[86 mm] Great Lens!!

[Full Frame] Should cost more. It's a nice, clean lens for the price.

[Imperial] Build quality is top notch, definitely has a nice heft to it that makes it feel rugged. Focus and aperture rings are super smooth, it's a dream to pull. Being full frame VV, small and compact, excellent bokeh, zero focus breathing, it's hard not to appreciate the crazy value these lenses bring at this price point. It definitely has some character as you will run into CA, edge softness, and flaring, but all of that is subjective anyway, so definitely test first. But personally, I like that. This isn't my favorite flare of all time but it's far from the worst as I kind of enjoy the subtle flare this gives. Also the fact that it has versatility of being able to swap mounts in an underrated quality.

[86 mm] Love this lens! But I have it setup with the DJI Lidar RS as well and haven't used it on it's own outside of basic testing.


The lens itself is very nice - solid construction with a decent front loaded weight, and an easy enough to balance shimming system for mount swapping. The glass offers a lot of character with minor fringing and fairly low distortion, get it for that classic softer cine look and don't expect it to be the cleanest/sharpest lens around. I personally love how it rolls off the highlights and still gives details in the skin but also a bit of softness, when paired with my c70.


All that said, I bought this lens as part of a whole setup to solve a specifc problem, and for that purpose I couldn't be happier! I shoot mainly with a c70 in solo operating conditions as a b-cam op. This lens not only solves most of my focusing issues, but it also serves as the fastest setup with it's auto calibration feature when paired with DJI's Lidar RS. Now I get a decent jump in hitting focus while in auto via the Lidar mod, and I have the added benefit of more unique cine lens look vs my native Canon DSLR glass. It's awesome, and has performed perfectly for me so far! I only wish that they'd release a wider 21mm Cyber or maybe a 16 or 18 instead.

[Canon EF] With my experience of shooting video, and using a focus motor or focus wheel. Cinema glass with hard stops make swapping out lenses and going into your shoot with 3 points of view in mind. To me, this is ultimate in film making. When your gear is easy to use, you do more. I am an absolute fan of this company and sold my prime Canon 35mm 1.4 II for this and it’s an UPGRADE.

[4.955 lb] I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this lens. The bokeh bubbles are gorgeous, the image looks smooth and beautiful, it feels super sturdy, and it is just amazing to rack focus and t-stops. This was my first cinema lens and it has absolutely blown me away. The first video I shot on it, was gorgeous, and every video since has been gorgeous. It adds a soft kind of warm look that people have a tough time putting their finger on, but really like. A friend recently told me your new videos look different and she's right. I was mainly using a sigma 24-70 f2.8 before, and this gives such a different look. There is just a personality to this lens and I LOVE using it. Thank you DZO for making such a gorgeous lens, at a really nice price.

[35mm] I bought this lens along with the 50mm and now I'm waiting for the 25mm to be in stock since I like the look so much! The lens is sharp but not clinical like the sigma arts and has a beautiful roll-off from sharp details into the bokeh. Great colors and texture to the image with extremely minimal chromatic aberration (I've only seen it come up with extremely blown out background behind the subject). This is a HUGE difference from the Rokinon DSX which had such bad CA that most back-lit footage was unusable. Only cons to this lens are the weight and the extremely long focus throw if you're not shooting in a controlled set - the focus throw is definitely not ideal for fast paced environments, but still workable. All in all definitely pleased with these guys.

[Canon EF] Absolutely love this lens . I use it on my Red Epic Dragon and the quality is very comparable to the Canon CNE ...

[T22] This is a great budget cine lens . The quality is top tier. Would highly recommend this product. I love the image quality I get out of it.
