Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work on a Billingham Hadley Small?

A: unfortunately no these are compatible with the 5 series /7 series and f stop series of billingham bags

Q: 2. Can a tripod be attached, using straps, to the side of the Rucksack where the Avea pockets can be attached?

A: Yes straps can be slid through the side leather.

Q: 3. Will the Canon 1DX MkIi fit in this bag while attached to a lens? My 1DX is 6.5 tall while the specs for this bag say 5.1 interior depth. I'm Assuming there will be flex and give to the cloth and padding but will it be enough?

A: I just bought a store demo version of this and my 1DX II does fit inside this bag. I had a hard time getting the correct answer so I am adding to this. I have a 70-200 2.8 with hood reversed attached to the camera, the camera strap (Peak Design) tucked behind. I also have a 24-70 ii 2.8 in the bag with hood reversed facing down towards the back of the bag. And a small flash, an extra battery. There's some room between the top of the camera and the top flap which allows the camera to fit. There's still room because the zipper is NOT stretched tight at all and it opens/closes smoothly. This is not a large backpack but it certainly holds just the amount of gear I need without breaking my back.

Q: 4. Are the red straps red? They look orange.

A: According to the manufacturer, the color is listed as Arches Red.

Q: 5. Compatible with Hadley Pro? I don't see where the straps can be attached to the bag.

A: unfortunately these are not compatible with the hadley pro.

Q: 6. IS THERE ROOM FOR THE PEOPHOTO A1X?

A: Yes, it you include 1 body and 1 or 2 lenses.

Q: 7. Is there enough depth for 1dx mk ii to fit with a lens attached? It says 5.1" but 1dx is nearly 6.5" tall.

A: Answer to my own question just in case others are wondering - I just bought a store demo version of this and my 1DX II does fit inside this bag. This is not a large backpack but it certainly holds just the amount of gear I need without breaking my back.

Q: 8. How do you strap a tripod onto this bag?

A: This bag does not come with a way to strap a tripod to it.

Q: 9. Will these fit the Hadley small/small Pro?

A: Yes

Q: 10. Will the AVEA 3 and AVEA 5 side pouches work well with this bag?

A: Hi, yes, this bag is fully compatible with the AVEA 3 and AVEA 5 side pouches.

[0.12 lb] I shoot mainly landscapes but travel and sometimes architecture too. I carry one or two full-format Nikons (D750 & Df), and I wanted a bag to carry an ultra-wide zoom, a wide zoom, a 30mm, as well as a standard zoom mounted on the camera body. Sometimes I also bring a telephoto or a perspective control lens. Given the width of many of these lenses, it seems each bag I get is never quite big enough. And with heavily padded bags, the outside is incoveniently large for what it can carry. When I can be careful and need fewer lenses, I carry a lightly padded Domke bag. But Billingham's claim to offer padding that molds to the body struck me as just right--and it is. The bag is padded sufficiently but not so thickly it gets in the way. It also seems very well made. I debated between the 307 and the 335 which is nearly the same size but $$less. The biggest difference between the two is the 307 is 2 deeper--a significant difference if you want to put a body/lens on top of the gear already in the bag. The 307 also has a hinged rigid opening that makes removing lenses easier and holds the zipper away from LCD screens. The shoulder strap is wider and padded better. While I liked the exterior size of the 335 (and the sage/leather color was nice), it felt--like so many bags over the years--strained to accept the same load the 307 swallowed effortlessly. And despite the 307's plentiful room, it doesn't feel big to wear. For such similar bags, it's surprising how different their functionality is. The 307 also supports weight quite well, and it can easily hold a water bottle or two in pockets at opposite ends of the bag. It looks less like a camera bag than a piece of luggage, although, maybe the one drawback other than price, it does look like the expensive bag it is, a drawback for attracting the wrong people's attention.

[0.12 lb] As with all the other Billingham bags the S3 bag is a beauty. It is the ideal size to carry my X-T1, X-T10 and a spare lens. Also it looks great with the Avea pouches attached. Highly recommend the bag.

[Yes] I needed something that would hold a Leica S and three lens plus a few other things like the Lee filter system. This bag will do all that and while it is certainly a load, I can manage it. There are larger bags that would do the job but I feel like this one 307 is made for the S with a three lens kit.

[0.12 lb] I have the Billingham F-Stop F1.4 and the 307 bags. I needed a way to carry my Gitzo tripods and these straps were the Billingham solution. It is a bit of the old world style (no velcro, just buckles) which matches the Billingham approach. Once a tripod is secured to the bag, it hangs below the bag. Not all of the Billingham bags provide for these straps (in other words, they can't be used on them). The popular Hadley bags don't. BTW - when not carrying a tripod, you can use the straps to hold a wrapped up rain jacket. The straps can be removed from the bag. All-in-all, I'm glad I bought these straps and would buy them again.
