Put simply, WIDI is a wireless standard designed to send full MIDI information over Bluetooth. WIDI includes a collection of smart algorithms like Adaptive Frequency Hopping that optimize performance by selecting the best frequency at a given distance between devices. The latency between connected WIDI products is extremely low at only 3 ms—MIDI transmits data at a standard speed 31.25 kb/s via cable and WIDI products using Bluetooth 5 go up to 400 kb/s. WIDI products are 100% MIDI compatible and transmit all MIDI messages over Bluetooth, including MIDI clock, long SysEx, and MPE. They provide full bidirectional transmission and reception with dual role automation as both central and peripheral.

WIDIFLEX USB adds Bluetooth MIDI with an ultralow latency of 3 ms and advanced jitter optimization for all major operating systems. In combination with WIDIFLEX, you can then create a wireless high-performance MIDI setup for studio or stage, featuring twice the speed and four times the range (65 feet) of earlier Bluetooth versions. Though you can use the integrated Bluetooth functionality of macOS, adding WIDIFLEX USB reduces the operating system's minimum latency from 7.5 ms to just 3 ms.

WIDIFLEX USB has advanced wireless connectivity for autopairing with WIDIFLEX. Pairing other devices is equally easy when you use the WIDI app for iOS and Android (free download in the app stores). You can also use it to create and manage WIDI groups of up to five Bluetooth MIDI devices. Your settings are memorized, so all your connections are automatically reestablished the next time you start your system.

Set up WIDI groups of up to five Bluetooth MIDI devices with one central WIDI device and up to four peripherals over 16 MIDI channels. You can easily do this via the free WIDI app for iOS and Android, or with the group auto-learn mode. The WIDI app also lets you store setups for instant recall.

Create fixed pairs when working with multiple wireless MIDI connections at once, and run multiple groups with automatic pairing from default memory. When you plug in your WIDI units, these connections are restored automatically every time.

Plug WIDIFLEX USB into your computer's USB connector and enjoy ultralow latency Bluetooth MIDI without having to upgrade your PC, tablet, or smartphone. You won't need to install custom drivers, as WIDIFLEX USB is USB class-compliant. It uses the operating system's built-in MIDI driver. Simply plug in, and WIDIFLEX USB will become available as a new MIDI port in your DAW software.

The WIDIFLEX USB is compatible with all WIDI devices (including CME and Artesia Pro), Bluetooth MIDI controllers, macOS, Windows, Linux (with MIDI extension), ChromeOS, iPhone, iPad, and Android, with Bluetooth 4.0 or later.

Q: 1. Has someone connect this to Logic Pro X? Is it possible? Thanks

A: Yes you can do that.

Q: 2. Does it come in different colors? Or just black? Thanks!

A: The Vortex Wireless 2 is only available in black at this time.

Q: 3. Will this work with Ableton Live 9 Lite?

A: It will, and nicely...Great controller for the price. Knobs work great for your various effect and mod sends. Go to website for specific DAW platforms, (including Ableton). Nektar products are quite functional with many capabilities for the price. Enjoy!

Q: 4. Can I use this adapter with a device with a 5-pin MIDI output and no MIDI input at all? Obviously, I would need to transmit only in one direction.

A: Yes, I'm using it like that with a Roland JX keyboard.

Q: 5. Are we to understand that this can be used with any synth/music app or just Yamaha apps? I have seen nothing, ANYWHERE, to imply that it would...

A: I could not get this device nor its USB companion device to work on any of my keyboards including a Yamaha PSR-S900

Q: 6. Has anyone here used this with Ableton Live on a mac? Looking to use this to track from a Kohler & Campbell Piano Midi out into Ableton

A: For most playing this is great, very minor latency at times, more related to the receiving devices Bluetooth. Otherwise I really like it, allows me to use K2500XS as controller.

Q: 7. How is this device powered?

A: Power is drawn from the MIDI OUT.It just needs 26 mW.Refer to the owner's manual.

Q: 8. Will this work on a ETC Gio to fire cues via MIDI from Qlab?

A: MD-BT01 from Yamaha provides the wireless user with a wide range of performance and composing music applications by connecting iOS devices and Mac computers with instruments that use the older 5-pin DIN MIDI connections.

Q: 9. Will this work with ProTools?

A: Yes, you can set up the Impact LX25+ controller for use with Pro Tools.

Q: 10. Can it be used to control the Yamaha 01V?

[3.3 to 5 VDC] They look awesome. But more importantly the rock. The sound is crisp and true. They are small but they pack a punch. There are multiple ways to hook them up and they come with a nice set of XLR cables. I have nothing negative to say about these speakers

[3 ms] I'm using this controller with the full version of Bitwig. Bitwig and Impact LX25+ feel like an instrument instead of a DAW and midi controller. One thing I don't like about theImpact LX25+ is Soft Take Over mode which is the knob has to be turned passed the value that is Bitwig in order to take effect. This is to avoid value jumping. I'd rather have immediate change even if jumping occurs. The first Impact LX25+ I received from B+H was defective, but returning it was easy and the one I have now is solid.

[1x USB-A 2.0] This is one of those devices that is necessary to a small editing suite. The only problem is that it has so many features that you probably won’t use most of them. It has been great to use so far. Good feel to the keys. Simple to set up and plug into a program like garage band. I highly recommend it.

[0.095 lb] Bought this for travelling with my laptop, this is the most compact 61-key keyboard I've ever had, but more importantly NOT a piece of junk. Reasonable keyboard feel, bus-powered, and Reason integration is exactly what I needed, and the GX61 would have been worth it at even twice the price!

[USB Bus Power] When my previous MIDI interfaces quit working consistently, I got this. It works perfectly. Plug and play. It even looks good.

[1x USB-A 2.0] I bought two of the Nektar SE61 for a specific purpose which isn't done yet. But I read the reviews, heard people's comments and studied these before the purchase made. I have NO doubt they will fit the bill quite nicely when I get to the project for which I purchased them. They look sturdy, feel pretty good for plastic housings. But they aren't cheaply made, have sufficiently solid feel though the keyboards are said to be too much like synth keyboards. But for me, with arthritis, the lighter touch, the responsive feel will work out just fine for what I'm doing. Recommend the NEKTAR line - since they have others which are equally as good, a little bit higher priced but sufficient features to satisfy anyone who might be inclined to buy and use their keyboards PLUS they have other things besides keyboards too - so check them out. Recommended indeed.

[1x USB-A 2.0] I couldn’t say enough about the customer service and promptness of shipping. It’s hard to find knowledgeable customer service agents and a quality product. B&H will get my business again. Oh by the way the keyboard far exceeded my expectations.

[0.095 lb] I was looking for a synth action controller to replace my old Korg Wavestation, which is, in my opinion, the best synth action ever. Is not for everyone, though, since is so light, you can fly on lead passages, but is not very comfortable for pianos or organs. But the problem is that, since is a fully fledged synth, is big and heavy. Not really practical to move it around gigs. Anyway, to my amazement, the Nektar action is so light and smooth, not at all plasticky or spongy as many other controllers I've tried, that I can now put my trusty to Wavestation rest. As a plus, is very light and small overall, as much as I can fit both my main controller (M-Audio Code 61) and the Nektar on the same SKB hard case, how convenient is that? Build quality is top notch. Can't talk about long term, since I've only used it for a few weeks, but looks and feels very well built, it doesn't squeak when squeezed, buttons and dials are great and responsive, configuring it is a breeze, and it does have a multi function plug for either a sustain or expression pedal. That is very nice to me, since I'll be adding another expression pedal to control my left hand, while I use the other for the left. In a nutshell, I believe the Nektar GX49 is without doubt the best sub 100$ 49 key controller in the market.
