The 6” Lemo EDW to Duplex ST Fiber & 6-Pin Reverse Gender Chassis Mount Inline Breakout Cable from Camplex is an internal distribution breakout cable for panel mounting in blank panels or as a replacement in hybrid devices. It is a pre-terminated SMPTE hybrid breakout cable with a LEMO 3K.93C connector feeding out to both duplex ST optical connectors and a reverse gender, chassis mount 6-Pin AMP connector for power. This cable is suitable for use in SMPTE rack panels, splice trays, adapters, and wall boxes. This breakout series cable is UPC machine polished to meet or exceed all SMPTE 304M/311M standards.

This composite cable integrates the control line and optical fiber for video and audio transmission. The cable is standardized by SMPTE for HDTV Broadcast camera use. It consists of 2 single-mode optical fibers, four 20 AWG, and two 24 AWG tinned copper conductors cabled around a steel strength element, with an overall tinned copper braid. This general purpose cable is used for studios, patching, and light to medium field use. A flexible PVC blend jacket allows for ease of use within the studio.

A: It will not, this is an Atomos LEMO Type cable. It is not compatible with other brands.

Q: 3. Can this power Teradek or SmallHD from the 2-pin 12v on the Alexa 35 camera? I've heard polarity of cables vary by brand.

A: When using the 2-pin 12v power output on the ARRI Alexa 35 camera, it can power devices with 2A of power. It would depend specifically which Teradek or SmallHD unit would need to be powered, as some require more capacity, however, the Tilta 2-Pin to 2-Pin LEMO Cable (23-), would be appropriate for 12v 2A devices.

Q: 4. So when you get this xlr breakout cable and connect it to a atomos ninja flame you still get the quality of xlr microphone ? since the ninja flame just the have the xlr input?

A: Hello Shopper, the Lemo type connector is only for the Shogun units such as the Shogun, Shogun Flame and soon to be Shogun Inferno. The Ninja Flame uses a 3.5mm audio jack.

A: Hi,This Audio break out is just for the Shogun range of Products. The Ninja Assassin only has a line live 3.5mm Jack in put.

A: The Transvideo Mini 2-Pin LEMO to Mini 2-Pin Lemo Male Coiled Cable for StarliteHD on RED does provide the correct 2-Pin connection as those used on Teradek and SmallHD products. All those products use the standard Arri pinout configuration: pin 1 is ground, and pin 2 is positive.

[EDW] I bought the Atomos XLR breakout cable for use with a Shogun 7 monitor/recorder/switcher. The breakout cable does not come standard with this, nor other compatible Atomos devices. This cable facilitates use of a professional (balanced) audio source at -10 to +4 dB line levels, as well as a balanced, line level output. This signal is automatically synchronized with video recordings from up to four sources (Shogun 7). I normally record using 4-6 microphones, and plan to feed a 2-channel stereo mix to the Shogun. 5

[LEMO (SMPTE)] I use this breakout cable to connect a mixer board or recorder (e.g., Zoom F8) to a Shogun 7, for professional balanced audio, synchronized with video as it is recorded. 3.5 mm TRS connections are too fragile for professional use, and are generally unbalanced. 5

[6' / 1.8 m] Video always lags real time audio by about 1/15 second. You can often ignore it, or delay the audio to eliminate it altogether. The Shogun 7 records up to 4 cameras plus the switched program video. Injecting the sound at this point minimizes the lag. If you do it in a computer, for example, the video latency is not only much greater, but inconsistent depending on the processor and I/O loading. I record separately and sync in post. With this cable, you can use balanced outputs from the mixer, and all the videos are in sync. Thats less work at the bench. 5
