Producers, musicians, and podcasters can record at home or on the go with the CAD CX2 Connect II, a portable 2x2 USB Type-C audio interface that combines quality sound with operational simplicity and a robust all-metal body. The two preamps with combo XLR-1/4" mic/instrument inputs enable you to record either two microphones or a combination of microphone and instrument, perfect for the singer/songwriter or a vocalist with an accompanying instrumentalist.

The CX2 Connect II lets you record at professional 24-bit / 96 kHz resolution. It offers 48V phantom power for use with studio condenser microphones and is fully USB bus-powered—no external power source required. A volume knob controls the level of the left and right 1/4" line outputs. There is also a headphone out with volume knob to monitor yourself while performing. For complete recording freedom, the interface is compatible with almost any recording software on Windows or Mac laptop or desktop computers.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the MiniFuse go into standby when the computer is put to sleep, or do the LEDs stay on all the time unless you unplug the USB cable?

A: The Arturia MiniFuse 2 Portable 2x2 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface will remain on as long there is voltage sent from the computer's USB port to the interface. When the computer goes to sleep, the interface will eventually shut down as well and the LEDs will also turn off.

Q: 2. Will the PreSonus Studio 24c work with Zoom or other video conferencing software?

A: Yes. The PreSonus Studio 24c Desktop 2x2 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface can be used to connect microphones to a computer and enable higher quality audio for Zoom and other audio/video conferencing applications, as well as for recording.

Q: 3. Looking for an audio interface to control the amount of latency up to 3 seconds of delay. Idea king it would be an audio to usb interface with a delay knob?

A: If you are trying to control the round trip latency of a source connected an interface- going through a DAW- and back to your headphones, you would need to adjust that in the buffer settings of the DAW you're recording into. If you are experiencing latency or "sync issues" between audio and video of a live stream, then you would need to adjust the Input Delay in the streaming software being used. (ie OBS, LiveStream Studio, etc.)

Q: 4. Is the Studio Artist one software included with the Presonus 24c only a trial version or is it a regular program? Also, is it cloud based?

A: Yes, all PreSonus professional recording products come with Studio One Artist recording and production software. It's the regular software, not a trial version, and not cloud based.

Q: 5. Would this work as a source for Zoom meetings?

A: Yes, the M-Audio AIR 192|4 Desktop 2x2 USB Type-C Audio Interface could be used as an audio source for Zoom conferencing to facilitate the connection of analog microphones and other external audio devices as desired.

Q: 6. How is volume to the headphone out controlled? (is it a static, but quasi-controlled via gain or adjusted by output knob?

A: The headphone volume control on the Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 is controlled by the knob labeled 'Output'. It is the knob that is farthest to the right, on top of the interface.

Q: 7. does this interface work with the rode nt1 without a separate preamp? can i use this interface with beyerdynamic DT 990 pro 250 ohm version?

A: Yes, the Arturia MiniFuse 2 Portable 2x2 USB Type-C Audio/MIDI Interface can be used with the Rode NT1 Large Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser Microphone. The interface has built-in mic preamps and the ability to supply phantom power to the microphone. The 250 ohm Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro Headphones do work with the MiniFuse 2 at an acceptable volume level, but if you find that you need more power for higher output levels and more headroom, then you will want to use a separate headphone amp.

Q: 10. Which audio interface has the best quality?Presonus 96, Presonus 24c, Steinberg ur22c, Tascam hr 22 or Arturia minifus1 ?

A: "Quality" is not something that can be objectively measured from a device's specs, but out of the interfaces mentioned the Steinberg UR22C's converters have the highest bit depth at 32-bit and the most available gain (60 dB) on its mic inputs.

[1x USB-C] I'm using this unit to receive an SPIDF feed from my studio converters and it takes that SPDIF signal and sends it to my laptop via USB. I use the laptop to stream as I mix for clients so they can listen anywhere they have internet. This unit worked right out of the box, hooked up the cables and it was good to go. Can't comment on sound quality as I'm not using it's conversion.

[24-Bit] I was looking for a way to fix the lag issues with playing my guitar through a laptop and saw several people recommend the M-Audio AIR 192/4. It worked right out of the box - NO MORE LAG. I'm a complete novice, so i don't use it for recording. But I'm excited by the possibilties. (Also, thanks to B&H Photo for selling this at a fair price. I've seen it go for 40% more on other online merchants)

[2] I got it a few days ago and have recorded piano and sax with it using an SM57. This little interface sounds great. Im very happy with it, super easy to use and with my Mac to it is completely plug and play. Also makes for a very nice desktop DAC.

[1x USB-C] Has everything you need for a 2 input audio interface (2x mono or 1x stereo). Comes with added bonus of usb at the back to power my midi controller. Separate monitor and headphone volume and drives my hd6xx just fine. Instantly recognized by DAWs on both my mac and pc, no problems with aggregate devices with mac audio or asio4all. Feels solid and looks great. Minor issues are that the bundled cable is quite short. Recommend as a budget / starter interface as long as you are ok with 1x stereo or 2x mono input. I have a larger interface but it's not portable so I bring this along with my midi controller and macbook in my backpack when I need to move around, very convenient.

[2x Knob] I'm no pro and don't have much to compare it to, but I like my new inferface. For my pc setup this was one of the only choices that had a rear xlr input hence my choice. Knobs feel good. Only down side I see is it collects dust like crazy.

[24-Bit] Super simple to use. Plugged it in and it was up and running. Controls are easy to see....like that there's a meter on the front. The introductory Studio One Artist software that comes with it is awesome. Im sold on PreSonus.
