Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this film for the Holga camera?

A: If your Holga is a 120 version then yes you can use it.

Q: 2. I used this film with Mamiya 645 and Sekonic L-308X-U on a daylight, i sat my light meter to 400 ISO, am following the light meter readings and i still getting under exposed images, what u think is my problem.

A: Most probably your light meter is off and needs calibration.

Q: 3. Can we ferry it through the x-ray machine in the airport? Is any x-ray pack required?

A: Do not use x ray safety packs, or leave film in checked baggage or in your camera. All of these actions will cause security to be suspicious and raise the power in the x-ray machine to the point that it will fog and thus destroy your unprocessed film. (Processed film is unaffected.) If you have a small amount of film, have it in clear zip lock bags, in the manufacturer's containers and then ask for a hand inspection so that you avoid x-ray all together. If you have a large amount of film, it is strongly recommended that you call security ahead of time so that the process may proceed smoothly. FYI, unprocessed film can go through USA TSA hand carry machines unaffected 1-4 times. 5 or more times or higher ISO may fog.

Q: 4. I have an original vintage Diana-F with the red window centered and at the bottom edge of the back of the camera. I just installed Kodak Portra 400, and I never saw any frame numbers in the red window. Help! Are the numbers not in the right place on Kodak film? Can I assume they are in the right place on Lomo film? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated so I can stop wasting money buying film that doesnt work. Thanks!

A: If you have the original (as opposed to the lomography remake), it might be a different story....and I am a complete newb & could be totally wrong here... but I think if you change it in the back from 12 to 16 (or vice versa) that may solve your problem? At least thats how I went about it. My pictures did turn out all wonky with overlapping frames however (but in a cool way that I loved and would attempt to do again haha). I did see the numbers though!

Q: 5. Hi,Does this roll come in a box ? Thanks!

A: Yes, it will come packaged in a box.

Q: 6. Is it Dx-coded?

A: yes,Kodak portra film is DX coded

Q: 7. When will it be restocked?

A: Unfortunately we do not have any date of availability for this film. We suggest keeping an eye on this space for an announcement.

Q: 8. Does the 120 film work in the Hasselblad 500c/m?

A: When using a Hasselblad A12 film back, you can certainly shoot this film with your Hasselblad 500CM

Q: 9. I used this film with Mamiya 645 and Sekonic L-308X-U on a daylight, i sat my light meter to 400 ISO, am following the light meter readings and i still getting under exposed images, what u think is my problem. btw sometimes i push my film but i still not satisfied with the results. (**note** camera is in good condition)

A: I've shot this film twice, once at 800 with no push, and second time at 1600 and pushed 2 stops. The second time around I had better results with contrast and the look I was going for. It's a bit trial and error, but I feel 400 is too low. So try shooting at 500 in daylight if you use with a 85 filter as per CineStill, but honesty I think this is better suited at 800 or 1600 ISO.

Q: 10. Can this be used for slides?

A: No it cannot. This is negative film, slides are positive . See the link below for 35mm slide film options:http://bhpho.to/1breWJi

[C-41] This film is really awsome for street photography, I have a fridge with atleast 2× 35mm and 2× 120 at all times. Also I have atleast 1 of my Hasselblad backs loaded with this film .

[Color Negative] I used one roll on the Fuji GA645 Pro, and I was able to get some evening photos that I would not have tried with slower film and without a tripod. Another roll went into the Linholf Panorama with 150mm Schneider, the results are great detail and of course a shorter exposure time. The contrast and grain in the negatives are attractive and subtle. I will use this film in 35mm format with the Leica M6 after the film comes back in stock at camera stores.

[1] I started using this film at the recommendation of my NYC pro lab. I couldn't be happier with it. Very accurate colors and tones. VERY sharp. Easy to scan. Easy to load. It is at the top, along with Porta.

[C-41] I got this film to test out compared to Portra 400 and really liked it. I love the red halation! I think it’s a really great effect that can be used for fun artistic purposes in the right conditions! The look is very cinematic and seems to have a lot of latitude!
