[Collapsible] Pro level light for a fraction of the cost. This light is sturdy and super well built. The color accuracy is insane. Added with their app Sidus it’s a beast. For its size it’s pretty heavy but not overbearing one person can easily handle it.

[Collapsible] I have 4 of these on a network TV series and they are a great lightweight soft source for use behind large diffusion. Half the weight and profile of an s60 on a combo stand and almost as much light output. Recently had a controller fail and after touching base with Aputure, they had a replacement shipped to me free of charge.

[Collapsible] I believe this is the perfect back/fill light more than enough power and the ability to turn it to any color to match the ambience in any room is great. I have 2 of them now and I think they are a good light to have.


If you're looking to have this as a key light it may not have the power you're hoping for.

[White] Never in my career have I been as excited by a light as this one. I own a significant amount of lights (Aladdin's, Arri M18's, Titan tubes, Digital Sputniks, Quasars, Creamsouce and a bunch of Aputure 300d mk2'), many of which I purchased by Luke Seerveld's Meet the Gaffer channel (thanks Luke). The juicy spectrum for rendering, the incredibly reliable app (aside from starting a new account, that sucked), the effects, the light source library, and the fun you have with the light picker... It's nothing shy of revolutionary. Not to mention the build quality.

I've already bought 5 and am purchasing 5 more. My lighting cart will be x5 300d, x5 Nova, and x3 of the 600d, all controlled by a single app. The DP/Gaffer dream has finally happened. Thanks Aputure (no they did not pay me for this)!

[White] Worth the penny! EXCELLENT product! Very nervous spending this much amount but after setting it up and seeing the results I'm so happy. Its worth penny. It's usage with Sidus app make more ease of use.

[Collapsible] It took forever to get my pre-order. But I knew the quality would be worth it. I haven't used it on a job yet, but I have full confidence in this unit. Yes it's large, so have a good stand for it. I actually took the initiative to order a combo stand and a low-boy combo so I could have full confidence in a sturdy stand at both low and high positions. C-stands are fine but DO NOT use a standard light stand.

[14 lb] Basically this is a Skypanel 45 that is cheaper than a Skypanel 30. It’s that good. Aputure is doing a phenomenal job. Extremely intuitive to use and beautiful high quality light. The app integration is very useful and easy to use as well. I have not hooked it up to DMX yet so I can’t speak as to its capabilities there. Aputure has already updated the Battery input based on feedback from Gear and Gaffer’s review. The unit I received has 3-pin xlr for the battery input. This means it does not need an adapter and will fit with the standard cords used with industry standard battery inputs. The case is wonderful and it looks like it has an extra spot to fit the dual battery power bay they just released. I’ll know for sure when I receive it. Highly recommend. I will probably buy another soon.

[White] Approaching the 4 year anniversary of buying this light, shortly after product release. Didn't research it, hadn't heard of it. The sales professional told me about it since sky panels were out of stock. I've had it run for about 8000 hours at this point. No issues. Main applications are broadcast and corporate video, interviews, seminars, and office presentations. It's strong enough to key. Barn doors at all times. Waited over a year for backorder on those but now it's been a couple years since the softbox went back on. After the workday, this light still gets some use for ambience, blue light on plants. Really cool light. Candle/fire in the evening, chilling with friends/family. Matches nicely to led lights with a bowens mount like 300 series aputure, nanlite, etc. Got 3-5 of those on a rack at any given time, depending on what's in the truck. The Nova p300c stays on a c-stand. It's as much an extension of my hands as the main camera/tripod. Another reviewer said it's a Swiss army knife. That's correct. I thought I would get more of this light, and I would, but really have not needed it. My favorite thing about this light is that I never have to think about it. I just carry it by the yoke, no case (sits up flat, solid, heavy enough. May put it on an apple box if I'm worried about the surface/moisture. Throw this in the truck with a good workhorse ENG shoulder cam and solid sticks. C-stand, sandbag. Light modifiers. In and out with one bag. Same tool every time.

[Collapsible] I now have 4 of them and can't wait to get more of their line up. The build quality, light output is truly amazing.

I wish more companies would take a cue from Aputure and include a well-thought-out custom case for a reasonable price. Aputure really hit the mark on all fronts with this light!
