Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this work to connect an Alexa mini to the beachtec DXA-Red outputs, and record audio?

A: This cable is not designed to send audio into the Alexa Mini. The DXA-Red is meant to connect to the Red DSMC2. If attempting to connect the DXA-Red to the Alexa mini, you may need to have a custom cable created.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the Mini Lf?

A: Yes, it has a 5 pin Lemo connector for the Mini LF: Use the Tentacle to ALEXA Mini Cable Right Angle 12" to feed a timecode signal from a Tentacle Sync timecode generator to an ALEXA Mini camera. This cable features a right-angle, 3.5mm Neutrik mini-TRS jack connection to the Tentacle unit.

Q: 3. Does this cable use a genuine Anglissimo LEMO already angled at the 135 deg (4:30 o'clock) position as looking from rear?

A: Regarding the Tentacle Sync Tentacle to ALEXA Mini Cable (Right Angle - 12 ), the following information is offered by the Manufacturer: Original 90 LEMO adapter-cable to connect Tentacle to ALEXA MINI camera. LEMO Anglissimo connector pointing upwards (Direction to the red point).

Q: 4. Can it be sync with timecode with a BMPCC 6K Pro?

A: Although both the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder with Lavalier Mic and Timecode Support and the Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro have timecode functionality, it may be hard to jam sync the two together. Neither device outputs timecode, other than the 6K Pro via the HDMI signal. In this scenario, neither device is capable of acting as the main clock source.

Q: 5. Can it work with any timecode box?

A: The Tentacle Sync C07 Tentacle to DSLR 3.5mm Mini-Jack Cable is designed to send timecode from a Tentacle Sync timecode generator to any DSLR camera or recorder that includes a 3.5mm TRS input jack. This cable should also work with other timecode generators that use a 3.5mm TRS timecode output connection to send timecode to a camera or recorder that has a 3.5mm TRS input.

Q: 6. Any Sony camera user out there NOT have the timecode signal bleeding issue?

A: We are not aware of the timecode signal bleed you are referring to, but if you need assistance with your Tentacle Sync 3.5mm Mini-Jack Microphone Y-Cable (12") please feel free to email us at https://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/contactForm.jsp, call us at 800.606.6969, or use the live chat feature to receive real time assistance.

Q: 7. Could you plug something like the Rode Newscaster receiver into this to achieve wireless, TC-synced boom audio?

A: Yes, you can connect the wireless receiver from the RODELink Newsshooter Kit Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System to the input on the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder. However, the input on the TRACK E uses a locking 3.5mm TRS connector, so you will need to use an adapter to enable connection. You can use the Sennheiser CL1 3.5mm to 3.5mm Output Cable (B&H # SECL1), which has a locking 3.5mm connector on one side to connect with the recorder's locking input and a standard non-locking connector on the other side which you can join together with the standard non-locking connector on the receiver's output cable using the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF).

Q: 8. Is this compatible with Deity TC-1 ?

A: No, the Tentacle Sync C13 Tentacle to ALEXA Mini Cable is not compatible for use with the Deity Microphones TC-1 Wireless Timecode Generator Box. The TC-1 uses a locking 3.5mm connector and the Tentacle C13 cable has a non-locking 3.5mm connector. Instead, you can use the Deity Microphones C13 Right-Angle Locking 3.5mm TRS to Right-Angle 5-Pin LEMO Timecode Cable for Arri Alexa Mini (B&H # DEDTS0272D60).

Q: 9. What is the right cable to connect the RED Komodo EXT port for timecode?

A: The Tentacle Sync SYNC E can be used as the Timecode generator to feed a signal into to RED Komodo.

Q: 10. This is for connecting my pocket wizard to my Profoto light. I usually use the PocketWizard MM1 Flash Sync Cable Mono Miniphone to Mono Miniphone but they are back-ordered. Will these work?

A: This Tentacle Sync Tentacle to DSLR 3.5mm Mini-Jack Cable (Right Angle 12") BH #TEC07 is a stereo TRS cable and is not electrically configured like a mono TS cable would be. Here is a 16" flash sync cord cable: Nisha Miniphone 1/8" (3.5mm) Male to Miniphone 1/8" (3.5mm) Male Sync Cord (16") B&H # NIFSC163535 MFR # FSC163535

[Black] I use modest Fuji cameras to shoot video (X-T3 and X-T4). I wanted to get into timecode syncing. I was bummed that the Tentacle would take over the 3.5mm input jack, but when I started to look into how I could get around that I found that they make this item available. I was thus able to attach a Tentacle Sync device and a Deity short shotgun into a Fuji at the same time, using one half of the audio for the sync and the other to capture nice sound from the mic. There are probably cheaper cables for the same purpose, but I am pleased as punch that Tentacle anticipated this need.

[0.035 lb] These cables are hard to buy sometimes, just because of the price point. But its so worth it to have around just in case and I've always been glad I did. I do wish they put a little label or something making sure which end was which because it gets a little confusing when youre in the thick of things. But ended up making my own and everythings been great.

[Black] Works well.
Do not get curious and unscrew the alum part (I did), it's hard to reassemble (I did that too)
