The fundamental tone of the 10-inch woofer is complemented with a tweeter for high-frequency definition that's ideal for slap and other modern playing styles. Our efficient bi-amp design delivers clear and balanced sound, and the tweeter can be turned off with a panel switch for a more traditional bass tone if desired.

The Katana series is famous for its onboard BOSS effects, and the Katana-110 Bass is no exception. Dedicated comp/limiter and drive sections provide core processing, while FX1 and FX2 offer a treasure trove of options from the BOSS bass effects library—standards like chorus and flanger to octave, bass synth, and more. The FX2 section also includes delay, reverb, and over 60 total effect types are available for loading via the BOSS Tone Studio editor.

With the intuitive panel controls on the Katana-110 Bass, you can quickly refine your tone in detail. The studio-inspired Blend section lets you mix in some dry signal, which you can preshape from the panel with three customizable settings for the optimum tonal fusion. A comprehensive four-band EQ is also on hand, complete with three selectable frequency centers in the low-mid and high-mid bands.

The flexible Katana-110 Bass is your perfect partner for any live gig. Six Tone Setting memories are available for storing and recalling the sounds you create, including preamp type, EQ, Blend, and effect settings. You can switch memories from the panel and go even further with optional footswitches, an expression pedal, and the GA-FC Foot Controller. There's also a balanced XLR output for connecting to a house PA, along with a switch to select between direct, pre, or post signals.

The Katana-110 Bass is equally suited for studio recording and home playing. The compact footprint takes up minimal space, and the variable Power Control lets you dial up cranked-amp tones at family-friendly volume levels. A headphones/recording jack provides a direct output with effects and miked-cab emulation with three Air Feel settings, while USB lets you interface with computer production software and track with great tone.

To shape sounds with even finer control, reach deep into the heart of the Katana-110 Bass with the Boss Tone Studio editor. Adjust preamp, EQ, and Blend settings, call up and tweak over 60 Boss effects, and organize sounds in Live Sets for different gigs. You can also shape the overall amp response with powerful global EQs, and fine-tune system settings like Air Feel, USB, and more. By connecting an optional Boss Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor to the rear panel, you can wirelessly adjust settings during the gig from your iOS or Android mobile device.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can I shoot portrait position as well as landscape with this head?

A: Yes and No... If you are using a lens with a lens foot, typically the lens collar allows you to rotate around the lens, then YES. You would be able to quickly roll the camera over from landscape to portrait. However, if you are using a shorter lens or a lens that doesn't feature a rotation lens collar, then NO. If no, ProMediaGear manufactures the PXC2 Lens Plate that will clamp onto your Arca Compatible tripod plate mounted on to the camera body rather than the lens. To rotate to portraits with this configuration you would require an L-bracket.

Q: 2. Is the GKJr cradle removable and is the vertical rail compatible with using the RRS PG-CC Cradle Clamp that has a quick release lever?

A: The GKjr clamp is removable. The vertical rail is Arca Swiss compatible which means the PG-CC will mate to the rail and the release lever will point to the outside away from the Gimbal causing no obstruction to the lever.

Q: 3. Is it worthy to buy for lens 800mm with 1dx mark 2

A: This is rated for 50lbs. The Sigmonster I own, with camera weighs about 17 lbs.

Q: 4. Does theProMediaGear GKJr. Katana Junior comes with the Arca type quick release plate as they advertise in their website? Thanks for your help!

A: Yes, my Junior came with a long Arca type quick release plate. I'm able to quickly balance my heavy 400mm f/2.8 lens on it.

Q: 5. what arca swiss plate do I need to purchase for my sigma 60 -600 sport lens for this gimbal?

A: A plate such as the Wimberley P30 Quick Release Plate, BH #WIQRPP3 would allow the Sigma 60-600mm to fit this Katana Gimbal Head. https://bhpho.to/2VJ7BHQ

Q: 6. How does this do for pointing your camera and lens straight up overhead, most gimbal heads have restricted motion for straight up shots. In astronomy jargon this position is called zenith. Thanks.

A: The only lens I use on this head is my 500f4 and it can't shoot straight up.

Q: 7. Use a Nikon camera 80-400 lens and a battery pack do i need a larger plate do u have to buy it separate ?

A: The GKJr Katana Jr. Gimbal comes complete with the ProMediaGear PX6 6 inch long lens balancing plate. It should be a good plate for your lens. If you feel you need additional length we also manufacture an 8 inch model, PX8.

Q: 8. Can it be used for land scape photography with a battery grip or do u need a special plate ?

A: The gimbal may be used to shoot landscape photography. If you have a longer lens with a foot the supplied PX6 balancing lens plate should be all that you will need. If you choose to shoot with a shorter or wide angle lens you would require the PXC1. It's our ProMediaGear Arca Compatible Plate with an Arca Clamp built into the lens plate. a href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1354249-REG/promediagear_pxc1_6_dovetail_plate.html target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1354249-REG/promediagear_pxc1_6_dovetail_plate.html/a

Q: 9. Is there a way to get nodal point for panoramic photography with this GKJR?

A: The ProMediaGear 8" Dovetail Plate with Integrated Arca-Type Clamp (Nodal Slide Rail), B&H # PRPXC2, would be a good nodal slide rail compatible for use with the ProMediaGear GKJr. Katana Junior Aluminum Gimbal Head.

Q: 10. What does this gimbal head weight? not the package weight but the gimbal head itself.

A: ProMediaGear Katana Professional Gimbal Tripod Head weights 5.4 lb / 2.4 kg.

[Modeling] Light, portable, stable.

[Yes] Yes, it is very lightweight and plasticky and feels cheap for the price. BUT, it is super convenient, sounds great and loud enough as a portable practice amp. I use it to practice outside in my backyard, my bedroom, pretty much anywhere and it is so easy and sounds way better than those 2 watt micro amps. Plus it has bluetooth so I can play backing tracks or music while practicing. Really awesome!

[Yes] Delivered very quickly at a reasonable price, of the cover and sales tax, free shipping within three days or less, packed well. Will do fine for my occasional local gigs and keeping the rain, dirt and dust off of the amp. Sturdy material for the price, fits well. Looks classy with the Nextone Artist model name embroidered on the front of the cover. Handle cutout on top of the cover is done well. I figured spend a little extra for a decent cover for such a nice, higher end amp.

[3] I live in NYC and have larger cabs and heads. I got this little amp for being able to get on the subway without breaking my back. For the size, weight, and money this is a great little amp.for practice and low volume rehearsals.

[Modeling] Well made good added features. This was to replace my old Boss Tuner, which lasted on the road for over 10 years.

[Yes] I am really enjoying this amplifier! The sounds are great and it was for a good price. Still figuring out how to use it to its full potential, but as an intermediate player, it's well suited for my needs.

[60 W] I almost bought a Princeton but glad I didn’t even without the price difference. This is great for anything from “bedroom” to gigs and for most genres. It’s also about as small and light as you can get and still have a 12” speaker.

The tone is full and deep. The cleans are amazing with each guitar sounding like the guitar and not so much the amp. Lots of headroom.

It also has a full range of breakup from barely to great overdrive. At any volume.

Having been a Fender fan for years I am reverb addicted. Not much difference between spring on my Boss pedal and this amp’s except for depth which stops before you feel wet. It’s pleasant and adequate.

I plugged in my studio monitor headphones to try the cabinet emulated out and it does sound great. Maybe even better.

It does have a lot of low end especially in the house. To get rid of that with the single tone control I just dialed it up and used the guitar tone controls to tame treble if needed.

If you want a small, light, Swiss Army knife amp with great tone and reasonable price this is worth a look.
