CineStill Film 400Dynamic is a fine grain 35mm roll of color negative film that delivers a soft color palette with natural saturated color and rich, warm skin tones. The film has a wide dynamic range, with a base sensitivity of ISO 400. It can also be rated from 200 to 800 and pushed up to 3200. This makes the film highly versatile and suitable for any lighting conditions or event. It can be used outdoors or in the studio.

400D was specifically designed for still photography, and can be processed in C-41 chemistry by any photo lab or at home. It has a process-surviving, antistatic, lubricant coating that makes it ideal for both manual SLRs and automatic winding cameras.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi my rolls came without the box. May I ask what's the expiry date on this? I had ordered on 27 May

A: The expiration date can be between 6 months up to 1 year from the date of purchase.

Q: 2. This says it's "XPro," is this the same as the 800T sold on CineStill's website? Or is this a different formulation? Is this actual negative film, or is it reversal film that's designed to be cross processed in C-41? Or are they just saying it has a cross processed look to it?

A: It's a newer version of the original stock. It's actual color negative film to be processed with C-41.

Q: 3. Where are people getting this film developed?

A: The Cinestill 800Tungsten Xpro C-41 35mm Color Negative Film can be processed in a C-41 process, which is standard for color film development, and most film labs will be able to develop this film for you.

Q: 4. Can this film be used with non-lomography cameras? I shoot with a 35mm Olympus O1 and typically use black and white film, but I want to explore the color range of this film. Will it work?

A: That film can be used with any camera which accepts 35mm film.

Q: 5. Is this DX coded?

A: Yes, the CineStill Film 400Dynamic Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is DX coded.

Q: 6. Is this film DX coded?

A: Yes, the CineStill Film 800Tungsten Xpro C-41 Color Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) listed above is DX-coded film and will automatically set the camera's ISO setting in cameras which read DX-coded film canisters.

Q: 7. Does it really have 0 remjet? It wont destroy the machine on the local photoshop then?

A: From their (CineStills) website:CineStill film is safe for standard photo lab machines and produces ideal negatives for scanning or printing. CineStill color film can also be easily processed by hand, using CineStills Color Simplified Cs41 processing kits, without worrying about rem-jet. I still havent had my roll of this film processed, but it seems like theyve made it safe for sending to a photo lab. Just to be safe send it in to the darkroom dot com and theyll know what to do with it for sure. Great lab for film processing.

Q: 8. I used this film with Nikon FM-10 and Sekonic L-308X-U on a daylight, i sat my light meter to 400 ISO, am following the light meter readings and i still getting under exposed images, what u think is my problem. btw sometimes i push my film but i still not satisfied with the results. (**note** camera is in good condition)

A: As mentioned in the 120 version: I've shot this film twice, once at 800 with no push, and second time at 1600 and pushed 2 stops. The second time around I had better results with contrast and the look I was going for. It's a bit trial and error, but I feel 400 is too low. Try shooting at 500 in daylight if you use with a 85 filter as per CineStill, but honesty I think this is better suited at 800 or 1600 ISO.

Q: 9. Do you know expiry date of this film?

A: The expiration date will vary with the batches of film.

Q: 10. Safe for ECN-2 processing?

A: C-41 processing should be used for this film. ECN-2 processing will work, but the images will have very flat contrast and subdued color palettes.

[0.08 lb] Cinestill is just really fun to shoot (if you like the halation). Produces a really great mood when shooting nighttime scenes and portraits. Editing scans of this film is a bit more involved though in my experience to get good results

[C-41] Exactly what I look for in film. Beautiful colors and I love the way it captures soft light. I had a bit of a water leak, and only the first photo in the roll had any damage, I don't know how, but I'm not going to question it. I'm just happy it developed ok! I always need to have a backup of this around.

[400] After all these years, Kodak and Cinestill are still on point with this stock. Halations are great, and the remjet removal is a great convenience The versatility in low light and the speed of this film in daylight make this a great stock for any photographer - novice or professional.
