Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this have a firewire connection?

A: It has A USB connection.

Q: 2. Will there be a Left-hand version?

A: I checked Logitech's website and they do not have a Left-Handed version of this mouse at this time.

Q: 3. Why at times my white LED at bottom side blinks blue ?

A: The Logitech Ergo M575 light you are seeing is the connection light for the Bluetooth.

Q: 4. me and my movie

A: I have the very latest Mac OSX 10.13.4 and the Kensington software only allows the 2.4GHz receiver to be used, Bluetooth is not available. In addition, the 2.4GHz receiver has trouble during wakeup if the Mac has been 'sleeping', many times my receiver needs to be unplugged/replugged so the Mac OS can find it again, this is a pain in the neck. I have called Kensington Support and all they could suggest was to put new batteries in the Expert Mouse, of course that made zero difference. I have been a USB Expert Mouse Trackball user for over 10 years but this model does not work right with Mac's. The Trackball software and Expert Mouse are flawed, don't waste your money.

Q: 5. Is this ball compatible with Windows 10?

A: *IF* you installed Trackballworks in Windows 7 before upgrading to Windows 10, you will find it in your Apps in Windows 10 with all the settings preserved as you made them. You'll never notice a difference in your Slimblade operation.FOR THIS REASON, I do not know if you can install Trackballworks in Windows 10 without difficulty, nor do I know how the Slimblade will function without it. To find out I'd have to Uninstall software, do testing, then *hope* I could Reinstall the software. I expect Slimblade to function just like a two-button mouse (trackball) without Trackballworks in Windows 10, and you'll probably still be able to scroll by twisting the ball.

Q: 6. Does it work well with rechargeable batteries?

A: Yes, the Kensington Orbit will work with rechargeable or disposable AA batteries.

Q: 7. What is the physical size of the trackball? Is it larger than the Logitech M575?

A: The Kensington Pro Fit Wireless Vertical Trackball has a trackball size of 35mm. The Logitech M575 has a track ball size of 34mm. They would be roughly the same size and feel.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with MacOS Monterey 12.6.5?

A: Yes, the Kensington Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring (White, Sustainable Packaging) is compatible with MacOS Monterey.

Q: 9. Will it work with Windows 8.1 and the upcoming Windows 10 ?

A: Sorry, can't help you. I use it on W7 and XP only.

Q: 10. Is it possible to remove the ball and clean the dust out?

A: Yes, the track ball can be easily removed for cleaning purposes.

[USB-A ] I've owned a slew of trackballs and they've all had limits or problems.

Right size - Most are so big it limits their usefulness. When I close my keyboard tray they get knocked on the floor. And... travelling with them? Never. This one eliminates both problems.

Good Hand position - some trackballs either want to drift on my desk as I use them (and sometimes as their wire drags them). With some, the shape doesn't guide the hand into the right place. This one doesn't drift and it guides the hand into position.

Buttons: It took me a few days to get used to the fact that the thumb and pinky are actually positioned right over the buttons. Once you get yourself trained to not move the hand to find the buttons, the buttons are great.

Scrolling support works: vertical scrolling works well over short distances (several pages) and horizontal scrolling works, too (just hold the shift key down). The mechanism is not perfect but works over short to medium distances. Over longer distances, you'll want to go find the scroll bars.

Linux support: The software isn't made for Linux. But... everything works as expected out of the box.

[Ball] [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used a trackball mouse for years, this is my first wireless trackball and I love it.

[Mac, Windows] I was looking for a replacement for the Logitech trackball I have been using for years that is no longer available. This was the closest I could find. I love it. I was a bit concerned as some reviewers said that it was too big, I have small hands. It really isn't. I makes me stretch my fingers a bit which helps exercise them and relieves the some of the beginning arthritis pain.

[0.73 lb] My 2nd Orbit Trackball. The first lasted MANY MANY years.
Made the mistake of buying a cheaper Logitech trackball, that barely lasted ONE year.
I really like the big buttons on the Orbit Trackball, & the velocity response (can move cursor both in very small increments, or sweep across the screen quickly).
Because I've had a small computer desk (30 wide) for 35yrs, a trackball is necessary. My extended keyboard & trackball fit nicely. A mouse not only requires MUCH more space, I HATE constantly picking up & relocating a mouse to move around the 21 monitor: a waste of time, distracting & frustrating. I never have to look to find where my trackball is!
Plug & play simplicity, & easy to clean.

[2] so much better than a mouse, yet, not a clumsy, huge, spaceship looking thing. you can keep it anywhere, hold it in your hand to use it. no sore anything. use any of 3 fingers to roll the ball. i might suggest a design what could be held in the hand, easily, for use anywhere, including in a pocket. i love it, perfect.
