Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this film work in my old Kodak bantam f/4.5? I also don't know how to develop it or any other films in this camera

A: The Film for Classics Pan 400 Black and White Negative Film (828 Roll Film) is compatible with the Kodak Bantam f/4.5 camera. The Darkroom does process 828 films. Here is their website: https://thedarkroom.com/film-formats/828-film/.

Q: 2. is this for a pony 828 camera?

A: Yes, this is 828 size film. the Kodak Pony was made in two size, 828 and 135. Be sure you have the Pony 828 and if so, this film will work for you.

Q: 3. I have an old Kodak bantam f/ 4.5. will this film work for that?

A: Yes, the Kodak Bantam f/ 4.5 accepts 828 film like the Film for Classics Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (828 Roll Film).

Q: 4. My Kodak Batnam has a viewing window to see which number film I am on. Does this roll of film havesuch numbers to view?

A: According to the manufacturer, yes, the backing paper for all FFC 828 film is numbered to original Kodak specifications. The numbers can be seen in the window on the back of the camera. So you can use the Film for Classics Professional Tri-X 400 Black and White Negative Film (828 Roll Film) in the Kodak Bantam camera.

Q: 5. Can anyone compare Arista EDU Ultra 100 to Agfa APX100?

A: The Arista is FomaPan as I've heard, it has a lot of black and white. I've only shot APX 400, it has more traditional grays also.

Q: 6. Can I use this in my old Kodak bantam colorsnap camera? And will I be able to get it developed anywhere?

A: I run a studio/lab in Baltimore called Full Circl Fine Art Services. We can process your color or B&W film here. 828 film is ideal for this type of camera. It's amazing someone is actually making that size. I believe it's simply the 135 format without sprocket holes. Not sure if straight 135 would work too, might be worth a shot.

Q: 7. Hi, does this work in a 4x4 mini Rolleiflex? thank you very much!

A: As long as your Rolleiflex is the one that is made for 127 format film, the Arista EDU Ultra 400 Black and White Negative Film (127 Roll Film) should work. Note there are a few versions of that camera that uses 220 and 120mm film.

Q: 8. What fixer is recommended to be used with this film? Will TF4 work good with it?

A: I use Kodak fixer or Kodafix...I always use a hardening fixer after too many scratched negatives using rapid fixers (I mean geez, it only adds a minute to the film processing time, so rapid fixer isn't that rapid IMO)

Q: 9. Who can I get to prosses this film?

A: Unfortunately we do not offer any film processing services for this film.

Q: 10. I have a brownie Target six 16 will this film fit that camera? I would really like to try out this old camera!

A: I'm sorry, no, the Six 16 takes 616 film.

[100] I haven't had a chance to use it yet as everything just went sideways, but coming from B & H, I would say that it deserves 5 Stars as any product that I've bought from them is top notch. Let's keep our old simple cameras going for some simple good old fashioned fun (nice to get away from all this modern stuff once in a while)!

[828] I have used this film, made by Foma, for years as my go to film for my 6x9 folders and my large format (4x5 and 2x3 Speed and Crown Graphics and Busch Pressmans) with 6x9 film backs. I process the negatives myself at home - see the image attached of the complex I live in - Northfield Green in Portland, ME.

[828] I've lost count of all the rolls of 828 film I've purchased from B&H over the years. A lot. Each roll is perfect. Fresh and trouble free to use in my Kodak Bantam Special camera. These hand-loaded film spools are finely crafted, you will be very happy with their use.

[828] I use this film in my RB67 and V Pan 617 cameras. I always get consistent results using pyrocat developer. Either I don't make any mistakes (doubtful) or the film is very forgiving. I rarely have a neg that isn't usable. Grain is fine, even when I make 16x20 prints. Of course we would all like faster films sometimes, but that's what tripods were made for.

[1] I am a novice - however this film is easy to use, reliable and fine grained. It dries flat so is easy to scan. Fantastic product .
