Once installed, it will be positioned a bit in front of your shoulder though. Q: 10. Can you use a RED Epic Dragon 6k (DSMC1) with this?

A: This rig is really geared more towards DSLRs and compact video cameras. You could use a RED Epic on it, but it would not be ideal.

[Metal] I've been wanting to get a pair of these for a while. I think Shape makes the best hand grips. I paired two of these with my C500 MK II and it's been a great investment. 5

[Metal] I had my doubts about this gizmo but now that I've used it I can't imagine ever NOT using it. I have a SHAPE shoulder rig that I was, frankly, reluctant to use because it was difficult to balance and when I did balance it, I had to use a five-pound counterweight which, of course, adds five pounds to the rig. I had an important shoot that required a shoulder rig, so I got this support arm hoping it would help. IT'S AWESOME! I can leave the counterweight behind. The rig is amazingly stable and I can even take my hands off the grips with complete confidence. The arm has a spring section that seemed a little random to me at first, but I've learned that it provides just the right amount of resistance so you can pull down slightly on the handles and it tightens up the whole rig to remove all the hand-held jitter. Doesn't replace a steady-cam, but it's great in those situations where you need to do a little movement without being obviously hand-held. 5

[Red] I just bought the FS7. I purchased the SHAPE system for support. The ARRI Rosette is the best part of the whole system. I LOVE IT. It is so versatile. And the ability to push the red release button and swivel the handle up and down is awesome. I actually use the handle WITH OUT the extension bar. I bought another handle just to have it for the other side of the rig in case I want 2 handles...one on each side. 5

[Metal] I have been building rigs with a variety of parts from different manufacturers over the past few years. This telescopic support arm finally makes my rig very functional and easy to move around with. Although I already had a weight to put on the back of the shoulder pad, I had to continue holding the handles all of the time I had the camera on my shoulder. This rod is easy to adjust, easy to tighten or loosen- and it keeps everything steady with little effort on my part. The fact that it has an internal spring adds some flexibility; I can leave it loose and just pull down on the handles when I shoot. I also have a good place now for my Libec remote control unit its controls are in easy reach of the handles. I should have gotten this sooner, but I kept thinking that I could cobble something together out of odds and ends. SHAPE machines things very well; no way that I could match this on my own. 5
