[Bluetooth 4.2] Pairing with the Bluetooth app is as easy as turning the light on. It pairs automatically. For such a small light, it is quite powerful. My only gripe, and it’s minor, is the diffuser. It is silicon and a bit finicky to attach. Not impossible, just finicky. I wish it was more like hard plastic like the ones used on a speed light. The tripod included is kind of cheesy, but it’s a free mini tripod, so can’t complain too much.

It’s small, light, comes with a nice case, comes fully charged, and is super intuitive. I’m no pro at lighting but figured it out really fast. The app gives total control and makes navigating and controlling the light a breeze.

[2800 to 8000K] I have several RGB lights and I also own a pair of the Aputure MT Pro 1 foot RGB lights. 95% of the lights I own and use are used for interviews or constant lighting photography.

In my opinion the Genaray PX1-RGB Pixel RGB LED Tube Light (1') can easily go toe to toe with the Apurture MT Pros in every category. My first observation on these lights was that the Brightness and CRI are phenomenal. For interviews and small creatives works I think that just one of the these 1 foot lights can easily suffice as a fill light, hair light or as and RGB accent light.
I love how small and light weight this light is and it also looks great.

- The menu system is quick and easy. The buttons are a much better option than Aputure's scroll wheel.

- the carrying case it comes with is sub par. Plan on having it cushioned or in a dedicated case.


Overall I think this light is a great addition to light kit and is small enough that it won't feel like it's taking up too much room at all. I'm planning on getting another one as I tend to have these lights in pairs.

[99] The Genaray RSF-11-R Remote is a great companion to my Mini Moon.


You don't want to have to try and use a glitchy app or pull the light out of the setup just to adjust the settings. The remote allows me to put the Mini moon in fun places without having to worry about being able to adjust it.


I put batteries in it and it was immediately synced to the Mini Moon and ready to go. I love having a remote and the flexibility it provides. This remote takes AAA batteries.


The last great thing about the remote is the amount of channels it has. You shouldn't ever be able to not sync this.

[RGB] I was kinda skeptic on this purchase because I wasn't sure about the brand. I wanted the Nanlite Pavotube 30x but they are kinda pricey. B&h has these on sale at the time of this review. I can actually get three 4' Genaray tubes for the price of one Pavotube.


It came with a nice carrying case, only wish it could have hold the charger but it won't fit. Genaray has a light bag kit that can hold up to 2-4 tubes and charger brick.

The light itself is very bright, the colors looks amazing and the pixel mode is top notch. I was able to dial in a lot of cool looks. App works amazing and battery life seems great so far. I think this light is a great bang for your buck and has pro features just like any other light on the market that are priced higher than Generay.

[50,000 Hours] This light is very bright for its little size, has way more features than I need or will ever use yet still does the job I need it to do Okay perfectly well. It seems durable, feels good in the hand, looks great, and is predictable, which is what I need out of my LED light.

[16 W (Maximum)] I love this light! It's small, powerful and suits me well since most of what I do requires that my camera rig provide a smaller foot print.

The difference between this PIXEL version and the RGB version is that this PIXEL version has the ability to create lovely animated light displays using many color combinations. This feature is great for creative video moments. I think this feature is great, but in most cases I will use this light as a top light on my camera where the color temp will be between 3200k - 4500k.


Where this light really brings value is the diffuser. The silicone diffuser is unbreakable and provides a very soft throw.


The last thing to mention is that this light is very bright given it's size. I think this light is more than enough for constant light photography or sit down in interviews.

[2800 to 8000K] This Genaray RGB light comes with everything that you'll need. The light is well built with great venation slots in many locations; an OLED readout tells you the mode, color output, power, etc. A toggle for power, along with a push dial controller on the side along, and USB-C charging in a very compact but powerful package. The package also comes with a nylon carrying/storage case, white silicon for light diffusion, a mini tripod, a mount for the cold shoe to put the light on the camera, and a USB-C charging cable.

Aside from the build quality, the light can have various effects that you can set it to do. For example, in the product photo, the LED light can show different colors in 4 zones. What you get from this is an RGB light that can dim and output white light from 2800K to 8000K, depending on the creative need. Additionally, because it is RGB, the light can show a full spectrum of colors, mimic color gels, and more.

The Genaray RGB light is designed for ease of use. Its various functions can be easily set on the light itself. However, for more control or when using multiple lights, you can simply download the app and have all the control at your fingertips. This user-friendly design ensures that you can focus on your creative work without being bogged down by technicalities. 

This light is small and compact, which makes it easy to carry around as an accent, fill light on the camera, or just to keep in your bag if you are ever in a lighting emergency.

[LCD] WIth it being so lightweight and slim, I can easily fit it into a bag. It is surprisingly bright and good for fill light.

[Bluetooth 4.2] I got this as a deal of the day, and I'm delighted with it. I use it on a small tripod for web conferencing, and attach it to my rig for shooting stills and videos. You can get a super wide array of looks and intensifies with this thing, and the app is a breeze to use, although you don't need the app to make it work. Note: You need a battery or power cord to use this, it does not come with either.
