A 1.5x squeeze ratio is a perfect balance between the size and anamorphic intensity. With a 1.5x squeeze ratio, you will have a 2.66:1 on a 16:9 sensor after de-squeeze. There is also room for you to crop into a 2.4:1 widescreen ratio.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would these lens work with Canon R5c in full frame? If not, S35 mode?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle would only work correctly with S35 sized sensors or Full Frame sensors in S35 mode.

A: The following lens are optimized for Super 35 CMOS sensor and work very well with dslr as well.

Q: 3. Does this EF Bayonet work with speedboosters? Sometimes EF mounts have an extended protrusion that makes them incompatible

A: Yes, the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph 35mm T2.4 Interchangeable Bayonet (Canon EF) adapter would work with with Speed Boosters.

Q: 4. will they work on Z Cam E2-F6 Pro Full frame camera?

Q: 5. How far past the PL bayonet does the rear end extend?

A: The lenses in the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle (ARRI PL & Canon EF, Silver Flare) will extend 1 - 1.2cm beyond the PL mount.

Q: 6. Compatibility table shows Canon EOS 90D & various other dslrs. Do these lenses really clear the internal mirror of a 90D?

A: Yes, when the EF mount is put onto the lenses of the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle (ARRI PL & Canon EF, Silver Flare), they will mount correctly to EF cameras like the Canon EOS 90D.

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle could work if the R5C is set to S35 cropped sensor mode. The lenses would not work when the sensor is in full frame mode.

Q: 8. Is there enough clearance to use the EF lens with a RF adapter so I can use the lens on both my Blackmagic 6k and my Canon r6?

A: The EF versions of the Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Anamorphic Prime 3-Lens Bundle (Canon RF, Amber Flare) should be compatible with an EF to RF adapter, but it would be recommended to confirm clearance distances with your chosen adapter. The rear protrusion distances of the lenses can be found here: https://bhpho.to/40oviq5.

Q: 9. Does anyone know if using these lenses with an EF mount in conjunction with the EF to RF adapter on a Red Komodo would cause issues? Interested in using them that way because of the rear ND option.

A: The Venus Optics Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3-Lens Bundle (ARRI PL & Canon EF, Silver Flare) will work fine with an EF to RF adapter when mounted to a Red Komodo camera.

[Super35/APS-C] First off, there's a review with 1 start saying ( Not for professional use ) - I think that's an irresponsible opinion, without any room for subjectiveness. Since the definition of a professional really is nothing more than someone who is being paid for their work, you can't just say not for professional use, when there are many types of looks in demand by clients looking for exactly what these produce. I'd say these are definitely lenses for professionals in the right situation.

Quick mentiontions (tough body and mounts, strong gears, very controlled flaring, and ultra light).

I am not saying these are the best tools for every job, and I agree that there are some issues regarding the lenses distortion - which are easily noticeable in review videos (evidently the other person didn't study before buying), which for me, has all be quickly addressable in an editor with limited adjustments if I decided to correct it.

However, I have already had a few clients, including my own personal work, where the look and feel these lenses with the distortion they create is preferred, it added a feel to the image, it was the deciding factor to use these for the productions actually (feature films), it added a driving mood that complimented the narrative - so when I say they are a tool, I am simply saying - understand what your tools have to offer, and you will know if they are the right ones for the jobs, and in those cases, these lenses are phenomenal. They are a little too sharp for my typical feel, but I slapped a custom made filter in my matte box, and they have become the perfect look for my film making aesthetic.

Study these lenses on YouTube, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and make sure those strengths align with your objective - if they do, BUY THESE - I love mine.

[1.5x] Great value for the price. The aesthetics of the images achieved are beautiful. It would be nice to have a detailed manufacturer's video of the mount change from PL to EF.

[T2.4] The iPhone 15 Pro cameras are bigger, so add-on lenses have to be optimized for the new camera. (Stay away from budget lenses) I was happy to see it was sharp and in focus from corner to corner on my 15 Pro. The T-series mount is larger. Moment sells phones cases for the mount, and some iPhone cages have available adapter plates that can handle T-series mounts.
Mount the lens by twisting. Use the included hex key to align the lens so it's vertical.
The iPhone 15 Pro camera is already wide, so adding a 1.33x lens means we are approaching the ultra wide view of a GoPro. (You can punch in with the Blackmagic Camera app--so that gives you a range of options).
The gold anamorphic flares are stronger than the older models which is nice.
Worth the money.

[55 mm] These lenses have a constant 1.5x squeeze factor, which gives consistent results across the entire focus range and makes for reliable de-squeezing in post. Other affordable Anamorphic lens brands do not have a constant squeeze factor. This lens is clean with minimal chromatic aberration only at the very lowest T-stop. It is incredibly lightweight which is useful in run and gun productions. I cant speak for the PL mount, as those may have a bit more heft to them. Flaring is very gentle on the silver version and slightly more aggressive on the blue and amber versions. You cant go wrong with this lens. See attached example.

[55 mm] Blazar nailed this and no its not a perfect lens... but for under a grand ITS INSANE that a TINY and LIght-weight anamorphic getting you that old panavision c-d series aesthetic but you can actually own these. Are they 2x no obviously not - My Gemini is 30x18mm (rounded) and on 4 perf S35 ie larger S35 chips like my Red Gemini this Lens is a DREAM... Its definitely soft wide open as most vintage anamorphics are and has some CA and flaws but they are very organic... and although the squeeze isnt 2x the Bokeh are CLEARLY oval and the blue streaks (got the blue streak PL ) are great... I always think you need to see how SMALL they are to believe it I dont need a support on My Gemini or when using the FF on my Eos r5. I cant wait for rest have 100 and Hoping the 85 comes soon and then the 33mm FF But this one is a must if you can only buy one.

[55 mm] I used to have the Series T anamorphic lens for iphone, this one is a lot sharper, especially on the edge, and smoother color grading. And the gold flare is way better. I recommedn it

[T2.4] Ive used the 27mm for a while and was convinced I needed something a bit closer for my kit. Great tool to have and compliments the the other lenses as well for both my Komodo and R5C! Very little distortion, barely any breathing and the silver flare is not obnoxious! Recommend these lenses as they are small and light and great intro to the bigger and beefier vintage anamoprhics.

[Super35/APS-C] I am truly amazed by the images these lenses can produce for the price and size! If you are looking for lenses that don't look sterile and have some character to them without having to sell all your possessions to afford them, then these are absolutely the lenses for you!

[T2.4] Conversion with supplied EF mount was not too difficult. Fit is perfect. Love this affordable option for shooting anamorphic. Ordered the Laowa Venus 1.33x front anamorphic adapter to get a 2x squeeze out of it. Because of the availability delay on the adapter I can't report on the two together yet. But at a 1.5x squeeze I'm pretty impressed. Every review on youtube has been pretty spot on so no need to repeat it here.
