A: slide the top rear left button to the middle position , then use the two buttons next to the one that slides to move time up,and down. You can tell the alarm is on by an icon that appears on the upper left of the display. When you wake up, you silence the alarm with the small button on the middle row in front of the slider. The benefit of this is that the alarm remains in for the next day so you don't forget to turn it on. The downside is that little silence button is hard to find in the dark when half asleep. And don't forget to slide the alarm go off on Friday night!

A: Alarm reset button has the benefit of leaving the alarm on for the next day but silencing it now. The off button turns it off so it won't sound again until you turn it back to buzz or radio to set it. On Fridays, I turn the alarm off using the slider that says off buzz radio. Then turn it back on for Monday on Sunday night.
