Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this head accept standard size Arca-Swiss QR plates? All my telephoto lenses have Wimberley replacement feet on them with the QR Acra-Swiss mounting system!

A: Yes but I would be concerned about using really big glass. This is my favorite head for field work but the 80-200 2.8 is biggest thing I would put on it.

Q: 2. How much turn does the knurled ring travels from the complete lose state to get fully tightened? One turn (360deg) or half turn (180 deg) or one quarter (90deg)?

A: The turn is about 170-180 degrees to fully tighten it.

Q: 3. Is the ball locking mechanism sort of on/off, or does it allow you to adjust the tension continuously, from tightly locked, to movable-with-effort, to movable with less effort, to moves freely?

A: It allows one to adjust tension continuously.

Q: 4. What is the diameter of just the head cylinder, minus the knobs or plates?

A: it is 2.5 inches in diameter.

Q: 5. Is the clamp attached to this head, removable by the user? If so what size/type of screw is used?

A: I have not tried to remove the clamp an do not want to try (it may be on with lock-tight). However the USA rep is very easy to reach and can answer the question. Look up Rod Klukas Arca Swiss (b&h does not allow phone numbers or web information on the reply)I hope that helps, (he is very prompt at answering questions)

Q: 6. Is there an expected availability of the Sunwayfoto XB-28II ball head?

A: Special order items are not items that we keep in inventory. They are ordered from the manufacturer or distributor when you place your order with B&H. Note that they will take additional time to deliver.

Q: 7. Will the Peak Design Capture V3 plate work with this?

A: Yes, the Peak Design Capture Camera Clip v3 is compatible with the Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 Ball Head with Classic Quick Release.

Q: 8. Can anyone recommend a universal L bracket to use with this ball head? I was considering the Arca-Swiss

A: I use sunway l brackets and am very pleased.

Q: 9. Can you tell me please, what is the Picatinny/Nota Arca Swiss Adapter Clamp with Screw-Knob?

A: Picatinny rails are a type of standardized mounting platform that are widely used in the firearms industry to attach different accessories. Nota rail has the same dimensions. Sunwayfoto IB-30S Low Profile Inverted Ball Head comes with a Picatinny/Nota Arca Swiss Adapter Clamp with Screw-Knob which is used to tighten the clamp.

Q: 10. Hi thereI definitely want to purchase the p0 bullhead and possibly in the near future the cube, but for now just the p0. The problem I have is that I am coming from manfrotto and have absolutely no knowledge of the quick release plates made by arca swiss. It appears that there are several different types of arca swiss quick release plate i can order from your store. Which is the best all round? Which would give me the best integration if i purchased a different tripod head (such as the cube ) in the future? We cannot purchase arca swiss in New Zealand so i can't physically see what i am buying. I want a long term solution that would cover multiple heads and as many accessories as possible. Which of the p0 quick release /plate combinations would you most recommend? Thanks very much

A: The Arca-Swiss tripod/quick release system is more or less a universal quick release system for many different tripod manufacturers that do not use their own proprietary quick release system (e.g., Manfrotto). I advise the P0 ballhead with the classic quick release, as this quick release system will be adaptable to numerous heads.

[Ball Head] I bought this to use on my Gitzo G0012 table-top tripod, and could not be more pleased. The ballhead locks the Arca-Swiss compatible plate securely, as does the pano clamp. It has no trouble holding my Sony A7RII and fairy heavy Sigma 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. Highly recommended.

[Ball Head] This ball head is really amazing for the price, and would be really amazing at three times the price.  Grips tightly, easy to use, quality material, versatile, and super sturdy. Im probably going to buy a few extras before Neewer figures out that they can charge more for this.

Admittedly, for a long time I didn't pay any attention to Neewer, everything they made seemed to be for consumers rather than pros.

But something is changing at Neewer... they are still among the least expensive but their hardware manufacturing and engineering choices have improved dramatically in recent years. Suddenly I own quite a bit of Neewer products. Neewer is the Smallrig of a few years ago.... great prices for really exceptionally produced products.

[Ball Head] Nice ball head, especially at the price. Can do more than the cheapest Really Right Stuff ball head for much less money. Only fault I could force is that the clamp is not removable. I would recommend it to a friend.

[Ball Head] I never heard of Sunwayfoto until I bought one of their Arca-compatible plates and was impressed with the quality and attention to detail - not something you normally think about in a tripod plate. This head is beautifully machined and rock-steady. I tried it with a 16 pound view camera and it was very stable (no sagging) but remained easy to adjust. It works just as nicely with lighter equipment. The ball locks solidly well before the friction knob is fully tightened. The friction limiter is a small thumb- or coin-adjustable screw set in to the friction knob. The friction, panning and clamp knobs are metal (no rubber cover) and have a machined texture that can be a bit hard on the fingers. It's a low-profile head which means the stem from the ball to the clamp is short. If you're using the cutouts there are certain orientations where the clamp may bump the friction knob. The bullseye level on the long side clamp can be moved to the shorter side if you prefer.

[Ball Head] I needed a low profile ball head to handle a Sony FS7 on a Cinetics Axis Motion Control System and this one has proven very reliable.

[Ball Head] This seems to be a very good copy of RRS small bullhead. I use it on on Gitzo 0 series tripod as well as Sunwayfoto own table tripod also a RRS clone. It is a perfect setup for some occasions.

[0.88 lb] I am using this ball head on a monopod with a micro 4/3 camera. I wanted the ability to take vertical photos. A ball head isn't usually the best choice for this (I would use a "L" bracket if I could find one that would work with my camera) but this unit has a bit of drag built into it that enables it to work well for this purpose. Combined with a very low profile, the ability to fit in a Pelican 1520 attached to the monopod, ARCA compatibility and a VERY IMPRESSIVE build quality for me it was the perfect product. This ball head is sold at a very low price point and it even includes with a small pouch for storage. While small it does lock securely and I would trust it with my D610 with a 70-300. (If it goes on back order again, be patient, B&H will ship it when it becomes available.)

[+30° to -30°] This looks like a great tripod head. Well made, sturdy, small and lightweight.
I converted my REI Hiker Power Lock staff into a monopod using this ballhead and the Op/TECH USA wrist strap. Just unscrew the cork ball covering the camera mount threads, put on the included thread adapter, then wrap the wrist strap connection loop around the screw and screw the tripod head on. This tripod head is light enough not to make the hiking staff not too top heavy like other heads do. I love it.

[Ball Head] I found this to be just the right size for a Gorillapod tripod and a perfect compliment for micro-4/3rds gear. Add to it ARCA compatibility and a low price and it is a definite winner.

[Ball Head] This is a great and affordable ballhead that I use primarily for overhead camera setup. I have this on a C-Stand and Arm Extension and it uses an Arca Swiss mount which I have plenty of. This really is a simple to use and simple to setup. I personally use a Impact Superclamp and Manfrotto 037 Reversible Short Stud, with 3/8 & 1/4-20 Threads, with all 3 combined it creates a sturdy setup which will hold my camera steady and safe. Highly recommended if you need a ball head for overhead camera shots.
