The Aquatica SURVEYOR Moisture Alarm for Canon EOS 70Dfrom Aquatica SURVEYOR Moisture Alarm for Canon EOS 70Doffers an added level of protection to the underwater photographer. The SURVEYOR circuitry integrates a water detection function that remains on constant duty when a battery is inserted. Should the slightest amount of water make contact with the sensor probes, it will trigger an alarm using both an audible signal and a rapidly flashing red LED to visually attract your attention. Adding the vacuum pump and pressure valve to your housing will make it possible, by creating a vacuum inside the housing, to fully test its sealing integrity. Once the easy-to-follow procedure is completed, a green LED blinking every five seconds will inform you that your SURVEYOR system is monitoring your camera housing and you're ready to dive. In the event that sand, hair, or other foreign matter would compromise the housing sealing integrity, the SURVEYOR warns you with both an audible signal and a rapidly flashing red LED signal.

This kit includes the moisture and vacuum sensor circuit, a pressure valve with retaining nut, a vacuum pump, mounting hardware, a container of O-ring lubricant, and a CR2032 battery.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you use a lp-e6n battery in the Canon 70D? The manual say it is a lp-e6, but I believe the battery designated with the n is improved. Thank you.

A: I use a Watson LP-E6 battery in my Canon 70D. It works perfectly as the original Canon battery!

Q: 2. This camera doesn't have a PC terminal like my 50D for an external strobe, I have a strobe which connects just fine to my 50D via PC terminal, how do I hook up my new 70D to the sync cord that is attached to my strobe?

A: There are adapters that mount on the hot shoe of your camera and will have a pc-sync input outlet on them to plug your strobe into. We offer one from a company called Vello which features the pc-sync input and maintains a Canon TTL shoe on top so you could still connect flashes or TTL cables to the camera. See the link below for details:http://bhpho.to/xfZyXZ

Q: 3. Is this the us model?

A: In situations where B&H offers both a USA and an imported version of a product, we label each version clearly and explicitly. If a product does not have an indication either way, it is understood to be by default a USA product. In situations where only a USA version is offered it will not be labeled USA.

Q: 4. I have a Canon 60D. How much of an upgrade is it going to a 70D?

A: Goto dpreview on the web where you can compare the 70D and 60D

Q: 5. Does the microphone jack have plug-in power for an external mic that uses the camera's battery? Can you only use the live view screen, not the viewfinder, when shooting video?

A: The microphone jack on the 70D is only an audio input, there is no battery power. Any microphone devices you use must have their own power source. For shooting video, Live View is the only viewing source. It's great for touch screen focusing. Use a sun shield if shooting under bright lighting conditions. You can make one up from black poster board or buy one on BH.

Q: 6. Does it include camera care kit?

A: Yes, this kit includes the lens care kit, screen protector, and cleaning cloth.

Q: 7. What memory cards are best for this camera? I see it takes several types but I don't which is better. I don't know the differences. Thank you! Ann

A: The Canon 70D camera can use SD type memory of any size/capacity. I would recommend a faster type card to keep up with the speed that the camera writes at when recording video files and shooting continuous still in a fast burst. I most commonly recommend Sandisk brand Extreme series cards. They are fast, reliable and are well made. See the link below for my recommendation:http://bhpho.to/15Lpt1u

Q: 8. Can you control the depth of field with auto focus , or do you have to go to manual and use the depth of field button to view. When you stop down does the screen darken or stay bright. I use a lot of f/22,f/32 settings for that great depth of field.

A: Depth-of-field is not a function of autofocus. Depth-of-field would be controlled by your chosen aperture, your focal length, and the distance between you and your subject, and your subject and the background. Regarding the second part of your inquiry, the depth-of-field button works in all modes, not just Manual mode (though its affect would be more noticed if you are choosing your own aperture, such as working in either Aperture-priority or Manual mode. If you use f/22 or f/32 for most of your scenic needs so you can achieve great depth-of-field so more of the scene is in focus, when depressing the DOF button, the camera will stop down to your chosen aperture. As f/22 and f/32 are small apertures, only about 3% of light is entering your camera at this aperture, so it will look very dark in the viewfinder. While DOF preview buttons were more important on film cameras where you needed to have an idea of the effect before taking the image, with digital, you can simply set your aperture, take the image, then review it on the LCD screen to ensure you have the amount of DOF you prefer for your style of shooting.

Q: 9. Can I get a DVD tutorial for 70 D camera

A: At the present time there are not any DVD tutorials offered specifically regarding the EOS 70D camera that we carry, nor was I able to locate any online. I am sorry about that. - Yossi

Q: 10. Has anyone tried the HDR feature. How well does it work?

A: HDR is pretty good. It uses three images to create the HDR. It only works in Jpeg and it does not save the individual images, just the HDR. For built in HDR it is good. There are many post options to create HDR and those usually give you the option to use more than three images and so you will get more ability and control.

[1x CR2032] Purchased the 70D as an upgrade to my 50D so I could have HD video with the ability to change lenses and not have to carry the camcorder also. After much research and reviews, I purchased the 70D refurbished, after receiving the camera from B&H you can't tell the difference from a brand new one, not a scratch or mark on it and saved a lot on the price! I also purchased David Busch's book on the 70D and recommend this to anyone purchasing the 70D. Even if you have never used a DSLR before this book will have you using the 70D in no time at all, way better than the manual that comes with the camera, covers everything so that a person using the 70D for the 1st time can understand, all in full color! The STM lens is great and silent. I plan on purchasing the 10-18mm IS STM and 55-250mm IS STM to round out my equipment.

[1x CR2032] I love this camera and wanted something at top end of mid range. Previously had a nikon d5100 as my first dslr. Features I like on the 70d are wifi, touch screen menu selection, easy one button ISO, Shutter speed, AF during video.

[1x CR2032] This was an upgrade from a 40D and it is a vast improvement! The clarity of the shots and the ease of use, along with the light weight of the body, makes this a pleasure to use. I have found that the high ISO makes shooting in low light easier (focus faster, no blur), but there is a lot of noise the higher the ISO (however, that is true with any digital photography) - I need to find that happy medium. The swivel LCD screen is convenient, and the touch screen saves time when changing from portrait to monochrome (for example). Very happy with it!

[1x CR2032] My other Canon is a T2i, and having passed on upgrades to a 50D, a 60D, and all the subsequent Rebel T upgrades, I decided to go with the 20 mpix, hybid focus 70D. Now that I've had several opportunities to use it indoors, and out, in many types of light, and in most of its many modes, I'm not convinced it's significantly better than my T2i. Yes, it's a bit faster when shooting bursts of frames, but using the same lens, the images do not appear - either before, or after processing - to be different. Video? Occasionally, but not a lot. The touch screen is nice, but there's a reason the camera is designed with the shutter button where it is: it's intuitive! Perhaps with time I'll be able to get more from the added 2 mpix, but given it's considerably chunkier, and heavier (Canon says .5 lb, but it feels like more) than the T2i, and I haven't yet developed an interest in transferring images via WiFi, I'm wondering whether I'll be willing to make the 70D my primary DSLR? I do like the fact that it's environmentally sealed as I live in the Florida Keys, which means the 70D will be more resistant to the ever-preset humidity, salt, and coral dust. All things considered I do recommend the 70D to those who do not already have a 60D, or Rebel T2i - T5i, with the caveat that one of those cameras, with at least a kit lens can be had for less money. For those who are seriously seeking an upgrade, you may want to consider the new 7D Mark II.
