Made of a high-strength polymer resin, this Odyssey Vulcan Injection-Molded Utility Case with Pluck Foamcase features an interior space of 17.5 x 11.5 x 5.25" and comes with cubed foam sheets that fully take up the interior. The cubed foam can be plucked as needed to customize to your gear. The case also comes with convoluted foam under the lid. The case is impact resistant, watertight, and dustproof. It has a comfortable carrying handle, a pressure release valve, and padlock holes. It's also stackable with other Vulcan cases of the same size.

Q: 1. Ive read elsewhere that the laptop workspace is not able to accomodate a 15 MacBook Pro (base = 14.13 x 9.73) if using the velcro holders. There is no mention of the actual laptop workspace dimensions when using the holders. Could this please be clarified?

Q: 3. Does this stack with other SKB Roto racks, and if so, which depth? (in other words, does it have the grooves on the bottom for either shallow or standard depth SKB racks?)

A: Yes according to the pictures there are grooves on the back of the SKB Injection-Molded 4-RU Studio Flyer Rack Case that make it stackable with other SKB rack cases.

Q: 4. I can’t tell from the photos. Does the lid detach and flip around or?

Q: 5. Would the H4N fit in the spot for the recorder and a Rode Reporter Omnidirectional Handheld Interview Microphone fit in the accessories spot?

A: Hi Cameron, The H4N is wider than the H5 and unfortunately will not fit into this case. We do have a custom cut case for the H4N. BH's model is SK3I09074B01. It doesn't look like the rode reporter mic would fit into that case. You could purchase our 3i-1209-4B-C case that comes with cubed foam or you could get our 3i-1209-4B-D that comes padded dividers. Either one of those cases would give the length you need for the microphone and space for the H4N and other accessories.Thank you,Will

Q: 6. Is there sufficient padding on the top of the lid to justify keeping the laptop in the case at all times?

A: The SKB Injection-Molded 2 RU Studio Flyer Rack Case does not have any padding on the top lid, but this rack case is designed for safe storage and transport of a laptop and delicate studio gear.

Q: 7. What are the dimension of that empty section? I have the boom mic attachment and I want to be sure it will fit.

Q: 8. Will a Universal Audio Apollo x8p fit in this case? The knobs on this case stick out quite a bit and I'm not sure if it will fit.

A: Yes, it will fit with about 1/2" to spare.

Q: 9. What is the largest monitor you can pack with this case?

A: The Laptop work surface area is 19 x11 . With some basic algebra (a2+b2=c2), one can calculate the max diagonal length of your monitor or laptop should not exceed 21.95 . Based on this information, an 18 laptop (approximately) would be the largest size monitor the SKB 1SKB-iSF2U will support.

Q: 10. Will the laptop workspace accommodate the 16" MBP if using the velcro holders? It's 14.09"x9.68"

A: Yes. The laptop work surface is 19'' x 11''.

[Black] Nice foam option to fit dynamic and small condenser mics securely. The extra space for things is nice. You can fit some condensers and mic clips in there. This case could definitely be thrown down a flight of stairs with out braking. 5

[Universal] 4 Rack spaces and Just enough room inside. Rails in front and rear came loaded with phillips screws. I didn't expect that... Very practical for stowing extra items and fits together nicely. 5

[Cubed Foam] I bought the Zoom recorder exclusively to record on the go, so I wanted to invest in a proper case that would do a good job at protecting it. I feel very comfortable taking this out in the field because I know it will be well protected. 5

[Yes] I received my travel case and was immediately impressed by the solid construction, well thought-out design and customizable nature of the case. From thick, durable material, roller wheels and dual-position lockable roller handle, four latches (One on each short side and two on the long side), two padlock holes, and rubber gasket for ensuring the contents are safe from the weather. I took my case on a camping/hiking trip in which I was going to be filming waterfalls. The case sat outside in the weather (just outside my tent) for 4 days straight, collecting dew on the outside, but all of it's contents was safe, dry and secure from the weather on the inside. I was putting a lot of trust in the case to protect several thousand dollars worth of camera equipment and everything was clean and dry the entire time. I especially appreciated the rugged design and ease of customization. The soft foam that are pre-scribed cubes, made it super easy to make multiple, very detailed 3-dimentional shapes. There are 3 separate layers of foam, which is nice and allows you to build a shape of varying depths for objects of complex shape. The case is a little heavy and you'll want to take advantage of the roller wheels when you can, but it also contains handles on three sides that are spring loaded and will snap back to be flush and out of the way when being stored. The handle grips themselves are extremely comfortable and grippy and feel very secure. One other thing of note is this case is stackable and can lock into each other if you have multiples. I have three and they are very secure stacked. It's a very well built smart design and you can tell this is a very mature product. Overall, this case is amazing and I highly recommend it. Several people on my trip commented on how impressed they were and expressed interest in picking one up themselves. Don't think twice about it... it's absolutely worth the money. 5
