A: Barndoors can be useful for controlling the light spill. Depending on the position of the light to the camera they can be very good for keeping light off the lens.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Canon CR-N300?

A: They both specify compatibility with VISCA control protocol, so they may be configured to work together. However, we recommend sticking with Canon controllers for Canon PTZ cameras for a seamless experience.

I was surprised when I got these to discover there is a gasket of sorts on the fixture side that greatly helps reduce light leaks, especially if used in the closest gel frame slot. They feel well constructed and I am looking forward to many years of use with these. 5

Slots onto the Nova P300c easily. Doors are sufficiently stiff to stay in place. Does what it's supposed to do. 5

The barn door for the Taiko is finally here. They do what they are supposed to do. The primary way I will be using the barn doors is to avoid light spill when placing an extra diffuser disc, flag or panel in front of the Taiko, bouncing the light at a surface for indirect and extra diffused light source, or, also, when I want to prevent light hitting a ceiling or an object I'm trying to avoid being lit. The construction of this barn door is super heavy duty. It's all metal, from the frame to the doors, to the mounting platform. The mounting platform also features a strip rubber material to grip it well when latched. (See pictures). The Taiko features an extra second slide-down rail right next to the area the diffusion panels slide down. That's what I initially imagined the bard door would go when I got the Taiko. Like another reviewer also mentioned, I would rather have the "drop down slide" barn door system instead of the clamp-on to the frame design, but this clamp on barn door design works well too and it mounts very securely. Actually, I wouldn't mind if it were made of plastic. Sometimes plastic is good... But this barn door is very heavy duty and all in all, it does what it's supposed to do, control light spill and light shaping, which is the most important thing. I have also provided some pictures with my review with step by step instructions if you need, as this barn door comes with no instructions in the package (or at least for now it doesn't).
