A: The Second Skin is a semi-rigid removable insert made from a thermoforming material, allowing you to increase the maximum internal volume of the case while maintaining optimal protection. It increases the internal usable volume by 20% and weighs 70% less than the soft dock. The adjustable dividers let you create different configurations according to your needs.

Q: 3. Can someone kindly the following question? How much space should be left between each piece of equipment? I have heard one inch and two inches, for this pick and pluck type case interior. What does the manufacturer HPRC recommend? Thanks...

A: I would minimum of two rows of foam on all sides of your gear (looks to be about an inch I would say). One row will detach too easily but two holds up well and will help maximize space. You definitely can't fit as much in with the foam as opposed to the Velcro padded interior, but certainly have more protection.

Q: 4. how many C-stands can fit in this case?

A: I carry two stands with arms and umbrellas with room to spare and plenty of packing around them. BTW this is one tough case and has survived many plane rides in the baggage hold.

Q: 7. Will this accommodate a Cendance remote or Crystal Sky? How many Batteries?

A: This case will hold up to 6 batteries, and should accommodate the crystal sky monitor. I do not believe this case will accommodate the Cedence transmitter.

A: Yes, this is compatible with the HPRC 2700WF case.

A: It is very hard to know if it will fit just by looking at the specs online. I would recommend you to place that equipment on a table as they would go in the case and measure length, width, and height. Then you can compare with the internal dimensions of the case. Leave 3 inches in each dimension for the padding. The internal dimensions of the HPRC 2500F HPRC Hard Case with Foam is 17.7 x 12.7 x 6.8".

Q: 10. Is this cabin friendly size? How many camera and lenses will fit in?

A: This is just slightly larger than the average allowable carry-on dimensions from most airlines. This case's external dimensions listed in the Specifications are: 22.0 x 13.8 x 9.2 in (55.9 x 35.0 x 23.3 cm), while the average airline carrier's approved carry-on bag dimensions are: 22.0 x 14.0 x 9.0 in (56.0 x 35.0 x 22.0 cm), including handles and wheels. It would be up to the airline to allow it on-board or require it to be checked at the gate.

[Yes] Bought this case for international travel. I must say that when I first saw it I thought this is BIG. However it fits a lot of gear including lightstands, umbrellas, softboxes and misc items. I bought the unpadded case because I figured out that I can pad it with my own clothes (light clothing) so I can get rid of at least one extra clothes luggage. And it worked! Check airlines size restrictions before buying this, I did with the one I use the most and it barely fits the allowed limit. On the other hand, I must say, if you travel for a commercial assignment get a permit or something that says why you are carrying such a case. It will save you a lot of troubles at the airline counter, specially in countries where this kind of luggage tends to get a lot of attention. Its the best case I have found for modifiers and grip up to 36 inches height... 5
