This 67mm B+W MRC Nano Master 806 ND Filter 67mm 6-Stopfrom B+W MRC Nano Master 806 ND Filter 67mm 6-Stopis a precision-crafted neutral density filter that reduces an exposure by 6 stops for finer control over exposure settings. By increasing the density evenly across the entire image area, the depth of field can be reduced to help isolate the image subject, even in brightly lit conditions. In addition, the shutter speed can be reduced to increase image blur and enhance the sense of movement, or smooth out the look of rushing water.

All filters of the new Master filter line are equipped with the exclusive Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) nano premium coating technology. This high-quality broadband coating is applied on both sides and enhances the optical imaging properties, allowing uniform and increased transmittance across the entire light spectrum to be achieved, with minimal physically induced remaining reflection. The nano all-around protection on the filter glass also ensures increased scratch resistance and extremely fast, easy cleaning, providing a long filter life. The slim filter ring design is compatible with wide-angle lenses with an equivalent width of a 17mm full-frame lens. The top knurling is redesigned for enhanced gripping.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does B+W 82mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter cause any vignetting and X-shadow at 15 mm end (Canon 15-35 mm RF 2.8 lens)? Thanks

A: There is a possibility of slight vignetting at 15mm.

Q: 2. Hi there Is this ND compatible to use with Sony Fe 400/2.8—i.e. internally? Thanks

A: No, the B+W 40.5mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter would not be compatible for use with the Sony FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens. While the Sony FE 400mm f/2.8 GM OSS Lens does use 40.5mm filters, the B+W 40.5mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter would be too thick for usage in the drop-in filter holder.

Q: 3. with an ultra-wide angle lens (i.e. Canon 16-35mm F4L with a full frame camera), do you get the dreaded X show up and if so at what density does it show up?

A: The X you can sometimes pick up in the image with a variable ND filter is caused most of the time by variable ND filters that go over 7-8 stops and lower quality ones. The B+W filter is fine. The one thing you might pick up is when set to the widest setting on that lens, 16mm you might pick up some vignette. And that is going to happen with that lens with most filters because of how wide it can go. The filter is designed with a thinner frame so it should be somewhat minimal.

Q: 4. Does this filter have hard stops?

A: So as not to confuse with my prior answer, there are no intermediate stops but yes there are stops at each end.

Q: 5. Will it fit in Lee 100 and Nisi V6 filter holders?

A: Yes, they are all 2mm thick and will work with each other.

Q: 6. Would an 82mm lens cap be a snug fit with this? Or does it need to be bigger?

A: The 82mm cap works well on the filter for 77mm

Q: 7. Hi i plan to use this filter on Nikon 28mm f/1.8G AF-S Nikkor mount on Nikon D700. Any concern? This is an expensive filter so just want to be sure before purchase. Thanks!

A: They are 100% compatible and will work well together.

Q: 8. Has anyone tried the Variable 82mm on a sony 16-35GM2.8? I want to know if you saw any vignetting or any issues with it. I know the 24-70gm also has the same filter thread so I was wondering just how wide you can go with the filter beefore vignetting.

A: Today's Polarizers from quality manufacturers are all made to be thin to avoid vignetting on wide lenses. This one from B+W has the coveted Thin Brass Filter Ring. You will be good.

Q: 9. How about thickness of 72mm XS-pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano? Is the thickness double as XS-Pro ND non-Vario one?

A: Since we are not sure of the thickness you are interested in and the second filter you are asking about, please email us at prophoto@bhphoto.com.

Q: 10. is this filter compatible with nisi v5 100mm system?

A: Yes the B+W 100 x 100mm XS-Pro MRC-Nano 803 Solid Neutral Density 0.9 Filter is compatible with the NiSi V5 Pro 100mm Filter Holder Kit at 100mm x 100mm, and 2mm thick.

[0.115 lb] I could be wrong, but I think B&W makes some of the finest filters. They are made in Germany and I believe you get what you pay for. Really can't see putting a $20 filter on a $2000+ lens.

[67 mm] Long-time user of B+W filters. Worth every penny because they’re optically excellent! (Doesn’t make sense to put cheap glass over a thousand-dollar lens.) And I prefer the brass threads over the aluminum construction of other brands, and often more-expensive brands. I still have every B+W filter I ever bought, going back years! So I see this as a lifetime investment.

I bought this filter for waterfall effects with my EOS R5, and wasn’t sure which density to get. Fortunately, this one, (a number 6), was perfect for that. (Lucky guess.)

I have a B+W variable density filter that I’ve owned for years. It works perfectly on my DSLRs, so why buy a single-density filter, right? Because on my mirrorless cameras, which have electronic viewfinders, the EVFs seem to keep compensating the brightness, so it’s a little wonky to work with. (I’m sure there’s a workaround, but it’s just simpler for me to slap on a single-density filter.) Yes, I highly recommend this product!

[67 mm] This 6 stop filter allows me to take the wide open aperture shots I want to take on bright, sunny beach days with the Canon RF 28-70 F2 lens. It does not cause any noticeable color shift or distortion at any focal range or any any aperture setting. I am very happy with this high-end filter.
