorless Camera. Keep in mind this is a manual lens, and aperture and focus would need to be controlled manually.

[Sony E] Amazing lens! manual of course, but excellent quality and sharpness

[49 mm (Front)] Our shortest lens was a 70mm and we had a one time need for a wide angle lens to shoot in available light and a small budget. It's sharp and it was sort of fun shooting a non-autofocus lens.

[49 mm (Front)] This exceeded my expectations. A very sharp lens that makes it easy to get a wide angle shallow DOF. It also works well for video (In my opinion) since it has hard aperture stops and has a smooth yet well friction based focus ring. Also great build quality.

[f/1.4] I use this on a Sony A7iii, I have no experience using it on half frames, but I would imagine there would be significant vignetting. Build is rock solid, very heavy, all steel and glass. Focus and aperture rings move as smoothly as I have ever used on a lens. Focus is super easy with the Sony manual focus assist (the little dancing dots) and very accurate.

Biggest problem? Can't truly focus to infinity. Not a problem because that's not what I wanted it for. I wanted something that had more of a "film camera" look to it, as the native Sony lenses I have, while great lenses, are a little "a sterile". I have found that "film" filters and presets are often too over the top, needed something more natural. This lens is exactly what I needed. For $200, you really can't go wrong, as long as you understand what this lens is for. My only gripe is that I wish it was 50-75mm range, honestly 35mm is a bit wider than I really wanted, but I would never give this lens up. I have totally fallen in love with it.

[9] I really loved the lens! Had a really small budget but this has fulfilled my needs. Looking for a fast 35mm as 50mm is too narrow for me. Rarely used autofocus so a manual focus only lens suits me well.

[43°] It's a good lens, solid construction, and nice and compact.

[APS-C] I enjoy using manual lenses on my Fuji cameras, and this one's a bargain. At this price point, I can hardly ask for more.

I had previously used the 7Artisans 35mm f0.95 lens, which I found too bulky and heavy, plus more than double the price.

This lens fits what I needed just right. It feels solidly built without being overly heavy, considering it's metal and glass. It mounts and balances well on the X-T2, even better than the kit 18-55, which is mostly plastic. The focus ring is smooth and precise and I don't mind the aperture ring being clickless, since the aperture data isn't transmitted to the camera anyway.

Image quality is better than expected for the price. At less than a sixth of the price of Fuji's own 35mm f1.4, I'd say it offers 90% of the image quality. Corner sharpness isn't as good wide-open and of course it doesn't Autofocus, but for non pixel-peepers like myself, this is hardly worth spending $500+ more.

My one complaint is the hood doesn't clip or screw on, and simply falls off if turned upside down. I picked up a replacement separately.

I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive, manual-focus standard lens. Using it has been great fun so far.

[43°] This is a great little lens. Heavier than expected, but in a good way. Doesn't feel cheaply made and smooth controls. Would definitely buy again I like it that much. Great little lens.

[Sony E] Just to clear up some probable confusion -- this is not a photoelectric lens. The full name of the company is 7artisans Photoelectric, although this is not shown anywhere on their logo.

As far as the lens is concerned, it is of course manual focus and a great value for the money. If you need something for a low light cinematic look, this is a good bet. Naturally, nailing focus at f/1.4 is a challenge but the results are pleasing when you get it. The packaging is great and the build quality feels solid. Even the lens cap is metal, which I found shocking. The aperture ring clicks but it's a very smooth and quiet click, suitable for both stills and video.
