The 72mm Kolari Vision UV/IR Cut H-Alpha Pro Filter 72mmfrom Kolari Vision UV/IR Cut H-Alpha Pro Filter 72mmcuts UV and IR light when your camera's native UV/IR filter isn't strong enough and lets some IR light pass through. It can also be used in combination with ND filters that do not cut out IR light. And it also works as a protective filter, as it causes no color cast nor exposure correction. This pro version features multicoated Schott B270 glass in a slim, knurled brass ring threaded on both sides. (The optional standard version has an aluminum ring.)

Alternatively, this filter can be used with a full spectrum modified camera to provide more than four times the sensitivity in the H-alpha (Ha) line compared to most cameras' native sensitivity, and greater than six times the sensitivity in the sulfur II line. A full spectrum modification entails manually removing the camera's low-pass filter and replacing it with a clear filter. (Kolari Vision can make the modification for you at a cost if you send in your camera to them.) This Ha filter has a similar transmission to Kolari's hot mirror filter, but with an expanded spectral response covering the H-alpha and sulfur II emission lines, making it also useful for astrophotography.

A: The thread on the lens is 58mm. So, YES, If you take a filter with the same thread diameter(58mm), it will work perfectly. Remember that the filter will have the same 58mm internal thread, so, you can still fit a second filter.

Q: 8. Will this fit on my Takumar 55mm for the Pentax 6x7 medium format camera?

A: The Chiaro Pro 72mm 98-UVAT UV Filter is incompatible with the Super Takumar 6x7 55mm f/3.5 lens. That lens has 100mm filter threads, and we no longer have 100mm UV filters. If you have the Pentax Wide Angle 55mm f/4 Lens for Pentax 67, the Chiaro Pro 77mm 98-UVAT UV Filter, BH #CHT98UVAT77, is compatible.

A: Yes. This filter works on the Tamron 150-600 and the Tamron 150-600 G2.

[Glass] I love it because it now it converted our full spectrum camera to a useable interview B camera as well allowing us to use it outside! Just have to use it with manual white balance due to a red hue color. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make their full spectrum camera useable outside. 5

[0.3 lb] Filter really makes a bold difference in astro imaging. Noting that the lens sun hood doesn't fit over the knurled edge of the filter. I can live with it since a sun hood is rarely needed at night... if I were to use this filter for artistic reasons during the day I might have another thought 5

[72 mm] For many years, I have had to tweak my color in post. The original bmpcc trends to the reds a little too much. The it/cut filter has given me back my color without having the color baked in. I am extraordinarily happy with my investment and I would suggest that anyone use this tool if they care about their color. 5

[Glass] Have used Hoya filters for many years with my cameras. This is a different one with both UV and IR filtering but initial photos taken are on par if not better than those with my previous Hoya filter. Since my camera for me is an expensive one, I wanted a quality filter and feel that Hoya and this one in particular serve that purpose. 5

[Glass] If you've spent far too much time color correcting your footage to try and fix those ugly colors from all the IR pollution in your bmpcc, then this is the filter for you. Close to outfitting all of my lenses with these for protection/IR cutting, and would recommend to any and all owners of the bmpcc 4k/6k or UMP 4.6k pro. 5
